Attatch the egg and let it hang down somewhere so it actually pulls the end of your cord and go a little slower. It took me ages to figure that thing out but it is faster than knitting 😅
I think it's the weight too. haven't used this but a similar style knitting machine contraption. There has to be something pulling things down otherwise things get jammed up.
I bought an addi egg and I too could not get it to work - it was really crappy plastic - same as yours but I have read that there are cheap knockoffs being sold so I think that this is what I got - I am not going to buy another either - bought a tulip icord works fabulous and Noreen Chrone-Findley has an icord that clamps down and works really well with different yarns. Mine was definitely junk!
I wonder if this one was a knock off also. It was really cheaply made. At the very least, it seemed like a resale of a returned one because the box was beaten up. Oh well! I'll definitely look into the tulip! That sounds really cool!
You didn’t put the handle on all the way. It will click in place and then it won’t come off. Also, the weight needs to hang down to keep the cord pulling in the right direction.
@@auntmelissacrafts I also hate mine! Tried 4ply sock yarn, DK, tight spun, looser yarn, nothing works. It always catches and makes tuck stitches. I have several i cord machine that work a treat and also full size machines and an Addi 22 - and can get great knits from all, but this is rubbish! Shame on Addi for charging so much a piece of junk.

Ah! So the weight is the problem! Thank you for explaining!

Thanks! Yes, I see where I went wrong, lol! I've been playing around with it some more with some success; I need a lighter yarn, I think!
You didn’t let the weight do its job!
I want to give it another try!

Thank you! I will try it again 😁
Couldn't get on with mine at all. I binned it.
I'm glad it's not just me! I'm going to try again, but need a break, lol!
