May God bless uour Journey Rob,stay safe, your videos are addictive, remember your old military training at all times, remember when camping the old Army saying "one underneath is worth Two on top" a blanket below you while sleeping,is worth 2 blankets on top of you 🙏😊
I would consider your journey as what the Australians call a walk about... good opportunity to let go of the past... stay positive and positive things will happen... your also gonna find out how good people are on this journey
A folding saw might be very useful. They’re lightweight. 🙂 what an event to see a cougar, glad you are safe. That view was amazing. There’s many more ahead. Surprised you haven’t seen another hiker. So excited to see this video. Hope you are getting good sleep.
Hey Rob you are doing what I've wanted to my whole life enjoy it and find your peace . I turn 65 this year and have had 22 surgery's and I've got,4 stents in my heart. When will get to some remote spot on the side of a mountain cliff pee off the side for me LoL wish I could walk with ya . Enjoy it brother.!
Never let your socks be wet while walking. It causes blisters as do loose or very worn socks. Please take care of your feet. Enjoy your adventure. So far the view is gorgeous.
Imagine telling this guy how to live. He’s been doing it far longer than you. I’m sure they know the common problems that are faced when living your life outside.
I am not a hiker, wish I was but I’m old and fat now! I gotta admit I’m really jealous of your journey!! Such a cool experience!! Keep filming, looking forward to your adventures!! Take it all in buddy!! No rush, enjoy this blessing.
Me too 😂 old and fat . I can't travel far from the Dr 😐 I got stay at home Base. I live in my RV. I . just put a motor , transmission , rear end in my RV. By myself 🤣 peace ✌️
I wonder how many people have walked that trail .love and Hug's go with you I may be 67 but I care.so many people care Be safe always. Thank you for sharing this with us and taking us with you Hugs from far away. Stay strong.
That's so wild about the cougar, wow! Its so beautiful traveling with you, how ever you hold the camera its perfect, its like I'm there with you. Take care too, Thanks Rob.
What’s up brother, I have been watching you since the beginning but really haven’t commented at all. Just wanna tell you keep your head up and do what your heart tells you, it’s the best way to live your life rather than questioning every move you make. Just go where your heart takes you and we will be here for the ride. Thank you for the awesome content you’re an amazing person and everything will be OK. Looking forward to the future videos and be safe out there!
Late night vid, rob? geez...you're spoiling us with all this content..haha. You rule bro. I relayed one of your vids on my facebook and I know some friends are family are now supporters. I'll get something to donate...I donate to a few other patreons, but WE ALL NEED TO SQUEEZE YOU IN. I'm trying. Am I supposed to say "FIRST"? Whatever...super happy for another video, that's all that matters.
I drove home from work in my lunch break, and walked back to work. I live only 1,5 miles from work, maybe I took a bit longer way back to work, but you inspired me to walk :) Hehe. After work, I walk home and I don't need to worry about the rush trafic. God bless, and stay safe with Jesus. He is the only one who can save you.
I would be shaking in my boots if I had seen that wild cat ,your very brave walking into the unknown with only a pepper spray, make sure to rest up well and take care of your feet, enjoying the video once again ,well done and take care,
That must have frightening! I'm glad that cat didn't follow you! OMG! I'm in love with our Father Father God's creation; what beauty! You might have to wear your sandals! Praying for your safety and your feet to heal! Stay blessed.
Follow the evergreen road! For blister protection I like to wear a thin nylon sock liner and wear a light smartwool or darn tough brand merino wool sock. I tie my boots using the "woodsman tie" lace up your boots all the way before tying wrap around your ankle then tie your laces using a square knot. Provides more ankle support and your laces won't get caught on vegetation. If you feel any Hotspot stop apply moleskin. Happy trails!

What you are doing is so insping. Walking is what men have been doing since the beginning. You can be proud of yourself. I will probably open a channel soon about a small cabin I have in the mountains where I am. Will share my videos to you ;) Carry on, this is the trip of your life!

Enjoyed the video. Beautiful mountains, especially with the rain. In a previous video I had the thought you had nothing to cut with, especially being in the mountains. In this video you mentioned not having anything to cut with. I thought that was cool. We hope you enjoyed all the new experiences hiking in the mountains offer. We love the mountains.
My Dad was primo , he started taking us out in nature and camping early in life. That trail looking rough cuz you're the first one through this year Rob , another first. You can't imagine how I want to walk that trail. You have any idea the people sitting at their desks, trapped in a traffick jams, dreaming of doing exactly what you're doing ? Great video mate. Yes, my feet deteriorate rapidly walking with a heavy bag and tarmac. Its actually quicker than softer ground, but its wayyyy less enjoyable with the problems that pop up, which happen a lot less on softer ground. Walking on tarmac is also a lot worse for your joints - I would say humans are not designed to walk on tarmac, its a relatively new thing when you think about (last 100 years or so).
Awesome video! FYI, if it growled at you, it was not a mountain lion. Most likely a coyote, they come in many color phases, brown is pretty common. This time of year it probably has a den with pups, that's why it didn't run, and why it growled at you. Also, I saw more rattlesnakes in Pennsylvania than other state on the AT, be alert for them.
It was a mountain lion. It wasn’t a dog growl, it sounded like a lion. Just a quick growl as it jumped because it was startled. I’ve been surrounded by coyotes when I accidentally walked up on one, growled at by them when I was making weird noises and they came after me in my tent. And they were my neighbors for the last 8 months. Plus I saw it. Yeah I’m worried about the snakes. I’m careful though. And thank you!
