Haha when I saw the title of the video and when I heard some comments I was thinking the same thing….Never commit never say never! Last garden tour of the year you never know, anything could happen.
Also regarding backtracking that made me smile. First rule of UA-cam is whenever you speak bad of a rose, it has a habit of turning itself around and for the better. It kinda just happens like magic. Forget fertiliser or feed. If you want a rose to do well say something bad about it! Works a charm. 😂😂😂.
Your compassion is lovely. As are your other roses they looking great. That princess Charlene……😂 well done

Parting is such sweet sorrow, as the Bard said. But we gardeners know that next year all our roses will be back to greet us again! The turnaround with Benjamin Britten seems to have proved that talking to your plants, or in your case threatening them with terminal violence, works. The colours and shapes of your Princess Charlene and Distant Drums are very tempting, as I may have said before. Your Rose of the Year, Compassion, was a surprise, but I'm always interested to hear of outstanding performers in other people's gardens. I am very happy with my new Harkness rose, Rosemary Harkness, too , which has surprised me and just gone over the 5 foot mark, which probably counts as a small climber, although listed at 3.5 feet in height. But then Sweet Honey is still listed as growing to 3 feet when we know it easily reaches double that height. We are all looking forward to seeing what I am sure will be a lorryload of new roses arriving in your garden over the next months. In a way the anticipation of new roses arriving in the winter is as exciting as seeing them perform in the summer. To quote Arnie: Hasta la vista, baby!

Please do a “ best performing rose “ video for us. You have so many to choose from. I’m intrigued to see what you choose.

@@Lin_Greenfinger You are asking me to choose my favourite of all my lovely children ... How can I possibly do that? Well, Ok, I'll think about it - if my roses survive long enough ... but you do realise that the roses I pass over may sulk and not bloom for me next year? Roses are very sensitive little flowers, easily offended.

A lovely collection. Never a dull moment. Very well done with your Chandos Beauty. Your 'Rose of the Year' winner is one of my favourites too. I'm not sure about the 'short climber' though. Mine is, and another I've been looking after is, well over 10 feet tall. I shall be taking mine down a bit though as it's getting very tall but really beautiful. Yours looks lovely. I won't wish my time away but will be looking forward to next year's display and comments. Cheers! P.

Thanks for this last tour. I have Princesse Charlene de Monaco, growing in a pot since last year and the flowers are nice but I think:
-I chose the wrong place because my house is almost in the same hues so when she blooms it's not very noticeable
-I have to wait quite a bit between flushes...
    - I have a very bad sense of smell but I do notice her scent
-I bought her because of their website it was written the blooms were huge and reminded them of peonies. I agree that the blooms are quite big !
I have one that is a real powerhouse, I'm gonna make a video about her, she'll be my rose of the year !
The Emma B; rose seems disappointing, too bad that's the only one they released this year.
Excited to see which bare roots you're getting !

Hi Lin, as I mentioned once before, I, too, have a couple of Princess Charlene De Monaco....we must be extremely fortunate, because whilst due to blackspot, I had to defoliate one of the bushes ...the other is in truly great condition, and a very good size. Both grown in pots. Even the defoliated bush gave some extremely good, first flush blooms.
Thanks for your videos, looking forward to the new season already!

Hi Peter. Yes, I remember you had PCdM too. My plant is healthy all summer and has given me 2 flushes.
Let’s look forward to next year. I have a few roses on the way . Can’t wait to show everyone!

My roses are winding down too. My Spring bulb orders are arriving so planting them will be my focus later on in the Autumn. At least I have loads of your videos and your brother’s videos to enjoy over the winter months. Look after yourself ❤❤❤ Also, I am not impressed by Emma Bridgewater rose either.

Lovely Roses Lin. I have a feeling it won’t be your last garden tour of this year though. I usually still get lots of blooms into November. My strawberry hill is flowering profusely at the moment and would say it’s the best ever. I believe your Pheno Geno rose is known as Theo Clevers (Bozkatafra). I have a few from that breeder and like yourself managed to get one for just under £2 it bounced back so they are really good roses.

@@Tom-ku3bf I might need to backtrack again😜 Depends if I have anything interesting to share. My Strawberry hill has never been strong , few blooms here n there. Wow, you got Pheno Geno for £2. Bargains 😮😁👍

@@Lin_Greenfinger yes it’s normally not very good. It’s covered in blooms at the moment and the foliage doesn’t have blackspot. The one I Geno rose I got from dobbies was Lemon Vaza I think they call it Virtue Celebration.

I think I may have missed my opportunity to make my last garden tour. Majority of my roses were totally destroyed after yesterday’s down. I have a feeling this won’t be your last video for this year. I think you may need to make another backtrack video 😂 nevertheless a positive end to your rose season Lin green finger!!

It’s not too late. It’s always difficult to make this video as roses peak at different times. Your best performing rose may not look so good at the end of the season , yet we need the time to see which performs 😓
I’d love to see which rose you choose. I promise not to mock😁

@@Lin_Greenfingertruth right there. Very difficult with timing. You could film earlier in year and upload later, but Ken you could use older footage from peak season and overlay fresh audio. That is what I intended to do but mine was rushed. But I think that’s the best way to get around it. I’ve done this in the past and I think it comes out ok.

@@Jay_Jayyes you’re right Jay, certainly timing is everything. With all that rain we had, I may have miss my opportunity. Should have saved some previous videos for rainy days. I remember last year Dilly was releasing videos with her flowers in full bloom in December, of course I knew this videos she’d made in summer.
