You really put a lot of effort into this video and I hope it eventually gets the recognition it deserves! Super Mario RPG was my favorite game growing up as a kid and to have a full story break down with witty humor really made my day. Can’t wait for the remake!
I still have my original copy of this for the SNES. It's one of my prizes possessions. I've lost so much of my childhood over the years and managed to hold onto this. It was one of my all time favorite games I sunk so many hours into grinding and finding as many secrets as I could in it. I haven't played the remake even though I have a switch but I'll get around to it. It was so much fun as a kid playing this game.
Back in the day, mushrooms in the wild were referred to as "toad stools" sometimes. As if toads sit on them in the forest. Hence... The princess of the mushrooms? Princess Toadstool. Like Bowser was tge King of the Koopas. 🤷
This video was great! I loved the humor, the editing and overall pacing of the video. SMRPG was actually my first videogame and also the first one I fully completed, so it holds a lot of nostalgia. Super excited for the remake!
Oh man so glad I found this, I remember playing this, along with A link to the past and super mario world at my friends house in early tto mid grade school throughout the 90s. we were so young then couldn't get past Davy the shark boss in the sea. whew this brings back memories awesomeness.
So apparently, with Yo'Ster Isle something happened with either the music or programming where the button press is actually on the offbeat of the song. So when the cymbal clashes in the song, you play inbetween them. I can't do it perfectly still, but I've had more chances beating it with that in mind than following the actual beat. Hope they change that in the remake...
I recorded a Let's Play years ago, probably around 2008 to post on the Something Awful forums. Me and my friend had an absolute blast playing it and trying to find every bit of trivia we could, some of which you even mentioned in this video. Also, I absolutely love how you added the commercials here and there. It really put me in the 1996 perspective. Excellent video! Gonna have to order me one of those back massagers. Sounds relaxing.
@@WesDoesGames I'll definitely be getting the game. As for making a video, it's on my to do list. I'm not sure if I'd do a coverage of both in 1 video or not yet still. All depends on what's feasible at the time.
Excellent video, very funny and a really awesome summary!! You should have way more subscribers....I certainly subscribed after watching this :) Keep it up, man!
I actually do not get that exited for games I played in my earlier years being remade for newer systems. I do not have a Nintendo Switch. If I did have one I would be unlikely to purchase the game. If I really want to play this game I still have my working Super Nintendo. It is the longest surviving console I own. I still have my original Super Mario Rpg Bros. cartridge as well.
I loved the Culex fight when I first played it as a kid, but decided to skip out this time around to save time. I'd be interested to know how the Culex fight looks in the remake
I really enjoyed playing the original version so I’m excited as hell for the remake, with that said considering the changes being made, let’s hope the enemies also scale to the changes.

Good to know, that scene always confused me. Looking forward to the remake too :)

Is it your own gameplay or do you grab the clips? Love the video lets work !
This video was phenomenal. I'm a tad disappointed we didn't hear your thoughts on the Culex fight, but other than that this vid is amazing.
