1976 Honda Camino PA50 Re-build

- Welcome to my 2nd Camino re-build. First off, sorry again that it's just mainly pictures but I never intended to make a video, just take pics for myself. I have purchased a new GoPro to record more builds, rides and events, so future videos will, hopefully be better!
This one was done for my wife to ride, although she's a novice, just like me. Hopefully one day she'll have enough confidence to have a go!
I must admit to making a bit of a boo boo with this one. You can see from the initial pictures that it was in a right state, loads missing and had been sat on a pallet for years, but still had its original engine...so numbers matching. The mistake I made was that AFTER powder coating, I realised it was one of the very early Honda Caminos. It was made in May 1976 and has a frame number within the first 6000 ever made, which doesn't sound to early but 450,000 were made, with many being used and abused, it's quite a survivor. Had I known this prior to me starting work, I would have left it as it was asthetically and just restored it mechanically, but, hey ho shit, happens.

i live in belgium and caminos are very popular here, personally i ride a honda px50, same engine but a different transmission/vario. these old school hondas never break.
I agree Jesus, me and my mates regularly do 120 miles in one day. They never fail.

where did you get it powdercoated/sprayed and cost?

How long did the whole process take from start to finish? I love my 83 hondapa50ii!
Not long, about 3 months but that was with working full time and family stuff.

Hi Coby, it gets to about 35mph. But to be honest I've not ridden it much, it was built for my wife but she's not confident enough to ride it. It has just sat in the garage since I finished it. I tend to ride the red one more, as it's proven to be really reliable. We've not had much chance to get out though, because of covid. Cheers John.

Hi jahwar I'm sorry I don't speak German, but I think you are asking for a piston ring? I don't have any but if you look on ebay you should find some, it may be better to get a piston and piston ring complete.
