My favorite is the All Stars version of 3. I liked the visual upgrade, but the ability to save your game and go back to previous worlds seals the deal.
Whenever i see SMW level clips, im launched in a nostalgia trip of about 20 years back. It hits HARD. Memories like leaving school in the afternoon and jumping into vanilla dome 2. Eating pizza during forest of illussion. Being scared of the koopa clown car. SMW really was a game changer, and the start of a lot of childhood memories. Thank you so much for making this review!
You’re a crazy if you think the soundtrack for world is better than soundtrack from Mario three! Mario world has basically one song. Every single song in Mario three is unique.
The first video game I remember playing. Every time I go to my cousin house as a kid in the 90's all I do is play this. The Gba version does sound cheap., something a friend of mine noticed. Agreed on crispness of the SNES.
Glad you're enjoying the content! Thanks for watching! In terms of a Yoshi's Island video, maybe someday when the time is right. I definitely have some stuff to say about them.
You definitely can track what levels have secret exits and which ones you’ve gotten in the snes version. Other than the ghost houses, every level which has a secret exit has a red dot. On top of that, every level with a secret exit only has 1; this means that you’ve got every exit if the level with a red dot has another level coming out of it. Well there is one exception… that one part in the forest of illusion where there is a secret exit that crosses over another secret exit path. But yeah it sounds convoluted but it’s honestly very easy to understand once you’ve noticed it. There are only a few exceptions to this rule, and they’re too few to ruin it imo (the forest of illusion section and the ghost houses like I said).
When people ask what my favoeite SNES Game is, its Super Mario All Stars PLUS World. Luigi also looks updated in the world in this version to match his aooearance in 2 onward.
I was a kid Born in the 2000s and this was my very first game I played as a kid and I think playing Nintendo games exclusively actually made me more of a black sheep when I went into school because the kids were getting into overly violent gun games (I dont know what the kids were into in 2009). But I think Super Mario Bros. 3 is a far better Mario game than Super Mario World (which I also played VIA Super Mario All-Stars).
I find it funny hearing somebody talk about canon in a decades old Mario game. As a kid this ment nothing to me and I'm sure you didn't give it any thought either. Lore and canon in Video games are phenomena of the modern internet. Folks whining about lore or canon in gaming tend to pop up more and more these days. In the end it's just adult words for "playing make believe".
I don't know. Going to SMB World after playing SMB3 it just felt like going backwards. Personally, I found the exploration thing a lot better in Mario 64, and didn't mind the reduced number of power ups there, but in SMB3 vs World it's not just the sheer number of different power-ups, but that you can select any of them before going into a level that makes SMB3 a better game in my mind
It is too bad there is no actual snow levels or beach levels and sky levels unlike Mario brothers 3… the only real ice level is donut secret 1, which has pink ice instead of usual blue in other games. A bit of snow and ice together would of been a good level, the beach as well.
People look at me crazy when I say Mario 3 is my favorite game of all time over this one but the variety in worlds, power ups, and levels in Mario 3 is what makes Mario 3 a funner game to me
The right combination of super fun, sound, and challenge*! But, Mario's voice on the other later versions is very annoying! Could they have found an employee with a better voice for something like this?! Sonic had a much better character voice... *If you complete everything, you'll get quite a challenge. And, yet, if you can only beat easy games or want a quick game, you can do that, too
Not even close..SMB3 is way better than SMBWorld..a bigger difference than the last one by a huge margin..SMBWorld needed a lot more Mario transformations and a better enemy roster
I agree, I prefer SMB3 (namely, SMA4:SMB3) as well. However World is definitely still close in quality and is better for people who like exploration as opposed to a more arcadey fast-paced linear adventure packed with variety.
The videos would be better without such offensively bad gameplay. How many times do you need to put in a failed jump and death into the video? Were you even able to beat the game?!
Not surprisingly, considering the offensively bad gameplay on my part, but I wasn’t actually able to beat the game. I hate to admit this, but I had to steal some gameplay from a Super Mario World god named katolson8802, which is why the video even shows the ending of the game, secret world, and the 100% completion bonuses at all.
These videos are criminally underrated. Possibly the most enticing, in-depth reviews of these games ever.
They’re not underrated. Anyone who sees them and has the chance to rate them, rates them highly. They’re just largely UNSEEN.
I was born in 1983 and as of 2023 super Mario world is still my fav mario game

Same exactly but 30+ years ago instead of 20 lol

You can also use the cape to dive under the goalpost. I always thought that was the developers' intended solution.
I prefer 3, but I’d recommend World as someone’s introduction to classic Mario due to its lower difficulty, Special World aside.
He came to Dinosaur Land because he knew the Mario Bros and Peach would be vacationing there.
You’re a crazy if you think the soundtrack for world is better than soundtrack from Mario three! Mario world has basically one song. Every single song in Mario three is unique.
You’re crazy if you think that’s a good reason for 3’s soundtrack to be condsidered “better”. That is extremely petty.

I’m have been addicted to this channel for the past two days :|
Also, I would really love a yoshis island video from you.
Glad you're enjoying the content! Thanks for watching!

I really like your new artwork. Looks more like pixel art than your other artwork.
Thanks, I tried to use a lower resolution to get that more detailed and pixelly look compared to before. Glad you like it!
I just played through SMW on SNES. Ghost houses and castles definitely have dragon coins
And absolute masterpiece
You have a very nice voice to listen to

All is well said
I definitely think the early half of Mario world is boring, but Butter Bridge and beyond is really damn fun. That’s why I think Mario 3 is better
You could basically use caped Mario in every open level.
Have you considered making reviews of the Mario Land games? =)

The 64 levels start to get kind of bland after having played a few though
All stars was 93

@@KDubb-ws9zc I actually like Mario bros 3 better in that way too, since there’s warp flutes, suites, more challenges.

No way you just dissed Charles Martinet like that
By my estimation, 2 things wpuld make SMW better...On SNES....
1: The ability to play as Luigi.
2: multi directional tongue grab by Yoshi.
Not even close..SMB3 is way better than SMBWorld..a bigger difference than the last one by a huge margin..SMBWorld needed a lot more Mario transformations and a better enemy roster

I disagree. World doesn’t need all that extra fluff to be the better game.
Worlds map is not more visually interesting the Mario brothers three map!
Eh…
