As an Antique Booth owner myself, I know there are many that don’t sell on EBay. When pricing items in an Antique Booth, you can’t get what you can on EBay, and you don’t have as many eyes on your items as you do on EBay, so there are many treasures to be found. I’ve actually sourced from other Antique Malls and sold items in my booth for a profit. I’ve also flipped items from Antique Malls on EBay. They’re are great source when garage sale season is slow.😊TFS Pete.
That leg brace is cool! It would be great for a doctors office display. Maybe I need to pick up some KY postcards to sell on EBay, since I live here I wouldn’t have to drive very far, Lol!
Tammy I just watched you last night on Pudgy Picker. Do you have much theft at your booth? I am concerned about small stuff.
Not that I’m aware of, we have security cameras and very diligent mall owners that walk around throughout the day to deter theft. That’s not saying that it never happens, but if it does, it doesn’t happen often. Thank you for watching our antique booth talk series😊
Tammy TYSM for responding. This will give me something to ask about when I go to rent a booth. Love to watch you guys.
What I learned over here in the U.K from my mother trying to sell my grans furniture that a lot of the time antique furniture so not very practical especially if you live in a flat and they don't come flat-packed. You have to get creative I think.
"Just never know what your going to find" Love it. You are so...fun to watch. Thank you, Pete!
Glad you made this vid, Pete - gave me some good ideas for re-selling - With regard to the cast iron lamp; my first thought was two smaller vintage baseboard heat registers welded to a base - Thanks for sharing - good info...
Thanks for taking us along 🤗 It was both educational and fun. Your wife has very good taste 💖
God bless ❤ XOXO
Great job Pete, love that u went to a vintage flea market and networked with the people too.
I really enjoyed this video and liked tagging along with you to the antique mall. A lot of good advice and cool finds.
Great video as usual, Pete. I could spend days walking around antique malls and flea markets. Nice to see you pop into the hangout for a bit today too. 👍
Amazing video Pete , great knowledge shared and really appreciate you sharing it!
I'm always amazed how time flies in antique malls, you realize you been there a couple of hours and haven't seen half the stuff. Thanks for the change up video.
In my father's house there is red phone just like that one hanging in the kitchen still in use. I'm 56 and it's been there as long as I can remember.
Excellent stuff.
Addictive viewing during a pandemic 🥳⛑👍
Been wanting to go ti the antique mall near me for the first time for a while now and you just convinced me that I NEED to. Lol.
Score with your new contacts Pete. Enjoyed video. Hi from Australia 😀
Thanks! That was a fun road trip!
Really cool stuff, Pete! I can spend hours in antique malls. Enjoyed the video!
Great vid. Just as important as the items you found was the networking. And I agree on the long tailing.
Love the picture!!! Such a blessing if I can buy it from you...
love this video👍 really tons of knowledge💪👏👏
My Dad was a picker and my parents ran a flea market booth. Then they got a store and ran that for a couple of years. I got them onto eBay but they always made the most money from the store since the tourists would stop in. We were deep into cottage country and people liked buying the kitschy stuff.
Edison bulb. Great video, I look forward to all your videos
A celebrity came on business from California, and when asked by the radio show what he liked about the Midwest, he responded "I love the antique malls. I love looking for antiques. So many cool things here."
People that overprice things can get that sale when the super rich come waltzing through all high on their designer pills with more money than sense LOL!
Nice to see ya get back to your roots bubba! Enjoyed it!
Yes i'm tired of them tools. Thanks for watching bubba. Cheers !!
Man great finds man great job keep doing what you doing love the video..
Thanks for watching. Cheers !!
Thanks again for the info Pete
I have always wondered how the folks with antique booths keep from getting stolen blind. I live near Dollywood...Congress in session. Either they are not there or they are asleep at their desks. TYSM Pete!!
You are one knowledgeable man Pete
Great video Pete
Howdi from the UK love your vids been into hifi for over 30 years myself, wish we had thrift stores Goodwill etc and the like over here
Great video, as always.
🍀👍🍀😊nice segment.
Hanging out in DER BOOTS? Lol Love Craigslist Hunter!
Keep picking those antique "boots" for "cast eye-ron" and "Bush & Lamb" items. :-)
Always enjoy Pete's veeedios. Love the Polish accent. Not sure about that handcuff logo t-shirt, though!
