The great maestro, Igor Krutoy heard him perform two or three years ago and has taken him under his wing allowing Dimash to sing his songs and participating in writing songs with Lara Fabian for Dimash.

@@elenar128 - Yes, after Dimash completed his Masters Degree in Composition, he was supposed to do an overseas music study program at the University of California, Los Angeles this past April (2020), but the Covid 19 pandemic prevented him from attending that program. I also read somewhere, he would like to complete his doctoral studies in music.
Have a look for "The drunken Concubine", it's well into the low 'fry' range and why some suggest he's a little over 7 octaves - and that's just what he's shown and been recorded, and if he's allowing a little leeway to ensure he can hit the notes during the performances...

He is famous with 6 octaves man. His range from C1/D1 to D8. He sing this song from B2 and the highest note is E6. But the range doesn't matter. He filled every song with every different emotion. Next song usually sinful passion, but maybe u want to listen screaming, or the show must go on, 👍

his non-melodic growls don't really count towards his range bc of how disconnected they are from his chest voice, with his growl starting in the first octave and his chest ending at E2. a representative range for him is E2-D8 which is very nearly 6 octaves but still

This was Dimash 1st performance in The Singer where he was introduced to China as well as the rest of the world, he became an overnight sensation after this performance. Dimash sing in 12 different languages and play multi instruments. Trust me, you have seen nothing yet. I Am A Singer is a competition for professional singers. Dimash was invited as a wildcard. But after his first performance SOS (viewed by 600million) he became a sensation.
The director of the Pop academy China said in an interview that Dimash is the most advanced singer in the competition. That in 2017! Now he´s unreachable perfect, a true artist who has EVERYTHING music lovers appreciate.
Dimash is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan, he started singing lessons and 5 when it was found he has perfect pitch. He is university educated with degrees in classical opera, another in contemporary music, pop and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has just (18th June 2020) completed his Masters specialising in Composition, and receiving his Masters degree with Honours, having achieved the maximum score of 100% and has just started his PhD. His range is over 6 octaves (7 now) but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it.
In this performance he was 22 and in a competition for famous professional singers in China he was invited as a wildcard and after this one song was catapulted to stardom and is now a pop superstar in China. He is now also famous in Russia mainly for his neo classical work with Igor Krutoy and many of those works are very operatic. His vocals range from a rich bass baritone through to an extremely high soprano and his whistle register has hit a D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato. He is on a solo world tour tight now and in his concerts he sings for around 3 hours with an eclectic mix of styles. He is from a very musical family both parents and his sister sing, mother is a soprano. Dimash was offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far, but I suspect world domination will soon come his way. He is a multi instrumentalist too and is very competent with 8 instruments but can play just about anything. He is 26 now, and is mostly known as a live performer, he has released a triple platinum album in China though. It has been recognised that his high notes are not whistle, but head voice, Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does its spectacular like everything else about him. He has billions of fans worldwide and I am definitely one of them, and he calls us his Dears, as we are all as dear to him as his family, and he means it, he knows who helped to make him famous. He is a softly spoken, polite, elegant and very humble respectful young man. He deserves every bit of the success he is having, he has worked very hard for the past 20 plus years and now his dreams as a young 5 year old are coming true. There is an interview he did for BBC World Service in 2018 where the interviewer showed a drawing he did when he was 5 of him singing on a big stage with microphones, speakers and his beloved music cassettes showing his desire to be where he is now. His recent sellout world tour has been postponed due to the covid-19 epidemic but will restart when its safe to do so. He has concerts lined up in Dusseldorf, Prague and Minsk there will be others. The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to write the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add to the universal declaration of human rights another article (they would become 31) whose wording would be as follows " All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing ". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, whom I could talk to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, 1 year ago, I met this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), last March 7, 2020. Welcome to the world of Dimash💜😁💜. This was in 2017 when he was 22 yrs old. He just turned 26 this past May. He is just becoming better known in the West as he had a solo concert in NY this past Dec. filled the Barclay Center and overflow with 19,000 people from many different countries and nationalities!! Dimash is a huge humanitarian and very deeply rooted in his culture and values. He also does not follow one music genre and considers himself nei-classical.

SOS is considered one of the five most difficult songs in French. He has masters degrees in both classical and contemporary voice, and just got his masters (perfect score) in composition, and was invited to do his doctorate (which he accepted.) At some point he was offered a position in an opera company, which he refused to focus on his chosen career in classical crossover.

