Hey everyone! How was your weekend? I Had great fun restoring this old Frosts Mora knife for the past few days. Best part is one more in saved 😊 Thanks a lot for watching and support. It means a lot to me! See you next Monday 😊 Boris, Norway
I have virtually the same knife but with a finger guard behind the blade. I bought it new from E. Atkinson & Sons in Bowness on Windermere in 1984. After watching this, I think it’s time to give it some love…
This is great, the taking of a Skill, Art, Mastery- the Mora Sheath, and again in this video with the Mora Sheath, there is another Skill, Art, Mastery that is done! I am very impressed by it! I did not know such a great restoration was done with Knives. Got my first Mora Sheath knife in it was 1974. I just learned about this Knife Restoration Skill, Art, Mastery, that I see it as, as I just ordered one of your restored FFD RESORATTIONS- Mora Sheath Knives. Also great to see what I see being done with what I view as the greatest of Knives, the Mora Sheath (yes other great Knives too- people have their Knives), to have them restored to working order again- that would have otherwise been the end. Carry On.
Хорошая работа! На мой взгляд стоило убрать выработку клинка и восстановить плоские сканди спуски вместо линзы. Ширина клика это позволяет, а при снятой рукояти и вовсе несложно.
stunning beautiful job.....i can't help but be saddened over its history being erased with every scrap of sandpaper and such i would have carried it into the woods as it was I think it just looked so nostalgic and "lived"- i guess its new life starts with its new owner again stunning job subscribed !!
Thank you so much 😆👍 Glad to hear that! I appreciate the advice, this one is a bit different for sharpening from other knives from my previous experience, so I had to keep a bit higher angle. Otherwise I would remove to much of the blade keeping the optimal angle. Most likely will be only on the shelf... Anyway, thanks again and have a great week ahead 👋😉
👍 I really like those Classic knives. You made me rethink my opinion of the traditional red handles, but I would probably have tried to have left the wood a natural color. Really nice job! 👍
@@FFD_Restorations I just subscribed to your channel. I like the idea of saving old knives, these tools served their owners back when knives were perhaps more important or necessary than they may be today. If they met the needs then, they should meet our needs today. Keep up the good work and sharing it with us.
Great video again! I am currently restoring an old KJ Mora sweden. But my concern is when I am sanding with my P120 I am afraid I am gonna damage (wear off) the KJ Mora Sweden engraving, which I obviously would like to keep; any suggestion to avoid this??
Hey Luis, thank you for reaching out! Your question is spot on! I am dealing with this issue almost on every knife. Sometimes I use only a steel brush and clean it thoroughly. Or I start sanding the stamp and around with 240 grit, 320 or even 400 grit. This will take much more time but you have better control. In some cases I decide to leave all the pittings in order to keep the stamp. For someone that looks ugly, but for me is just fine ... Thanks for watching!
@@FFD_Restorations great feedback mate ! Congratulations again on your work. The knives looks amazing and watching your videos are as relaxing as sanding knives! ;-)
Brother you really need some hand vices they would he you alot with the small parts you could prob find some at rummage or junk shops with people not even knowing what they are for very cheap ... I love all your restorations always a beautiful outcome

Very nice, sounds great! Please do that 👍
That carbon Mora steel is so forgiving. No Mora is dead. Just needs some attention :) Thanks for the video. Edit: spelling error
My pleasure Tom! That is so true 👌
Thank you for watching 👍
Perfectly restored as always.

I just found my great grandpa's old mora out in the garage.. You're the first video I found.. beautiful work.. My next project..
Btw, what grit did you use on the blade
Cool find, god luck 🤞
If I remember correctly it was 120>240>400>800>1200 grit
Hey Boris, nice restoration. Love the outcome.
