Those birds have a history of love and sharing. Two homesteads to arrive to yours. Makes my heart happy. Good to see you at Marie's. I didn't realize the iris will bloom this month! The fragrance will fill the air.
Love to see all of you working together--Marie and William are such great people. I sure am glad you keep getting chickens---I think it is so fun to see their behaviors.
My grandmother had a 1/2 acre iris garden of all different kinds. I loved being with her to enjoy them. Every color and style and the fragrance was heavenly and almost intoxicating! She had my grandfather take old venetian blinds and cut them into 3"-4" pieces and cut pretty heavy wire into 15" pieces to use as the the stake and she would write the name of each type of iris and stick it into ground next to each plant. She was a member of a couple iris clubs. They would trade the different breed of iris and some of them actually cross breed different iris. My grandmother bred a couple of breeds. I wish I had some of her iris, Id love to have iris all around my house. My mother never cared for iris or gardening. When my grandmother got too old to care for her iris garden, she gave many of her plants to any neighbor who would come dig them up, then she had a handyman come to dig up all the rest and burn them! I didnt know about it until it was all said and done. She could no longer take care of the iris. It was heart-breaking! Even the breeds she developed were 'lost' and oh how I would love to have those! She had all her iris cataloged in a little notebook and when the plants burned, the little notebook was burned too. I dont even know the names of her cross-bred iris.
I love irises i bet Marie's fields are heavenly when in bloom! 💖💖💖 That's a good assortment of chicks you brought home. I pray they all do well for you. 💖🙏💖
I liked the Video!! Marie's Irises are pretty, but they will be just beautiful when it is prime!! Too bad they don't last longer!! You sure got some nice chick!! Rhy Rhy sure enjoyed the little fur babies!! Great learning experience for Hera!!! You all have a Wonderful Weekend!! 🤗♥️🙏🏼
Donald sure is a handsome guy! Pay it forward is the way to go with all the hard times people are going through. We are not allowed to have chickens in city limits, town next door can. I am going to make a chicken tractor and find out what chickens I need that don't need a rooster and hopefully get my own eggs. God Bless you all ❤

Beautiful. Beautiful irises
I had a Longhorn that layed eggs till she was about 5 years old. Great bird for laying eggs. She did slow down but still layed.
Marie does have beautiful irises. Overall, I think a leghorn is my favorite chicken.
