I attended this show with my brother! I was 23 and he was 21 at the time. We ran into upstate friends at the concert. What a time it was! One of my favorite memories with my brother! Fast forward to 2020, and my son graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh during the pandemic! ❤😊

I was there as an usher. The balcony swayed so much they called in Boston surveyors to ensure that the structure was safe for future concerts.
I remember a Talking Heads concert that was aired by a local radio station. This may have been the one. I also remember that I recorded it on a cassette tape and now will be on a mission to find it. Then I'll be on another mission to find a player!
I'd love to combine the Tourcoing audience video with this audio source. The equalizing did wonders to it, the raw recording I heard was so poor. The bass in this show was surprisingly strong. It's similar to the Bruxelles show a day earlier.
Please, use this EQed recording as you'd like !
@@Blank_Frank That's awesome, thank you! Would you be able to share a lossless version or if that's not possible a MP3 version without the UA-cam compression of your equalized Tourcoing recording? Recreating the audio stream of the video is a big effort and I'd like to make it as good as it can be. I wouldn't want to use a more compressed audio source if a better one is available. I'll credit you of course and I'm more than happy to share my raw video file with you when it's finished. My recent NYC 1998 concert remaster gives you an idea of what I'm doing. I'll replace the original poor quality audio stream with a better recording of the same concert without altering picture quality. The original Tourcoing video has a rather boomy, loud sound and distorts in places. This equalized recording would make for a nice upgrade.
@@Fuchsfein Unfortunately this upload was made with my previous PC/hard drive (which crashed back in 2020) and I didn't made a copy on an USB device; so long story short I don't have the files anymore. Have you tried looking for them on soulseek ? I believe I found the original audio there and applied some EQ, reverb and compression with FL Studio after that.
@@Blank_Frank That's okay, no worries, thank you for the reply. I still have the original audio somewhere. I faintly remembered at the back of my head that the Tourcoing audio recording I had wasn't that nice (yours in the video sounds great) but maybe I'm confusing it with Paris L'Olympia 1991. I'll dig through my old hard drives, I know I have it somewhere.

I was there.. As I recall it was a warm up gig for a festival Not many there I think During one song they completely missed the vocal part or got out of synch

Southpark Meadows was such a great place. It's all box stores today. I saw the B-52s , maybe the year before. It was at the Austin Opera house. Kate Pierson had a red shirt on, I was standing right in front of her and could hear her actual voice over the amplification, I do remember she wasn't wearing a bra LOL

I'm 17 and I am so devastated that I will never get to see talking heads live they're my favorite band of all time and I know the shows must have been amazing
Don't feel bad kid. I'm 64 and despite loving the Talking Heads since the band began, I never saw them live either. At least you have an excuse.

“Try All You Want” and “Free Will” were the highlights for me
I was there and completely drunk, swinging from a tree branch. It was an incredible show. Tina was 7 months pregnant and killing it on bass.

Thanks so much for share this! I was eight years old when my parents gave me Whammy on vinyl (with Don’t Worry). I have it yet. Here in Perú 🇵🇪 we still listen to them on traditional radio 📻 (at 80s they did sound all day every day on every local station). I’m a B-52’S fan and have all records o vinyl, cassette and CD -except Good Stuff vinyl album, but have a lot of singles on vinyl. Of course, I was really young. But now, I do think Whammy! Is their best album and Big Bird their best song. Thanks again !!! ❤❤❤ 🔥 🔥 🔥
