What other horror flicks do you think should've made this list?
Where spongebob squarepants out of water
I live inside your house lol
I guess you did say this century, otherwise you could have included Fallen starring Denzel Washington
Looper Shin Godzilla.
Silent Hill ( 2006th ), The Skeleton Key too. Village, why not I don't get why it gets all the hate :S Also the Babadook.
Final Destination 5 ends on the plane from the first movie. It was a prequel the entire time. That was awesome.
Best way to end the sequel.
I love the ending of The Others, I actually thought that it would have ended like that but I didn't want to blurt it out.
I saw it coming because The Sixth Sense had come out just a few years earlier but it was still good.
Yeah, The Others is one of my favorite horror movies
I liked that ending too:)
The Others was absolutely brilliant!
Agreed!
The Mist is so sad 😞
Sarah Louise Chippendale I agree!
Sarah Louise Chippendale true , it's just stupid .. it's just too cliche and i don't think enyone that loves his child whoud't have done what that guy did , like seriously.
This was one of the worst endings of all time. If they'd ended it like the book... I wouldn't have had a problem.
Lisa Pepin I agree. I saw the movie and thought WOTFwas THAT?!
i loved the ending. i'm a fan of unconventional endings.
Somehow everyone misses the reason why for the mass suicide in "The Mist." They heard the army approaching. They thought it was that giant monster.
No one missed that reason. It is the point of the movie. How a right reason can end up being the wrong one.
And it was quite ironic that he didn't try to help the woman get to her car safely to help her children and her and her children survive while his friends, wife, and child didn't.
Are you serious? Who missed the reason for the mercy killing at the end? Anyone? Anyone? If you didn't get the reason for it, or even thought people didn't get it then you're none too bright.
No one missed the reason... its literally the only reason in the movie... Also no they didn't hear the army approaching, we can only assume ahead of them was a monster who might of started to flee once the army started to win and clear the mist. The whole movie is very small so along with that comes alot of assumptions but one thing is clear, no one missed the fact they killed themselves to spare themselves from dying to the monsters, rather a quick death.
@@sarahlouise8925 even King said that he would loved to make ending like that in book
The ending of the first Saw was insane. I would have never guessed that John was in the room with Adam and Dr. Gordon the entire time.
The entire audience in the cinema gasped when he started to get up.
The others is one of my all time favorite movie, I love it so much.
Scariest horror story ever:
You're the last person on earth, locked inside your home.
Suddenly there is a knock on the door.
The End.
Literally Shitler Well you don't know you're the last person for sure. It'll probably be a relief is someone knocks.
It’s your mom.
Staaahhhpp, you guys are ruining my joke!
Literally Shitler k
It's housekeeping!
Cabin on the woods was brilliant. So was the mist and get out.
I agree with your list, loved cabin in the woods. I also liked it follows. Not much is creepy to me anymore, but it follows had its moments.
Omg cabin in the woods is so amazing, and jigsaw is so good omg
I agree with everything you just said!!!
I really didn’t like Cabin in the Woods. It was much too random for my taste. But it’s nice to hear that it was enjoyed. Get Out sounds very interesting. I heard it was good. It Follows looks cool too.
Two Eyes Too random? What?
SUPERB video, great work, Looper!
Thank you! We're glad you liked it!
Love your videos, I appreciate you listed the titles and times in the description.
Identity was crazy
Identity is one of my fav. Maybe the twist look like decent ending this day, but at that time when them movie came out for the first time it was one of the best. Sooo satisfying
Seriously! Who would've ever thought it was the boy? Lol
Actually, I watched it with a large group of people because someone recommended it and throughout the whole film we said "It's Timmy!" partially jokingly partially not until his death when we started saying "oh well guess it's not him but once he came back right at the end we were all flipping out because our original guess was correct.
outlander FUCK YESSSSS
The biggest reason of why that twist works is that he's not a real person, so the rules in the motel are different from in real life. It's not how DID works in real life, but it made for a great twist according to it's own established rules.
Mist probably has the most infuriatingly good endings of all time, and everyone I see I’m always yelling at the tv. Bravo
JackaBoy ikr. I've wondered if he'd take himself out after that. Like lose it, grab someones gun and kill himself.
Hostel is the only horror movie that truly scares me, anyone who is capable of turning murder into profit for the gratification of rich entitled people is more scary than a killer wearing a white mask
Avril Peters true!! Watching hostel has raised so many questions in my mind about what horrible things might be going on in the world
I heard the idea of the script came to Eli Roth after he heard that in China, you can pay to execute prisoners who are sentenced to die.
Same thing happens in the purge movies.
Same concept in Black Mirror's Black Museum
Avril Peters Hillary Clinton comes to mind
Looper, I just found out about your UA-cam channel tonight and I absolutely love it! Your' content is fantastic and I enjoy the little video clips that you put into your videos. Keep doing what you're doing!