5:34 paging Taco Stacks, "it is what it is" sign in background :)
eBay is good for selling items you no longer want or need. Pete here got me inspired to unload some items and I did about $11,000 within 2 months selling some vintage audio gear I had, a few guitars and some antique fishing lures and reels. Not too bad....found money! Buying some new monster TV's and other assorted goodies with the cash.
Great video thanks for sharing 👍❤️
Awesome Pete!! Thanks
Best Ebay flipping channel on UA-cam... BAR NONE
My best flip was a pair of jeans from an antique shop. Turned $10 into over 4K. Always look for the stuff that seems out of place, that doesn’t belong in that particular booth.
Junk Jones: what brand of jeans gets 4k?
1940s Levi’s in great condition.
@@junkjones9488 Sweet. Didn't know vintage denim was worth that much. Thanks for the knowledge.
Nice i always dream of finding vintage levis.
I have a black rotary phone that sits on the desk, I hooked it up to my landline, we have fun with the young kids of today figuring out how to use it to use it.
Rotary phones still work with the system. Interesting.
I still have the pink princess light up phone in my bedroom . works fine . . .
Very true that you have to go in knowing what to look for with antique stores. What I find to work is items that resale $100 and up, usually rarer models of common items. The telltale sign for me to avoid is many of the same item with drastic price differences. That usually means they know the items & researched it. But there are good buys, last month I flipped a typewriter from an antique store on eBay $35 to $225 in under 24 hours. Good find on the Ray-Bans. Anytime the are colored, they sell well. P.S. I think those are gold filled not gold plate (not much of difference 1/20 12k GF is only 2.5% gold but it doesn’t wear down as easily as plate). Keep up the good work, Garage Sales are right around the corner.
Yes you are correct on GF that's what I meant. Thanks for watching. Cheers !!
Pete any chance you could show us how you list, sell and ship post cards ect... seems like interesting topic for a segment
I went to the antique swap meet they have once a month in my city--it had rained earlier so they didn't charge the $6 admission, but even getting in free--everything was so expensive I wouldn't
waste my time again.
Pete! Thank you for all your wisdom. Your time and effort is much appreciated. I'm looking into buying bulk bubble wrap.. what would you say is a good price per foot/ width? Thanks again! 👍
I had a little cast iron pot belly stove when I was a kid
Another Great Video Pit. And great store...Any Chance you could do another video about '''Dead Stock'''-thanks
I had that exact phone on the wall in my house from 1982 to 1984.
Awesome thanks ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
14:50 Im surprised you passed up that slide projector. I buy those all the time for around $5-$10 and they sell for $50-60cdn
Hey Pete, if that guy is saying you can bring people to pick his warehouse and film it, maybe its a idea to take Vicky with you? I would like to see that and see what she is finding to sell!
something to think about. Thanks for watching. Cheers !!
Nice interesting video
Great video
I'm a Locksmith, that American Motors key and that Ford key are pretty common items. The blanks themselves sell for about 3 bucks, I suppose an older used key would be a bit more but probably not worth listing and shipping for a $4-$6.00 profit
Has there ever been too much meat on da bone 🍖 ? Love the content nice new place to source !
Great jazz hop tunage.
Thanks, I find cool stuff at the antique malls but as others have said, the prices are usually too high for reselling.
One of my favorite videos! Do this more often!
The booth with glasses had what looked like a Hudson Bay blanket.
I started selling antiques on ebay back in 2002 when most dealers didn't even own computers. Made a fortune..
The trick with antique dealing is be prepared to spend big when you know what your looking at, but if you don't, buy it cheap.. Also never buy porcelain from a porcelain dealer because they know what they have..
One of the hardest things is not buying anything if there's nothing there. When you have a couple of grand in you pocket it can be difficult, especially if you got up at 5am in the morning to go there...
A good tip for selling antiques on ebay is to do your research on the item your selling. Very important for buyers and also you learn something to add to your knowledge..Also start out you description very positive to attract attention, in the middle you give them the bad news ie, condition or other flaws, and end up very positive so the last thing they read leaves them hungry..
