This is the festival "New Wave" in Sochi (Russia). There was a competition of young performers and concerts of Russian artists. Dimash acted as a guest at the jubilee concert of the Kazakh group "A-studio". Baigali Serkebaev - the author of the song - plays the piano here. It was a phenomenal performance! Superb low notes at the beginning, unreal high notes at the end. And again the oriental tones in the song! Melismа in the finale together with the last "Дай" - 23 seconds! Dimash used kazakh singing technique. Saha people ( Russia) uses this technique too.

The ethnic part actually does not have anything to do with a funeral. I know this theory surfaced at one point so I asked and it's basically just a Turkic vocalisation. From a reliable source but I wish rather not to disclose.

I love seeing peoples faces when they listen to dimash for the first time. 😮. He is beyond amazing and a really nice guy with it. You are right about him sharing his khazak culture. He says he is a patriot and his childhood dream was to share khazak music and aspects of their culture all over the world. He has certainly succeeded. I bet there have been hundreds of thousands of people googling khazakstan in the last couple of years. He is the perfect ambassador for his country. He plays the dombra and other traditional khazak instruments. I THINK the warbling singing is called throat singing, it’s a traditional type of singing in the khazak, north eastern Russian and western Mongolian areas. If you look up Siberian throat singing there are some amazing singers that make otherworldly sounds with their vocal cords and usually a jaw harp too. Like you I love nightwish too, I’d love to see Dimash collaborate with Marco, Tuomas and the band and do some symphonic rock songs. He would sing “ghost love score” beautifully I bet. Normally The type of songs Dimash sings wouldn’t interest me but I’m hooked by his voice, honesty, humbleness, love for his country and obvious love and respect for both his family and “dears”. Dimash's dream was to present Kazakh music and culture to the world. Last year at Barclay's Center in New York he did that to an overflowing audience. There is nothing he cannot sing. ВОЛЬФ на 4:22 на «дай мне» качает головой - «слышал 1000 раз, но не могу поверить…».
ДЖЕФФ на 4:35 на большом вокализе в середине песни напрягся - «вау!», на финальной D6 сделал большие глаза и отпрянул. На 5:09 на гортанном восточном вокализе ничего не понял - такого, наверняка, еще не слышал: «Это звучит для меня (необычно)».
ВОЛЬФ доволен, посматривает на Джеффа и смакует его состояние музыкального шока.
ДЖЕФФ на 5:30 на трех «дай мне» замер и при переходе на финальный вокализ в 22 секунды в одно дыхание зашевелился, заулыбался, протер глаз, а Вольф, на него глядя, испытал при этом высшую степень удовольствия.
ДЖЕФФ, глядя на овации публики и букеты, только развел руками.

ДЖЕФФ возразил: «Как я говорил, Флориан, она великолепна, она потрясающая певица, но у нее «нет»… («чего нет» у Флоры, я не поняла и перевести не смогла, прошу прощения). Этот парень единственный в своем роде. Да, это звучит как для меня…».

This is the festival "New Wave" in Sochi (Russia). There was a competition of young performers and concerts of Russian artists. Dimash acted as a guest at the jubilee concert of the Kazakh group "A-studio".
Baigali Serkebaev - the author of the song - plays the piano here.
It was a phenomenal performance! Superb low notes at the beginning, unreal high notes at the end. And again the oriental tones in the song!

Did you notice Igor Krutoy standing in the audience at the end of Dimash's performance? He writes and plays piano for some of Dimash's music. Major mover and shaker in the Russian music industry. He is also sponsoring Diana Ankudinova who also comes from Kazakhstan in Far East Russia.
I believe that this was the performance which inspired Igor to come out of retirement and compose again.

He plays the dombra and other traditional khazak instruments.
I THINK the warbling singing is called throat singing, it’s a traditional type of singing in the khazak, north eastern Russian and western Mongolian areas.
If you look up Siberian throat singing there are some amazing singers that make otherworldly sounds with their vocal cords and usually a jaw harp too.
Like you I love nightwish too, I’d love to see Dimash collaborate with Marco, Tuomas and the band and do some symphonic rock songs.
He would sing “ghost love score” beautifully I bet.
Normally The type of songs Dimash sings wouldn’t interest me but I’m hooked by his voice, honesty, humbleness, love for his country and obvious love and respect for both his family and “dears”. He says he is always striving to improve his singing and instrument playing.

Dimash sings in several languages, plays several instruments and has recently received his master's degree in music. Both parents are singers. Dimash's dream was to present Kazakh music and culture to the world. Last year at Barclay's Center in New York he did that to an overflowing audience. There is nothing he cannot sing. So happy to see you appreciate him.
