    Concussions happen in sports, but it's really sad that his coach told him to keep competing after a concussion. No reason to risk a student suffering second impact syndrome. The coach should have got doctor's clearance before letting this young man return to what he loved.

      Its Japans judo culture, that would be a 1 in a 1000 chance for that to happen. In other countries they arent so strict

    I broke my leg doing judo , I love judo but that nearly ruined my marriage , lost a job with a lucrative contract , couldn't drive for 16 weeks, not worth the risk to be honest, it's a contact combat sport.

    Judo is really useful, but with every fighting art it has health risks. Regulations need to happen, pushing to the point of harm is counter productive in everything. They need regulations.

      that is bs, judo is far from safe. leg injuries are common and other type of worse injuries also happen. wrestling is far safer.

    • @theseeker5799

      Oreo Carlton you keep saying wrestling is safe. In other videos also you said the same thing. Wrestling is far more dangerous. Like supplex. When a person got supplexed and landed on his head what do you think gonna happen??? Consussion, brain injuries or worse dead.

    • @oreocarlton3343
      @oreocarlton3343 6 років тому +1

      Suplex is offcourse scary, but most often you can break your fall without injuries, while in judo if someone is holding your Gi your ability to land safely lowers significantly.

    Ez elég durva látvány. Judo őshazájában ilyen megtörténhet? Magyarországon meg arra hivatkoznak, hogy a Japán iskolákban csökkentek a sérülések, nos ehhez képest a láttottak kissé ezt nem támasztják alá. Közben Magyarországon bevezették a judo oktatását, és testnevelőtanárokkal, akiknek judós múltjuk sincs. Nem lennék most a szülők helyében. Az eséstudás hiánya hozta létre az Esések Iskoláját, ahol a legjobb módszertannal tanulhatnak a gyerekek. Magyar fejlesztésű a program - küzdősport gyökerű, de már 11 éve sikeres minden korosztályban. Ettől a videótól ledöbbentem, mert ez horror.

    Judo is the second most practiced sport on earth next to soccer or football (not the American kind) the fact that only that many people are injured actually goes to show how safe it is. The fault of the one incident described above is entirely the fault of the boys coach. The kid already had a concussion, to risk being thrown while in such a state ia idiotic. This is propaganda.

    • @Bellg
      @Bellg 4 роки тому +3

      Wdym it's idiotic. It's not idiotic to show what COULD happen. He was probably forced to go along with it, even when already injured, because either he did not dare speak up because of the toxic "suck it up" culture or because he did not know any better and his superiors were ignorant or just didn't care. So it's not propaganda to literally tell people "hey look what can happen if your coach is shit"

      I did judo for 6 years and the only time I saw someone get seriously hurt was when my marine classmate who is 6'3( his weight was at LEAST 300) threw a 5'2 girl wrong and messed up her shoulder. The funny thing was it was when I was deciding to join the dojo. The marine never messed up after that and the girl ended up being the best judoka in our area. We we're lucky to have legit judo teachers who said technique was the most important thing and that most of them were medically trained.

      i have done judo since 6 years old up to 18 and we also had not much injuries. It depends on the coach. My father always watched from the side and intervened when someone was too rough lol. I know of trainers elsewhere who are atrocious people and people quit because they wanted extreme respect like in nazi germany and only care about the money, slandering about all other judo clubs that they are no real judo clubs. They wanted people to get hurt they don´t like and who don´t show enough respect so they are real aholes. Fortunately, a lady who had been in that club before and left, opened an own club and made it fun for everyone. It was fun to see that when I once went to the other´s club because I did not know about it and it was in my vicinity where i studied back then, their judoka were all very bad and they only cared about the belt, the belt, but were absolute trash. They told me my belt was worth nothing and only they can make the assessment of the belt. A 180 kg lady who had trouble after doing simple rolls but wore a high belt constantly insulted me and i thought wtf. A really toxic environment where nothing can grow, best for no skillers to feel better about themselves by paying lots of money just to have a belt with no need to really exercise and no will at all to just improve. They were money greedy beyond means and completely without conscience.
      So, yeah, you have to be very careful by choosing the right club. Parents should watch out where to send their children and have a really intimate talk with the coach, because basically everywhere else this would be attempt of murder, but when doing sport, you can always say: "Oh my, what a horrible accident, we all did not see that coming". Sports environments are like a license to kill if you get to the wrong club.

      I am learning mma grappling and throwing. my head got on the floor from one side of my face. I felt dizzy some seconds. That's why I searched up on UA-cam. Grappling and throwing is not easy. The head should be up when you are thrown by your opponent. Believe me wrestling is better than this sport.