The best antique dealers love history and love learning about the things they buy. If you really believe in what you have to sell, you stand more chance of getting a good price..
There's no point in having lots of great inventory and no cash. I used to try and keep things as fluid as possible so sometimes you have to take a hit and sell it much cheaper than you want. Some you win, some you lose..
I don't do it anymore because I do something else but I loved the game...
Liked the post cards from Kentucky and Tennessee. I live in KY. Did you find out which horse park?
Can you make a video on how to spot 10k,14k gold???luv the videos lots of great info 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
It's marked. (You can get a loupe/magnifier for less than $10.)
I know a little about antiques but nothing like learning more information, I guess it depends what's popular at any given month?
Pete as an antique booth vender this is one of my favorite videos of yours. old toys are great to find and flip.
Funny you made this video case we were going to go to the antique mall this weekend lol. Them rolling wheel Casters sell for $25 ? They are like $3 new at home depot :/ ?
The wood box on top of the receiver looks like it could be a vintage mahjong box without it's front cover.
That phone would probably still work on a landline. The two bumps on top of it are there to set the headset on (either left or right) if you need to briefly step away during a phone call.
I have a friend that offered to help me source stuff - he sells antiques and gets stuff at his stand. I plan on making some videos on my channel with him. Just been waiting for weather here to break better in Pennsylvania.
I like how you pronounce Iwron.
It's unique.
Hey Pete-Menards has 8 rolls of packing tape for 99 cents - limit of 6 -8 roll package. Rebate deal. Only this weekend .
I get zero cell signal at my local antique mall and they refuse to get wifi so it's tough for me to walk in and buy things unless I have a lot of prior knowledge on pricing. So frustrating.
Thanks!
Hi, do have a video explaining how to decide whether to list an item on auction or buy it now on Ebay? Thanks
25:29 Cool Thunderbay Ontario. Where do you fish when you go up North? I live up in North area Canada Ontario.
I never thought there was a market for keys! Me personally, if I don't have a use for a key its garbage to me. I do love vintage skeleton keys though, them are cool AF
Nice "Bust the Breast" t-shirt Pete.....
The gorilla on the postcard is Bobo. He was the main feature in Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo during the 50s and 60s. This Wikipedia article outlines the highlights of his life.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobo_(gorilla)
Although it is not mentioned, I believe that Seattle school children collected nickles and dimes to buy Bobo for the zoo. Having a stake in his purchase made him a celebrity among Seattle children.
Pete will you post a link to your personal Ebay store. I’m unable to locate using eBay search. Thank you
1st thing you showed the coleman stove wasn't a bad deal when I looked it up.Top1 went for 117.00 bucks.
I think I would have bought that one more than any of the other items he showed. Due to condition.
I usta find insolators in new york, they were on abandon railroad lines
Thanks Pete, this is the very thing that I have been wanting to look into. By the way, is that the bag that you wanted from Max? LOL.
Yes it is I love big Satchel bags. Thanks for watching. Cheers !!
The largest antique mall in the country is only 15 minutes from me. It’s called The Factory Antique Mall in Verona Va.
love antique I have 2 table
Go crazy .you are crazy
hey Pete i want to start buying/selling vintage in my area any tips for where to start for a beginner. Also thanks for all the great videos i watch your videos everyday....what can i say vintage interests me
Mr.chow if you are new, spend your time studying COMPLETED LISTINGS on eBay of the categories you like best. Really study those, not just glance at prices. It will pay off in spades. BTW, I’m a FT reseller.
@@annachrissy4874 will do thanks for the reply
Great show! I also appreciate that you said, at the end, this is an opportunity to pick up extra items for your eBay store. Of course, it is really not practical to spend 3-4 hours to only get that amount of inventory. Big however though...if those contact picking opportunities work out we would be in a whole new ballgame. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!
#CraigslistHunter ?
Getting into Ebay? What to know when starting out selling on ebay and what you look for to stay away from being scammed or when to know to accept an offer from the right buyer?
