Pieiron mulberry cobbler & peach crisp. Two super easy, three ingredient camping recipes

- Spring has sprung in the garden and I have so much fresh fruit! So of course I want to take it camping and toss it into a pieiron. For dessert, I made a peach crisp (also works with apples, pears, cherries, etc). For breakfast, mulberry cobbler (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and canned peaches also work great!).

If cast iron is more your speed, I sometimes use a Rome XL pie iron. It's a bit heavy and needs to be seasoned, but make for a slower, more even cook.

Yes! I don't know if you have them where you are, but Sportsman's Warehouse usually carries a decent selection of pieirons.
Have you ever done "salads in a jar"?? We've prepared them for tent camping in our set up...
I have heard of them, and I do love jars, but I generally keep salads on my at-home menu, asI use camping trips as an excuse to eat like a total trash panda. 😄
We had a Rome XL pie iron. Used it twice and it developed a hole. Don’t think it was supposed to do that, so we returned it. The store manager said he’s never seen that happen. Who’d a thunk… 😂

I don’t remember what I was referring to at that time, but currently, I’ve been thinking about trying a Loona. I’m just struggling with the fact it has a snap lid (rather than screw top) and that it’s $40. So I’ve still got the Dollar Tree container. 😂
