for me, i need an MMO with a world i care about. maybe it's just me, but that's very important to me for games i'm gonna spend many hours on. and so far, the Riot MMO has been the only one to get me excited.
I agree. I think if they could maybe make some beautiful and immersive world than maybe. But it’s too early to tell. Runeterra started off as just an idea too so maybe someone else can make one too 🤷♂️
Yeah don't worry it's not just you. If I don't care about the world or the characters I won't continue playing. I personally care a lot about lore and storytelling especially in MMOs.
This just feels like the same song and dance that was going on with him talking about the Riot MMO, I just don't care about all this conversation anymore, I just want to see teasers/trailers or nothing at all.
I’m kind of with what some others have said in the comments here… I don’t know how excited I can be for this MMO because I’m not that excited about a new IP. For me it’s all about an existing IP with good backing, a solid history of making good games and fair monetization. Riot delivers that.
I think it really depends on the scope of their project. If they have it dialed in more than some of these other games than I think it could most definitely come out before a lot of these ambitious titles.
I agree and I think given that he said it is essentially a RPG to play with friends and maybe not comparable to some of these other systems heavy MMO's it may release earlier. Still so much to hear about it though before knowing.
@@ace_sweethell292 that sounds like a skill issue to me. Tab targeting isnt lazy, you cant just press random buttons and expect it to work. clearly you have no idea what yer talking about
I think there was some shoddy choices that were made for the game that he had no part of, and took the opportunity while grieving the loss of family to ditch that ship. I don't blame him at all.
I'm tired of hearing about devs listening to players. Just make the fucking game Gonna start on a journey Starting on a studio for MMO fans We're excited to hear your feedback It's just the same shit it always is. There NO info here about the MMO. It's just all vague hype about a null product.
@@JD-vq7ln I'm not saying to not take player feedback. I'm saying grow a pair and commit to actually making the game first instead of fannying around taking comments from thousands of people before the game is even complete. Forever alpha with these things. Like WoW had testers, but they didn't have a literal legion of self-important fanboys crying about what should be done before release. They made the game, play tested it, decided it was the game they wanted to make, released it, and the public loved it. And then the feedback has been ongoing since. Shame about modern day monetization practises ruining it in the long run. We wanted more class versatility, and we got that between vanilla and TBC. We wanted harder dungeons. We got that from Vanilla to TBC. We wanted more, harder raids. We got that in TBC. We wanted PvP to be changed from an honor grind. We got that at the end of Vanilla. But Vanilla was released as a full game in it's own right first.
I don't know ghostcrawler but he seems to be loved by the community. Does him leaving the Riot Games MMO to start is own company mean that there may be some red flags already? We don't know anything about the Riot Games MMO so we can't know but i'm hoping it will be amazing as i crave a new good experience.
IIRC he left riot in good terms due to the sudden death of his father and brother. Him making a new mmo now might be a red flag or he just wants to do something new without the pressure of a large community. I'll keep my eyes out on news regarding the Devs. Hopefully it's all good and we get 2 new good MMOs instead of drama (trying to be positive)
He mentioned that his new company is smaller, making it easier to make decisions on his new MMO and that they intend on actually showing the game off early for feedback. What this tells me is that Riot is probably making a lot of poor decisions, and the inability for us to give feedback is only embedding a lot of errors and poor choices for the game. And yeah, he did mention he left on good terms and that he's grieving his losses, but if it were me and I were grieving the loss of family, I wouldn't want to put up with the stress of Rito either. So safe to say, using occam's razor, the riot mmo is getting the rito treatment.
cant still believe that Greg left the world's most well-known video game company and starting up his own mmo(?) and I know that he is absolutely qualified to make it but I don't think it will make a splash... since the people are f excited about the riot mmo...
I'm excited for Riot mmo because I like Riot story and lore and I know how friendly their games usually are monetization wise . But Greg Street mmo for now not really since we know nothing about it . He left Riot mmo and decided to do another mmo, I know he said it was because of wanting to be closer with his family and if that was the truth I support that but you leave an mmo and suddenly announce that you're working on a different mmo with a different company , when you weren't even able to stay and finish the previous mmo you were working on, that's kinda of a bad move, it's like backstabbing your previous team to work with a new team. For that reason unless his mmo looks good, plays good and have a good story, I have no interest of it.
His comments are pretty much the same as every other dude that got rich in MMOs hayday and decided to start their own studio to "make an old-school MMO" and an "MMO for MMO fans" and an "MMO for gamers", etc. We've heard it all before. Time will tell, but I don't see anything to get excited about yet.

Runeterra does look so exciting!

exactly, that will be hardest thing for greg to accept - that is hard for people to join an MMO with no prior connection. It is a big riot advantage
0:30 Am I crazy or did you just say "WOW classic" twice?
This just feels like the same song and dance that was going on with him talking about the Riot MMO, I just don't care about all this conversation anymore, I just want to see teasers/trailers or nothing at all.
Agreed! But given Riot's secrecy policy I wouldn't be surprised if we hear more from his project soon in comparison.
Who knows though?

Weird how you have so few subs. Your videos have a really good quality.
Give it some time. I am just getting started!
i think greg 'the betrayer' wants to make a tab target MMO with more hardcore focus, IMO
You had me at tab target mmo with hardcore focus.
Where can i sign up. LOL
I hope not, tab target in 2023 is being lazy.

Go and make your business without feedback and see how far you get champ

I think this guy likes MMOs
I feel like this isnt going to ba a classic style MMORPG like EQ or FFXI. Back to waiting for an indie dev to actually launch one.

This is good news
check back around 2030... when more than 50% chance its cancelled...

interesting
Is it a mmo or not. It’s not that hard.
