- In this watercolor demo you will see how to put some bright reflections over the dark parts as soon as the darkness brings balance in the painting.
As I think about how to paint light effects I have to admit that it's not about how to paint the light, but more about how to paint the darkness.

Wow! Another mesmerizing video, so beautiful to simply enjoy, yet so filled with information that I grab my journal and pencil to take notes! Value, color, temperature…so much to wrap one’s brain around when one is just and still and always learning. And as always, thank you for sharing for knowledge and your heart.
Dear Titus.
Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful piece of art and sharing your experience with us.
Kind regards,
Geertjan
Another wonderful, relaxing video. I Esp. loved the fishing trawler - looking forward to more of this. The title of the video reminds me of the song lyric from a Petra song "Sometimes a shadow dark and cold, lays like a mist across the road. Be encourage by the sight, where there's a shadow, theres a light."
You explaining how you see and make values, that is very helpful for the viewer. It helps a lot to truly see what the artist's intention was! Thank you!
Just stunning… your paintings are like a breath of fresh air. You are the chaser of light, amongst the shadows. ❤
Just lovely. A peaceful evening after a too busy week. Thank you, Titus.

Hi Titus, thanks again for the wonderful insight into your painting. Would it be possible for you to explain in one of your episodes how you light your studio when you paint. It sometimes looks quite dark and I notice you cover some of the windows. I am struggling to find the right light to paint in. Thanks again
Richard

Sun screens = awnings
Hi I am just thinking now of a question to ask. I am wondering how a darker graphite would work like an 8b with watercolour. I really like when you are explaining your painting process it’s brilliant thank you.
Piękne ciekawe prace.
Bekeken vanaf de Conradkade of vanuit de Suezkade? Ik ben al zo lang uit Den Haag 😂
👏👏👏👏👍👍
I think that those meticulous explanations of your paintings are delivered more efficiently by filming the process of painting. I used to like it better when you painted and let me interpret what you did! thank you.
I think the way he explains his process adds to the video I like it personally it’s brilliant
I have noticed that many of your paintings are of a darker more subdued values. Have you visited very light and bright areas, like the south pacific or the Caribbean, to see what effect it has on your value schemes?
I wish that you stopped painting at the blue green stage. It was so beautiful with this color combination and the stark white shapes. A poetic dimension - the dual-color-dimension - where I wanna be like in a no speak black and white movie ...but not speeded up ..slowed down!