What antique mall is this? I live about an hour north of you in Wisconsin so I'm curious
They are indeed loaded with stuff..but here in Ontario Canada, they are closing down due to the outrageous prices they post on pretty common stuff and you can't haggle with the seller - you can't eve FIND OUT who is selling the items unless they happen to be at their booth that day. It's not a good system. Several entire buildings closed down last year. A weird thing the people you 'pay' are always really creepy types who dont' give a fuck what you think . Stone wall type people who don't even have an interest in what they are doing. I think this is a problem just in this area. Alot of stuff is being hoarded in general so it doesn't end up for sale anyways.
Hi Pete, do you sell/ship the cast iron lamp with or without the shade?
No shade most of the time people will change it anyway. Thanks for watching. Cheers !!
Milo and Ruby 2020
Amazing video as always! The Antique Mall's in our area are so expensive and generally compete with online markets sadly.
Mine too. I live in a relatively small town with only three of these antique malls. It seems everyone's favorite price guide IS Ebay. When they look up an item, their eyes automatically go to the highest price they see, which is always a "Buy It Now" price. They never look at an actual auction to see what people are REALLY paying for the thing. They see the buy it now price as the gold standard of what things are "goin' fer" then wonder why it sits on the shelf until their kids place them in an old folk's home.
@@IronheadOfScroteus
These "antique mall" sellers are delusional. I've not met one yet who doesn't have some other, real income -- (such as a typical entitlement phony "disability" check off their neighbors) -- so they are just playing and fantasizing with their prices on this stuff. If they had to really compete to make a living, they would be having a "fire sale" every week, and reducing LOTS of stuff by 75%. (As I have to do, for old goods on Craigslist, for example, to be able to MOVE them and quit the storage/carrying costs.)
Yep, the ones in my town are full of those types of vendors; people who are rich, retired, or both. They don't seem to mind paying rent month after month without selling anything. It's just a way to fulfill a fantasy of having a little boutique without having an actual store (which the more business-savvy spouses vetoed). I keep my space filled with stuff I went out and hustled to find. I buy cheap and price to move (stuff I don't want to sell on ebay because of size, etc). I've had other vendors buy from me after I double my profit, then they mark the item up outrageously. Then it just sits there. lol!
On the weekend these dealers are hanging about in their Boots 👢🥾😁😁
Is that the antique mall on East state Street in Rockford I thought I heard the guy talking about the corando
How is the checkout process in these places?
i pretty much skip those malls the pricing seems like it is always matching eBay etc prices
i just purchased an item at an antique mall for $47. and flipped it for $349.! woo hoo! 👍
I have booths in a couple antique places. There are always a few booths who the owners don't do eBay and price well for resale. I see lots of resellers coming looking for items in their wheelhouse.
What do you think is the reason? I think they are friendly, trusting in long-running sales ...
James Nichols Just out of curiosity, how big of an issue is theft at a both since you are not there all of the time? Do products go missing often? (I have a B&M shop)
@@onedayulookback6149 Reason for what? Your comment made no sense.
@@mileHIGHpro I haven't had an issue with theft, or if I did I didn't notice. Many vendors have locking showcases for smalls and valuables. Whomever is working has the keys.
@@onedayulookback6149 like Pete said, the older people don't sell online. Many specialize in certain items so when they have something different they usually sell it cheap. Other vendors do cleanouts and just price everything cheap. There are lots of transactions between vendors. So something could be brought in originally for $5 then another vendor buys it and then sells it for $20. That guy in the video selling insulators probably buys lots from other vendors and marks them up.
The insulator guy was tripping on mushrooms when he came up with that price. I would say to him that rare doesn't mean valuable, but hey at least he was present at his booth. Most of those places you never see anyone and have basically zero way to negotiate prices you have to basically pay asking price or walk away.
That's why I walk away and never go back. If a seller is not available to DEAL, there will be no sale. Period.
If you talk to the person at the check out, they will usually call the vendor to check if they'll take a lower price~
@@Buttermilkjug
It's the Seller's job to work for the sale. Not mine.
Typical woman way of thinking~ lol~
In dat boot no discunt .yes take advantage of them older people and lowball them like you did
Hey Pete, check out the Auction Professor on YT to learn about postcards. I've made a couple of thousand dollars since last summer from his vids. I knew nothing and now I can pick from 50 year collectors and grab great cards cheap. You want old real photo postcards of train depots, small towns, China and California. Everyone should check him out. The stuff is out there waiting.
I guess We now know who the real boss is.
