Hello Seluleko, do you know any Busaries for BHsc, I want to do it at Wits.. For Gemp? Is it true ukuthi if you complete BHsc(biomedical) with an average of 70% Or more you stand a greater chance and no need to write Wapt? My EngFAL is 5 and all other subjects 6. I have been rejected for years 😒 for Mbbch1.
Hello Sabelo, there are bursaries that fund 'All Fields of Study', but they just closed theirs application. Yes it's true, you can exempt writing the WAPT if you did BHsc but in 2nd year you will have to exempt Anatomy, Physiology and Molecular medicine in order to not write them for WAPT. I am sorry to hear that, God has his plan and keep on doing all that you can add he will come through. All the best 👍

I think I obviously have to pick which degree I'll use for the average however I'm wondering what happens with regards to the prerequisites? Closer to time when the right time comes I'll definitely call wits to confirm I was just wondering if you have any information with regards to this? 😊
Hello Zee, so when a person does their prerequisites at UNISA they then technically have 2 degrees, so I guess its the same thing, as long as the prerequisites are done on the first year level of that degree
About the average of the last two years of your degree, you must get 70% both on the 2nd and 3rd year. Or you must get 70% both 2nd and 3rd year combined??
Hello Ngawo, so basically it doesn't matter whether you get 70% for both years, rather what is important is that if they add your 2nd year marks with your 3rd years marks divided by 2 = >70%
Hi Selu, i am currently in my final yr doing Bsc what i want to know is when i apply for GEMP do i choose third yr for MBBCh undergraduate? And for the WAPT will they contact me regarding it?
Hello Sade💛 Yes you must choose 3rd year for MBBCh, but even if u don't but upload your Bachelor Degree they will automatically take u for 3rd year, that's what happened to me, they emailed me explaining that they will accept my application under GEMP even though I chose 1st year MBBCh.... Yes they will contact you, if you know u meet all the prerequisites start studying for the WAPT cz probably they will invite you.
Hi sisi, I hope you’re good. I wanted to ask. I am doing my honours degree in labour relations. I did physical science, maths and life science in high school but I want to retake them through the Non-degree program at UNISA since I didn’t do well in high school. So now here’s the catch, I don’t want to go into med school, I want to go into pharmacy. Do you recommend I go about the same route? Is it wise for me to do so? I’d really appreciate your input in this. Xoxo 😘
Hi Please excuse my lack of knowledge here but how do rotations work? Do you choose where you wanna go or no? Assuming you wanna be a radiologist, which rotations would you do?
Hello, so when you are still in medical school you do not choose rotations rather you do all of them to be a qualified doctor, and then do 2 years of internship followed by 1 year of community service, and then become an MO (medical officer) you can then choose a specialty such as being an MO in the radiology department, and then you apply for a Reg post, and have exams and if you pass those exams you then become the specialist (Consultant) - Radiologist. It approximately takes 4 years to specialize post community service, but some people become MOs for a long time without being intentional about it.
Hey, Seluleko. I have passed my matric with Diploma. And then I enrolled in to Higher certificate in physical science at unisa. I did English, chemistry, physics and mathematics. I'm currently doing BSc in Life science. Can I apply for Graduate Entry Medical Programme (GEMP) after completing my Degree Or I don't qualify since I matriculated wth Diploma?
Yesss that's the root I'm taking now you do qualify for medicine u can apply at wits ursing ur graduated marks after completing your degree ask chat gbt u will get more information
I know I might be out of topic please forgive me. I have a BCom degree in Economics and I didn't fo well to qualify for an honors degree and I had to start another degree so that my academic record may look good with a better average. Can I do Wits plus to qualify for honors? I will wait for your answer my sister.
Hi Selu When you check online for the GEMP minimum requirements it say 60% in your last two years of your degrees. I have 69% so I'm getting bit worried now you say it's 70%😪
Currently doing Bachelor of Diagnostic Radiography(NQF 8) which only has Physics, physiology, anatomy and English but no biology and chemistry. So does it imply that I'll have to first do chemistry with wits plus to fully qualify?
Hello Mahlatse, I am afraid so, but you only have to do chemistry (6 months), and not biology since you already have physiology, and physiology is a biological module.
Hi if it happens that I'm the first student who studying bsc applied mathematics at another university and at high school I got 47% life science and 58%english
Hie Selu, thank you so much for the information you have been sharing. I just want clarity on the question i have. Does it necessarily mean that i have to go for the bridging classes so that i will have physics and chemistry and better grade for maths for me to be enrolled in GEMP and if i am to do bridging with Wits, is there any guarantee that i will be taken in gemp given the chance that i have passed the bridging course So basically I have been planning that soon after I finish my degree (I'm in third year now) then I can go for Gemp bt now it looks like there are so many things to consider, thought with my degree in nursing I will just apply, if accepted then go for WAPT then pass and enroll😅😅 that was just my thoughts so May you help me with the relevant information specifically for my case so that i will know what to do next year after i finish my degree. Thank you
You need to do Physics and Chemistry Half Course, so for a semester and pass with 50% this is the requirement, if it's not part of your degree register for the courses as non-degree purposes or apply for Part-time GEMP Courses