It Followed gave me phobia from being followed. This movie wasn't necessarily scary but it was terrifying.
Bb Beth. How can it be terrifying but not scary? I'm pretty sure those words are synonymous.
David Karl Marx lol she’s a moron that’s why
Everytime I see a figure walking in the distance, my mind does go to this movie. It's like after you watch The Birds, seeing birds sit on a telephone wire gives you the creeps.
David Karl Marx I think she means that it was more disturbing than it was scary, like it messes with your head more than it makes you jump
Honestly what creeped me out the most about the movie was the music choice. Some of those songs were creepy.
Conjuring 2
So wholesome. Made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
I'm confused, please explain.
Can't wait for The Nun Valak spinoff.
It actually was oddly wholesome. The first one, also.
The cabin in the woods is one of my favourite horror movies. Great job👍
For “the mist” maybe the religious lady was right and killing the son ended the mist because a few seconds after the son died the mist ended
Have you not seen the movie?
MrTHEMONEEMAKER obviously I have
If you have you would have seen the damn military rolling in destroying the creatures and it seems closing whatever door or window there was into the other world
Really that is left to speculation in both the movie and the book. You assume the military defeated them, just as you assume the military invited them from their island experiment.
You assume the military defeated them, but it's definitely confirmed that the army base ripped open the portal to the other dimension.
if you ever do a part 2 i seriously recommend the scary movie “Sinister”. please watch it, the ending is ridiculously crazy
Not even 20 years into the 21st Century... are you sure it isn’t a bit too early to be making this list?
Danner he can always make a part 2...
it's already 17 years
Well, I doubt many of us will be here in 2099. ;-)
Steve Pannell lol well if we did what they did in get out, it could possibly happen.
Steve Pannell if people from the early 50s can still be alive today im sure we can live to see the 22nd century some people live up to 100
I love this channel so much and I like your voice too it’s really cool
Great list!
Frailty good ending too.
Drood P i agree!!! a lot of people don't know about that movie...its one of my favorites
one of my favorite horror movies
Frailty has an awesome ending!! Bill Paxton is great in this
The Others ending is one of the best in history. That movie blew my mind, the first time I saw it.
These are amazing!
Wow...I agreed with every entry on here! Great job!
Where's The Descent?
so true - what a great ending!
I know right?! Loved that ending!
Brandon Martin honestly the 2nd film didnt really reached my expectations 😕 Loved the 1st one though 😍
good ending
And 47 Meters Down, they basically have the same ending...
"It Follows" & "The Witch" had great endings...
Great list. Unfortunately I've seen them all. And loved it.
Very nice video
Top Missed titles:
28 Days Later
Let the Right One In
Shawn of the Dead
Titles that had better endings than most on this list:
The Babadook
Goodnight Mommy
The Witch
Comments:
The Mist=Great Ending (but mediocre movie)
Cabin in the Woods=Not Great Ending to interesting concept
It Follows=Great Final Shot, Pool Scene was STUPID
Get Out=Great Twist, but Comedic Ending OVER Continued Fluid Commentary
I agree with most your choices, but The Descent should be on this list as it was so scary they banned the original ending in the US. I love Get Out, but it did feel they had a lot going on during the movie. Finally, I did like the ending to Cabin in the Woods, even if it wasn't as good as the rest of the movie.
Gaston_LovesEggs I agree with The Descent. I mostly love that movie, but it’s biggest problem is the middle. There should’ve been no explanation of what the creatures were and only 1 creature. This would’ve brought an interesting twist to whether there was a creature at all.
The ending was not banned. It was changed in an attempt to satisfy American audiences.
Shaun of the Dead was a horror? It’s too funny.
The Worlds End can be a bit creepy
Jesse Cox: The Mist=Great Ending (but mediocre movie)
I wouldn't call that a horror movie.
It's more like a spychological study/documentation, how humans really are.
Society is a fucking joke. The moment SHTF, all this crap becomes worthless and people getting f*cking dangerous.
i love this movie.
The Mist was a great freakin movie... I hate that the ending almost made me cry though. That was some pretty heavy shit.
Love ya Looper!
I really enjoyed the music!
The ending of Drag Me to Hell - a coat button...
The ending of The Mist was the most twisted and depressing thing I've ever seen in a movie. A well done punch to the gut.
The open house, great job 👏👏👏👏👏
The Others was so good! Boi I did not expect that twist ending
Get out is an example that shows why we *need* to friend a cop
Kay Mauricio And not to date white people.
Yup
Ts fukin a
margareth michelina True.
margareth michelina well that’s a little racist but okay.
The Witch had a great ending
Yeah it was fantastic.
