Great review! Welcome to Big Wreck. They are still going strong. they've released an EP just last year called "Pages-1" with two more to come this year! The Suhr concert you are watching is from 2015 and is a great video showcase. "Albatross" is another excellent selection from this concert.
Nowadays Big Wreck is all Canadian, since Brian Doherty (long hair) died of cancer. The bassist is still in the band. Paulo (tattoos) changed careers but still sits in when they are in the area occasionally. Chuck, the drummer, left for health and family reasons I believe. The current drummer, Sekou , was in the band Thornley (Ian's band between approx 2004 to 2009?) for the first album. The other new guitarist Chris Caddell played with him at times previously as well, before joining after Brian's passing. I get the impression Ian doesn't like being compared to Cornell because he has his own voice, is not trying to mimic anyone. Everyone comments on the Cornell thing.
Hello Andrae & Dominika, I'm so glad you enjoyed this song. I love the musicianship these artists display with those guitars Man! such a unique sound. Here's another one of their tunes, if interested. *"Big Wreck - Albatross - official music video"* (by the channel: Big Wreck)* --This song is from their third studio album called "Albatross" released in 2012 and the band's first album since their 2001 release, called "The Pleasure and the Greed." The album was produced by Ian Thornley and the first without the original members Dave Henning and Forrest Williams. This Canadian American, Massachusetts band crossed a few genres such as alternative rock, progressive rock, blues rock and even (early) post-grunge. (IMO) The band has some very good tunes. I agree with Dominika you can really vibe to this, and yes, I can most certainly see the connection with Chris Cornell. (Dominika has a great ear for music) As always, I enjoyed rocking with you two, thanks for sharing. peace out~
Greetings from Canada! Thanks very much for featuring my request. So glad you enjoyed ‘Ghosts’. I was quite certain you would, but you never know given how varied tastes in music can be.
This band is incredible

The 2015 Suhr show was amazing. Blown Wide Open, The Oaf, That Song, Lady Like... All amazing. Great work and keep em coming!
Canadians Rock
Best Canadian band you’ll hear
I suggest checking out Fear & Cowardice by Big Wreck among many others.
Great reaction! You should check out their song"Ladylike" from the same "Suhr" performance!
The lead singer Ian sounds a lot like Chris Cornell, 👍 😅😊 He's also a great guitarist 🎸 😊
He's an amazing guitarist.
I always looked at it the other way around. Chris sounded like Ian. Ian is one of the most underrated guitarists out there.
