Here where I am in Victoria Australia I get charges around $120 for 3 months which is the charge for the water meter connection and sewerage. water @ around $2.50 per thousand Litres. service charge for me is more than the water I use.
“do you know how much $47 of water is?” Today, probably a few gallons of triple ionized, hydrolyzed, aeronated, magnetized, and vitalized water from the Andes glaciers 😅
A friend of mine used to travel a lot for work and the company would pay for it. On the brighter side, he still got to keep the airline miles and hotel points.
If you go to a hotel now, they'll charge you $47 for those 1 liter bottles of drinking water in your room. I was fixated on all those payphones in the background. That's impossible now, unless this hotel has all the operating payphones left in California. ;)
Now, that's an idea - "$10 for the mint on your pillow when you arrived". I have had one restaurant charge, on the final bill $6, for the "complimentary champagne" which was offered to each guest at the start of the meal. This was for a top-end "all you can eat meal", near the end of the era of such things in Australia, circa 2010, when it was becoming increasingly difficult for them to break even.
@@hxhdfjifzirstc894 Yes, 2010, of course. Thanks for the catch. We paid, actually, after querying it. As I said, by 2010 it was becoming increasingly difficult to find an "all you can eat" restaurant, as they were losing money. This one had been a family favourite of ours for years, and the "all you can eat" was now only being brought for special occasions. We did, however, point out that not all the "complimentary champagnes" had been taken, and took some off the bill - LOL! We laughed, and kept it as family joke :)
Unfortunately, hotels do knit pick charges today. It's categorized under "Resort Fee", which is totally ridiculous in my opinion and should be illegal!
Light hearted fun 😂 When I worked on a supermarket checkout I used to make up stuff to get customers laughing & always had the longest queue because I made them smile
Did it ever backfire on you? My brother worked as a manager at a Pizza Hut and periodically made stuff up, too. One woman came to pay her bill asking for the senior's discount. My brother teased, "Oh, you're not a senior," to emphasize that she didn't look old enough to be a senior. Well, she tore into him in anger and demanded that he give her the discount showing her ID in his face as proof. Oh, he was embarrassed and learned something that day. 😄
Nice rebrand my dude. This is exactly what I was talking about, your old branding made it look like you were just some random guy uploading rips. Well done, the channel is looking good.
A charge of $47:00 for use of water to have a shower ? That, to an Englishman, would be about £40:00 for the shower. Oh, the Englishman would give you your water back - by pissing all over your shoes !
As much as they try to make it seem like candy camera 2.0 was as good as the original candy camera it wasn’t that’s why it got canceled within two years

I want to see the collection of clips where the victims punch these guys in the head for not being funny. Sharing that he said it was okay as his company will have to pay for it was not a good idea. Might have cost him his job.
This is what you end up with when you cannot think of a new prank ahead of filming. This is not a prank. It is an annoyance. The laugh track changes nothing.
That hurts. We don't even use the word "prank" - you've never heard it once in decades of Candid Camera. We do all sorts of sequences, and some are social experiments and consumer experiments. That said, it doesn't mean all viewers find it interesting. Everyone has an opinion about what we do. I respect yours. -Peter

Here in San Jose, it costs $50 per month just for the meter service charge. Any water use is in addition to that charge. Crazy!
Wow didn't know that! That's so crazy!
Wow that is thievery
What! Here in the California central valley, my bill is about $15/month for a large house

I can absolutely see this happening in SoCal with the water crisis maybe not $50 surcharge but a state utility tax on top of the tourism tax.
So funny. Love Candid Camera's Chris.
I stayed at a hotel once in Yugoslavia were you could only use water certain hours of the day.
He should have asked if they were "alone" in the shower 😂
Awesome skit!
Dang giving them ideas 😮
What a mean Candid Camera.
Back then, candid camera. Today, California.
The pay phones are really catching my eye. I rarely see them anymore!
I thought the exact same thing!!!!
Yes, you see way more cell phones now, and way less pay phones...
We have two pay phones in our county.
I keep looking at them also.
Great video
Great one!!!! 👍👍
I don’t have a pool in there… lol
