I would say, Live in Paris 1973 is their best, especially after the remaster. I like Saw Delight, but love this concert. Don't Say No has questionable guitar part. But on this concert, the guitar is much better. In general, Can songs shine through much more live, where they have room to breathe. Can is very much a live band
Listening to this on mushrooms right now. Incredible. Cascade Waltz is especially really beautiful. Fuck, how does one even describe this? Jaki's drumming is wild.

You're fvcking legend Frank- Thank you! Back in the late 90s, a few friends and I were kind of forced on a totally unplanned road trip from Chicago to LA, with a mandatory stop in Wyoming-don't ask. Anyhow, the only CDs we had were Tago Mago and The Residents-Duck Stab. Needless to say, my friends weren't to happy with me, whilst I was perfectly content! I must say, the looks on people's faces -especially in Wyoming and Utah- made the whole hellish trip absolutely worthwhile! 😃
Spoon Records are always looking for more audience recordings and broadcasts like this one. If you submit it to Irmin Schmidt via Spoon Records they might release it as they are now doing with the (now sadly late) Andrew Hall recordings circa 1975/6. Worth a punt.
How great is the quality of this recording. It definately transcends bootleg quality. Sounds like an inside job, a soundboard recording. Chief suspect, Holger !! Amazing !!
We've had the Aston live recording from 1977, to be followed by the Keele recording of the same year. I just hope this will be the third release from that same year.
This collection starts with one of two fabulous versions of "Fizz" recorded in Great Britain '77 the other one is more guitar dominant, and the keyboards have a different tone. The voices in this version are a little more pronounced, but still delightfully unitelligible. This song provides some of Karoli's finest guitar playing imho. Fabulous dynamics amd rhythm lead trade offs. Liebezeit on the skins may be the most under-appreciated drummer ever
Jaki is my fave drummer and why Can are my fave band. The most talented guy in the band, his rhythms are utterly sublime and make the whole thing work. (and I like a lot of fabulous drummers).
Rosko is great on bass giving CAN new levels of groove, I will say however that Holger was much more dynamic over the course of a track, Rosko is a machine whilst Holger is an evolving entity

Thanks a lot! Discovered it today and I am very about that. I bought my first CAN LP 1970 and I have always loved Saw Delight. Do you have another CAN show?
the music 🎶 🎵 👌 😍 🙌 😌 🎶 live is always better U can see 👀 😉 🎶 what kind of groove the band has that 1 person makes a difference 😀 😉 usually the drummer or the bass guitar 🎸 player 😉 😀 😄 🤔 😎 OMG 1 29 2O23
Have an almost identical show but better quality recorded at Leicester on the same tour but it was not a BBC recording but from local Nottingham Radio Station 'Trent Fm'. Could this be the same gig? The sound engineer holds the original 1/4"mixed master reels recorded on the night. They are pristine sound but not mine to upload as I think he is hoping they get them licensed at some point. But very pleasing to see someone uploading these quality live sets. Have you got any 70's rock bands in this quality?
The world is a lighter place for the Can were here 🙏🏽
One of their best

8:35 that vocal sample was used almost 10 years earlier by Holger for his solo project technical space composer's crew.
This is one of the best if not the best live recording the great Can ever made !!
True.

What a great combination of albums, Can and The Residents, back to back, doesn't get better than that!

geil.... Saw delight habe ich noch als schwarze Scheibe ..wie auch Landed, I Want more..Unlimited Edition und und...
Haha. I was getting high listening to pink Floyd AT First... discovering Can changes things
Early Pink Floyd was my first love, and I still adore them both!
A true gem hopefully it will be in the new official Can live releases..😁
It will! Irmin confirmed a couple of weeks ago this will be one of the next releases.
That is great news , I am already drooling at the prospect .

THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting this, whoever you are.
The quality is superb. Can is 1 of thee most important bands for all time!
I think that last part of Call Me (around 1:26:00) appears as Godzilla Fragment on The Lost Tapes
Holy moly, you're totally correct! The mixing is slightly different, but it's the exact same segment

There's a few other concerts/versions of Fizz circulating the web besides the two you mentioned.
@@SL-mu4lp I would love to hear other versions, I was only referring to ones I am familiar with on this Great Britain 77 collection
Can is my favorite band! Thank you,Sir.
I was there!
Not BBC In Concert. It's from Radio Trent.
Thankyou so much for posting. I love Can. Ege Bamyasi is my favourite, but I love all their stuff. They changed when Roscoe Gee joined on bass.

Can was what Can am whether Holger or Rosko on bass. This band jammed
@@adamcraneguilford6236 not saying one is better than the other, just an observation. There's definitely not enough Rosko recordings as well
This gonna be shared.. quality. From 77. Herd once. Bombness
Really cool gig! many thanks. The best Can I've heard.
This is truly beautiful! Thank you for posting

This is great a fan since 1970 saw them a few times starting in 73 with Damo and definitely in 77 but cannot remember where 😂
Awesome thanks
Thanks for posting!
That's why the band was disbanded soon after. Thank you for posting anyway!
Not sure what you mean here. Streets ahead of competition. Or are you being sniffy coz they ain't replicating your particular favourite album?
@@GIGGYSMILER01 because they are repeating themselves starting around 1976. What's Irmin Schmidt called an old dog. The band was disbanded then.
That's rubbish.
Have been listening to the various can live vinyl and think this is the one I would like most, but don't think it has made it onto vinyl yet? Will it?
I guess it will

Hi frank I have found the Elektric Music Stockholm show, would you like me to send it to you?
No mate, don't worry ! ;-)
Thanks for the heads up though !

Yeah if those get licensed, I'd be happy to delete this upload.
Sadly, no. I'm more of a new wave fan, so Can is an exception.
Оп Ять Подсел?! 😂
And why Jackie liebezeit left.
Holger left.
No one left they all died
@@piked261 Only Irmin left now, and Damo is doing his own thing too.
Jaki never left.
Have you done your research? Jaki never left.
Now I know why I stopped buying their records after 1975
Why? This is prime Can right here. While the albums past '74-75 are far from their best, as an improvisational live act they were better than ever.