(I didn't mean his vocal range, which of course is ALSO impressive, but his techniques and the range of expression he chooses for each piece. A true artist.)

Dimash is simply THE BEST 💖 You are perceptive and you know your profession - I did not immediately notice the correlation between the lighting colors and the mood of the song 🤪 This is the "I am Singer" contest in China, but not like Voice etc. Only famous, established singers are allowed to participate by invitation. It stands at a high artistic and musical level and lasts 4 months. Dimash was invited as a wild card, the only foreigner, the youngest in the history of the competition. He opened the whole set because he was unknown, other competitors heard him for the first time (you saw their reactions, they were shocked). After this performance, it became a nighttime sensation in China. Now Dimash is huge in China, loved and respected. The world got to know him through this competition. He was recognized by specialists around the world as the best singer of our time. He sings in 12 languages and plays many instruments. He sings all genres of music and is a wonderful humble person. Dimash has a lot of songs on his channel. He has been very busy since then. His first album, ID, went platinum in 37 seconds, triple platinum in an hour, and five times platinum in day one. He has already had many sold out huge concerts in China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, London as well as New York in December 2019 (Barclay Center). His European Arnau tour was has been interrupted by covid 19. This contest was in 2017. All songs are gems, worth seeing for you. The guys you didn’t know who they are, are the other contestants of this competition. It was the first episode of the I‘m singer season in 2017 and he performed first. I guess the other contestants were shocked and afraid to sing after him. 😅 Great that you noticed the lights, the camera work and so on. @@m.bk.3928 Thx..didn't know that. Quite different from that genre of shows most everywhere else, apparently. X factor usually has one or two paid 'ringers' from what I understand, to make sure there is something worth watching, but that seems to be about it. Sing Off seemed to be the most genuine one I ever saw, promoting the likes of Pentatonix and Home Free, two very good a Capella groups, and I saw some decent talent on the Voice, but many are just completely staged scripted junk. If you haven't heard Home Free, give them a listen. Superb voices, blend, and arrangements, and one of the best (musical) beat boxers I have ever heard. Early (when Avi was bass) Pentatonix was very good, too, still are, but not like then.

Fluffys Mum - thank you so much for the information regarding Dimash. I have been following this brilliant young man’s journey for the past 3 years. At 76 I have never joined a fan club until now and feel very fortunate and privileged to be alive to witness this once in a lifetime talent. Apart from his musical ability he is the most humble, truly patriotic and decent human being imaginable. I’m sure this will never change having watched videos of Dimash able to move freely through airports in China, to being followed by Dears as his fame spread following Singer 2017. His first solo concerts where he was so overcome with gratitude at the loyalty of his fans. He has remained true to his beliefs, long may that remain.

This was a Chinese competition on the Singer 2017. He was a wildcard and is from Kazakhstan. Dimash was 23 here and singing in French which is not his native language. He has a wide counter vocal of at least 6 octaves, maybe 7 he says, but he doesn’t care because the performance and fan reaction is what interests h most.
He has been training since the age of 5 as his mother is an Opera singer and his dad sings as well.
Many believe he is the best vocalist of our time.

You say that but you have only seen one video so far if you watch more you will realize that every song he does he adds something to that will blow your mind, it never ends with him. at least 6 octaves, sings in 12 languages, he is the best singer alive, and he is truly humble too. Yes, he is a generational singer. No one can sing like he does. He has 6 octave range at this time He was 22 years old during this competition in 2017. Now at 26 years of age,he has developed 7 octaves with 2 semitones.

I've gone down several rabbit holes with these Chinese shows, and I have to say the production of every one of them is extremely well done - from lighting and staging to background vocals and musicians. Tons of talent there! This particular show, Singer, has established professional singers competing against each other with the audience as the judges.

Some info about Dimash. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schollld sens 5 years old! He Sings aboute 7 oktaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano kan go! He also writs and compose own songs, playes bunch of instruments including Dombra there own instrument that has a sound you cant belive! He also sings in aboute 12 languages and speaks 4 so far. He is born in 1994.
This was his first song in the chinese competion "The singer" from 2017.
The Singer 2017 was a program for established singers to face off against each other invites oneley in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500. The series premiered on 21 January 2017 and ended on 22 April 2017.
Dimash Kudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Importent little brother" the day after the show.
