Oh my GOSH!!!! It's starting to look like a real house!!! We build our own house 26/25 yrs ago on our 17 acres and when I say we built it I mean we did A LOT of the work ourselves! Our Church came along side and helped A LOT!! We had already sold our other house and were staying a couple of weeks here and there over the Christmas holidays while friends where visiting family for Christmas. Jan 1 1999, we moved in .... no kitchen, 1 bathroom out of 41/2 finished, no floors down (sub floors down), no paint on the wall (just sheet rock) and had just gotten the heat in the week before! We have 3 children we homeschooled and they helped do electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring. WHAT an adventure and I would do it all over again!!! It is so worth it and I LOVE where we live and I pray someone in our family wants the house and property when that time comes. We are 75 and 73 and slowing down but still fighting!!! I can't wait to see the finished home!!!! I totally understand Rebekah's reaction and I cry with you!
Why is it that healthier people tend to be the ones to get disease at an early age? most of the health nuts I've met had, have, or are at risk of having cancer. meanwhile, my grandpa ate like a pig and smoked like a chimney with no medical problems. there's something in these health stores that's killing people
Aw when Becca cried🥹 I cant tell you the happiness and relief of a woman being happy in her home and with her home...Im yet to find/build our forever home and feel the same way...thats very big Justin! Im so so happy for you guys!!🙌🙌
That's cool that you have found some actual military guys to light the boys up in Air Soft. I really like you liver trick of frozen liver flakes. So great. Those guys are great for doing the Air Soft with the boys. Go Army! That looked like a great lunch. That spaghetti looked wonderful for dinner. Liver flakes to the rescue. The remodel is really coming along! It was cute to see Rebekah so happy! Thanks for this video Rhodes family!
I remember when Gideon was obsessed with short pants as well. Its so nice to see Gideon jumping in to help at the age the other boys stepped up. I was a little worried because he was "THE BABY" for so long. Now he's the big boy
I am so happy for you guys! What a cool thing to have your dreams and planning and brain baby come to a reality!!! You guys are in the last weeks of your house pregnancy! The waddling and back ache stage! The end is near! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!!!
We don't hide the liver, we eat it fried lightly in bacon fat with plenty of onions and my son loves it too. I took him a lunch of liver and onions to his job as a surprise and he was thrilled, at 39 he has always loved it! I guess we ate it growing up and it was always a favorite.
I think building a house is always emotional. Especially when it's something you've dreamed of for so long! I'm curious about how you're going to deal with all of the off gassing in the new house with all of the new materials. Please share!
So happy that your children have parents that really see their children as special individuals that have vision and talents. And are willing too give them room too grow too be the best at life on the farm or off .
I have trouble trying to balance it all just watching them. I truly don't know how they do it for real. it is exciting to watch the house really coming together and it was so sweet to see Rebekah crying over it. The liver trick sounds like a very good idea for those who simply can't eat it by itself. I gather at least Josiah and Lily are two of those who can't. I know the boys had a great time doing air soft battle with those two Army vets.
it's a big part of why they have health outbreaks from time to time - stress from learning how to process/deal with a ever growing business, Bekah's mother's ALS diagnosis, their kids maturing/changing needs/interests and the development of the land itself.
I really like how you are honoring "Stud" by using every bit. I look forward to seeing how you use other parts that were harvested. Very interesting! I have always hidden items in soups but it's usually vegetables. I never thought of liver! Thank you for opening my eyes to a whole new level of healthy deceit!😂😀 Take care, Rhodes Family! Always a pleasure!😀
Two of my brothers did drywall on stilts. Ruff work for sure. I'm enjoying both videos preparing for soft gun and the boys actually doing the action packed Training 😊
My mom ground liver a d added onions to it. She added some flour and made patties for me. She dried it in a car iron fry pan. I ate it for anemic issues. Yes, it was very good. 😊
If you ever feel like everyone in your surroundings agrees on how to cook something but they don't all like the dish, that's when you look into different cultures to see what they do. It is often overlooked that the people in your surroundings are mostly of the same culture. If I was to look for how to cook organ meat or non standard cuts I would look at french cuisine irish cuisine lower latitude cuisine and polar latitude cuisine because they have experienced famine in the last century or so, which translates to relatively modern cooking techniques used to make the most of what they had.
Struggling to get past the first 30 seconds of music.. ugh.. I post positive things every day and try to be very encouraging but some things have to be called out.. :D On paint, I have been a painting contractor and general contractor since the 1990's.. I highly recommend getting PPG if you can, and go for the Manor Hall line of paint. It makes a huge difference.. Yes it is more expensive but FAR less expensive than repairs or repainting every 5-7 years.. From older formulations I have gotten 13-15 years without any issue. Behr, Sherwin Williams, and others in my experience cannot make similar claims, particularly in humid environments.
liver is high in antioxidant Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase enzymes ... freeze drying is the best way to prepare to keep heat from destroying sensitive peptide bonds in the liver. if you purchase liver , only use New Zealand or Argentinian cattle - they are the purest and free of any diseases
HOOAH….my husband is a retired Army scout (20years). I have a feeling with all the boys you have you might end up with one or two in the military. Your deck looks really good.
His boys have so many other opportunities! usually men joining the Military have far fewer opportunities when joining, but can leave the military with many new opportunities.
I’ll just add that After my husband retired (age 40) we bought the small farm he grew up on. “IF” they joined they can always go back to farming after their service. They would have insurance, college, and other opportunities. I stand behind our military members and their families Always.
Will your deck be covered? If not, consider it. I LIVE on my deck and if it wasn't covered, that wouldn't be possible. Not to mention the mess weather causes when uncovered!! Just think about it. Harder to add it later, unless you just did a cheap vinyl or sheeting.
I figured out if I dehydrate the greens and powder and put it in the spaghetti hubby doesn’t know he is eating kale. Sorry Justin. Yes. Hubby is a Kale No guy also. Lol
The "liver bark" is an excellent way to get the family to consume it and reap the health benefits! Who knows, maybe next year some may like eating liver plain.
It's admirable to want your kids to stay home but making that your focus with them will inevitably push them away. A suggestion to empower them with projects that teach them skills, such as skills to manage a farm. Fence building, projects with the equipment, more welding jobs, teach them more about the whole farm and send to train with others to learn those skills, which you're doing a lot of already. Teach values and skills don't try to keep them trying to teach them.
2 Christian Army men on the homestead challenging the kids in a manly game of survival, too cool, excellent mentorship. I’d love to see your family join a church community. Your people barn would be a perfect church meeting house. Maybe you don’t share your religious beliefs on the blog but religion is a vital part of human flourishing. A hunger your kids are probably craving.
The quickest way to alienate an audience is to make the videos religious. I would hazard to guess you would back off your statement that "religion is a vital part of human flourishing" if it is a religion you did not agree with. Also, stating the Rhodes' children crave religion is annoyingly presumptuous and rude in the extreme.
Justin, that's brilliant putting ground up liver in in other foods. It's so good for you, most people don't realize that wild animals eat the internal organs before they eat the muscle meat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Jesus) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Romans 3:25-31 King James Version 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Rebecca! I'm so happy for you! You have had to endure a lot in the past few years and to see you tear up in your house, I felt the emotion with you!
Great adventure for the boys, the house build is moving fast now & thanks for sharing health ideas! Blessings 🤗🇨🇦
It's all romantic until it's real
Do you mean playing with guns?
Wow, finaly is starting to look like a house inside! Awesome! Blessings!
In Greece we love liver. Sheeps goats and cows liver! Cows liver is best grilled on charcoal or fried in some olive oil with onions.. Delicious!
Two of my brothers did drywall on stilts. Ruff work for sure.
I'm enjoying both videos preparing for soft gun and the boys actually doing the action packed Training 😊
Nice to see Gabriel learning to drive around the homestead already and helping out so much. House is looking great.