I came when HE spoke
Mae It was slightly anti-climactic I thought, but then it couldn't really have ended any other way to be fair :) It was the natural progression of 'say I am long enough and maybe I will be..!' lol Great film! :)
It was genuinely awful
That movie actually scared me. Great ending. I watched it by myself in the dark with headphones in, and I wasn't able to turn around for about 20 minutes because of the scene when she was talking to black phillip
The Mist had the stupidest ending ever. Get Out gave it a run for it's money though. Nobody thought that the car at the end was the police.
Get out sucked tbh
The others has an amazing plot twist!
It is also the same device used in Blatty's _Elsewhere_ if I recall correctly, the whole protagonists being the haunters, and those haunting them being their exorcists....
Pandorum!
outlander That's a good one.
Yeah
outlander Pandorum and Event Horizon are two of the best horror movies
Yes! Adore Pandorum!
"Let the Right One In" should have been on this list.
blackonyx1. The original one.
The Hawk the title already says, that it's the original... the hollywood remake is titled "Let Me In"
Yes!! Why is it not on the list, Looper?? Now they have to make a separate video appreciating the movie.
I almost forgot about that one! You’re right it should have!
And Pans Labyrinth.
I love it follows! it's amazing
The accent
Surprised you didnt put the witch's ending there. This shit was insane
Totally agree
I really liked that one!
Masked Boy Music first time I saw that it scared the shit of me
what happened?
Masked Boy Music I haven't heard of this one. It's called "The Witch"?
You forgot The Boy! That ending still haunts me to this day, it’s so shocking and disturbing and yet so brilliant.
These flicks were all great. My favorite newer horror movie though is The Void.
it follows is beautifully crafted
Anyone who has seen The Skeleton Key would agree the movie should have made it to this list. It was the original Get out. Having seen it first actually made Get out a little less surprising for me.
Get out is gone go down as one of the best horror/ societal commentary movies ever. In due time
BuggTee103 like Reefer Madness.
@Eye Ball Juice Did it hurt your feelings?
A bit racist but great movie
100% Agree. that movie was amazing. The more I watch it the more I notice about the film. It was so well done.
Eye Ball Juice it's someone pulling the "If you disagree, you must be a racist." Card. I guess the implication that if you don't like the movie and it is tangentially involves their opinion on race, they can't accept the idea. Or they assume that you may disagree but are as closed minded as and think the way they do. To them, it couldn't possibly be that you disagree on a level that isn't emotional.
The Others is absolutely brilliant!
This is a great list, I do have to say Cabin in the Woods is one of my favorite movies, its so funny and scary
The ending of the mist frustrates me so much
Thank you for recognizing It Follows! Such an underrated, psychological horror movie. This movie is amazing, low budget, let it puts all the modern horror movies to shame. This movie doesn't rely on cheap jump scares or a scary looking antagonist.
It's so overrated it's unreal. 6.9 on IMDB which for a horror is amazing. And an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. Every video I watch looking for the best horror films, It Follows comes up. It's literally the opposite of the word Underrated. Because it's bad. So it's very overrated.
The Sixth Sense.
I kinda picked up on the twist halfway through, but so many people didn't and this deserves a spot on the list.
Psycho at the end, where Norman Bates is sitting in his cell and 'mother' has completely taken over. The line "She wouldn't even harm a fly." will forever remain iconic to me.
The original 1963 adaptation of The Haunting. At the end where all the pieces fall into place as they realise Elenore is the one causing quite a bit of the supernatural goings on, being as she's telekinetic. Fantastic move that's full of suspense, tension and brilliant camera shot.
The others sounds really cool. I'm going to watch it.
By the way, that's Carol from the walking dead in the last scene.
yes
Radio Haven and Andrea from TWD too is the one on the car holding the kid
Yes but she plays other roles
Several actors from TWD are in The Mist, Carol, Andrea and Dale are the most recognizable.
Yeah, it seems like Darabont picked them up when he was hired to direct TWD.
The mist has the best endings it was crazy
The others 👌👌👌 What a ending ✌️
Thank you so much that there is no errie music.
I honestly don't get why are people so crazy about the cabin in the woods...
Mirna velasquz Agreed. That movie sucked. Saw it once in the theater and will never watch it again.
M Goode ikr and I constantly see it in the tops lists :/
Personally I find it's a neat little deconstruction of the horror genre and the audience of horror films. if you watch it as a straight film without that context I suppose it loses some of that purpose (although either way the elevator scene is a bloody great gore fest).
Because it's funny. It's not meant to be scary or suspenseful. It's a parody of horror movies. They hit all the major tropes of horror movies.
It wasn't a horror film, it wasn't funny, and it wasn't a good parody of anything. All it did was waste peoples' time.
I loved get out's ending so much better then its original
I think I had just seen The Sixth Sense with that twist of an ending and then saw The Others. That was a great movie and ending.
I love each and every movies mentioned in this list. 😍😘
I thought Life(2017) had one of the best endings
Yeeesssssss
The ending for “The Mist” just pissed me off. The guy shouldn’t have killed his family because they weren’t necessarily going to die, you should only kill another person if there is 100% no hope for them and they are about to die due to loosing blood or something.
Thought the same. Seemed like a cheap solution to add some unnecessary drama.
If you saw the massive behemoth like they did would you think that there was any hope left.
yes.
I think what happened was was when they heard the military thing pull up they thought it was some huge monster so instead of the dad wanting them to suffer together he killed them so they didn't have to face what he thought was a monster
Calbin Carmody you obviously didn't understand it. They THOUGHT there was 100% no hope for them. For them it was either a quick death or a get ripped apart by aliens. Shooting someone who's dying from blood loss is idiotic in that situation because they're dying already.
For the ending of Get Out, there was no sigh of relief, it was a round of applause, standing ovations
One of my fav endings that is pretty jacked up and never saw coming was from the movie Oculus The Decent also was pretty messed up too.
THE OTHERS WERE SO GOOD
If the movies all jump scares it’s not a good movie.
The best horror movie ending was the others 🙌🏻 what a masterpiece!
Get Out is definitely one of the best movies I've seen, and Allison William's portrayal of Rose Armitage was horrifically amazing, especially when Rod called Rose, and she sounded so emotional, and... Just amazing.
The GET OUT ending does rarely happen...especially for the black character(s),haha!!
Sammy Lane I like how it showed far-Lefters as the villains
Anaconda, Mind Hunters, Halloween 7, Halloween 8, Deep Blue Sea, House on Haunted Hill, 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, AVP, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 4, The Perfect Guy, No Good Deed, Kong; Skull Island, The Thing, Predator 2, I Am Legend (depending on the ending you watch), Land of the Dead, Jeepers Creepers, Jeepers Creepers 2, Jeepers Creepers 3, Hola, Hola 2, Vampyaz, The Stand, Leprechaun in da Hood, It Comes At Night, Cellular ... Lakeview Terrace?
Snakes on a Plane probably doesn't count as horror.
Ummm wow 🙄
Bitch
tanoppy its true, if they were being realistic like in the alternative ending chris would have been arrested, no matter what.
Wouldn't the cabin in the woods ending would be the scp foundation and all the monsters or creature are scp?
The others is amazing from the beginning to the end
You have a good voice
The Witch should be on here, the ending was perfect.
The Mist is so sad.
I agree. Could have been another way.
It fallows is my favorite modern day scary movie. It needs a sequel and I think there’s so much more to explore in this world.
the others is phenomenal
Where is Donnie Darko?
All around me are familiar faces...
Andres Lopez6 not really a horror movie but I love that movie
I don't think Donnie Darko is a horror movie. I think it's of a sci-fi movie
I get it :D
What about...The Sixth Sense??!!!
Cee Cee that is from the last century, not this one.
I love the others so much, scared the crap outta me when I was younger
The visit had such a good twist! Despite the bad reviews I really enjoyed it!
FD 1-5 endings are the best.
Yes lets not put The Thing 1982 in here,
Drew McGovern THIS century. 1982 was the 20th century.
I hate ur pfp
I love how Saw slams the door at 2:01. You think everything's been wrapped up in a neat little package... Then Saw just gets up suddenly, and that door slam!
Yesss The Otherssss
Tbh I thought get out would’ve been better if got arrested because it would have shed a huge light on racism
but the "the cop is in on it" is such a cliche. it happens all the time. and the cops just being racist is also to "real". this was a good twist that usually doesn't happen in an escape themed horror film
Shaneyney davenport wasnt the cop black tho?
The entire movie already sheds light on racism. That was kinda the whole point.
Shaneyney davenport enough with those clichéd "unhappy endings". Can we at least in our lives have a horror movie with a happy ending? I mean for heaven's sake, come on!
Racism is everywhere, light is always being shown on it, people just choose to ignore
Is that Daddy Manning???
Romel Rivas appears to be.
Aw yesssss 👏👏👏 I was looking for jigsaw and me finds it🙏
The Others blew my mind !
You forgot The Babadook
victor manuel gonzalezd can't remember the ending to that now, thought it had a pretty generic one? I'll have to watch it again now lol
Because it sucked!
victor manuel gonzalezd babadook was brilliant
CEWIIH They ended up feeding the babadook in the end and kept it in the basement.
Ehh... I have no idea why so many people don't get the ending. The monster was actually a metaphore for grief after losing her husband. She couldn't handle it, and probably have the periods of serious depression. I don't remember exactly, but even the son at certain moment was like "oh, it's this again". He definitely saw that something was wrong with his mother, but, being a child, didn't understand what. At the end the mother learnt to deal with her grief, never get rid of it, but has it under control.
I LOVE SCARY MOVIES
Thank u boss's 😊
The ending of The Others gives me chills.