I’m just not into airsoft..I’d rather see more videos of Lily and her horses.. unless they’re gone now.💕🥰❤️
Liver is a game changer. May want to sneak in some heart and other stuff as well.
You all should get Warrior Poet Society out there.
Great Idea!!
I love liver, however, the rest of the family does not....what a great way to hide it!
Deck looks awesome 😎
We all need to be warriors... 💯 protect our families and friends in a world gone 🤪

quebec too but the problem is that the recipes have been butchered over time so you need to backtrack a bit more to find the roots
Like if you want John Lovell from Warrior Poet Society to teach these boys some skills.

He doesn't care. A lot of subs already complained about the editing.
All of the houses in Ireland are white with black trim. Very classy and very neat looking.
Can I recommend shoji white by Sherman Williams? It’s not too bright and kind of a mellow white. We have it on our house and I love it.
Awesome idea to grind up the liver to hide it in hamburger.
Love the liver idea! Beautiful house.
Love the deck!
Have you tried running your liver bark through the dryer? As a powder you could mix it into even more things.
Great video. Nice to see progress.
The house is coming together!!!
I served 11 years, I do airsoft wars against my 3 boys all the time. It's a good bonding time.
I like that They let the kids Learn to drive
All farm kids drive something from a young age
all our kids - now bewteen 2-30 years old live at the farm and work together. They are awesome roomates!

Go Army HOOAH! But I do think it's cool for the Rhodes boys and their friends

Any recipes for the liver bark or how to make liver bark?
They kind of showed you.

Time to get a freeze dryer 😊✅
Excellent pivot on the grind and freeze though for now 😊
Happy Day, y’all 💜
We freeze dry our liver then powder it and scoop what we need.
