Scott's anniversary surprise made me super teary, happy tears of course! I remember when you were between jobs and dealing with a lot and through it all you kept going and continued to encourage your subscribers. Hi Sofia, my mother was just diagnosed with colon cancer and it has spread. I'm only 24 years old so this is a lot to handle. I just wanted you to know that your videos are helping me get through this hard time. I need distractions and this helps so much. Thank you.
AmeliaOrchid oh sweetheart i am so sorry about your mom s health degrading. i will both of you in my prayers. i know you said i offer a distraction but hon, go spend time with your mom it s more important than watching me cleaning the same mess as before. hugs

AmeliaOrchid Amelia,I am really sorry to hear what you are going through. I went through it,too. Just like with you, Sofia's videos kept me sane. It was a tough battle my father lost. It's been six months since he went to God. Please know that God has s plan for your mother,I will keep both of you in my prayers. May your mother be healthy again. Stay strong.
AmeliaOrchid I'm so very sorry for you and your mother, my husband was diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer before Christmas, he's had surgery and hopefully after a rather nasty cross contamination infection he's on the mend now. I too watch Sophia's videos as a kind of escapism, she's a wonderful, kind and upbeat person who brings a smile to your face no matter what she is up too, I wish you all the very best from across the pond in England x

I really like the Tin for your plant, looks good!! Aww sweet Hubby, those macarons look so pretty but I don't like macarons. Hubby and I never really celebrate our Anniversary either, going on 32 years.

Always celebrate your Anniversary. Not necessarily with gifts but do something to remind the other how much you care. The macaroons were a sweet touch. I've been married for 22yrs and we spent part of that taking each other for granted. Now we don't and I look forward to every beautiful day we get together. To have a marriage like you and I both do is the greatest blessing. Congrats!
the tin as a planter is a cute idea! keeper
I love the way you put the plant in your tin canister! You could put a plastic lid on the bottom, so it won't get rusted. Also, you could spread out your canisters. Put each large canister on each shelf (instead of 2). Then on the other empty shelf you could put (starting from the top) a small canister, the gnome from your window (put the other rooster where the gnome is), small canister, and then the soap. I like symmetry. Hope you like this idea. You are down to earth, and funny!

Happy Anniversary! Scott sure knows how to win your heart bringing home macaroons! I've been working right along with you, being I have time been trying to deep clean now so next months will be easier. Sure am finding things up in the top shelves of the cabinets (I'm 5' foot so need a ladder to see high up), also discovering I'm missing some parts of sets of things...now, where could they be?! Loving your added food segments at the end, giving me some great ideas for my own meals!
I love the plant in the tin! If you are watering the plant with softened water, that mat be salt residue on the leaves. I water my house plants with our filtered drinking water.

Happy Anniversary! Keep the plant in the tin, and you might be over watering your ivy. Have you tried putting the plant in the corner and the gnome next to it? I think the colors would compliment each other.
I like the tin. It makes the red in the roosters and elf pop! It also looks "kitcheny".

Happy Anniversary Sophia and Scott!!!!! Today is Baby step #10 for me. I too have a bit more energy. It's been 9 days of shining my sink before bed. There are no dishes in the sink at night. I don't swish and swipe every day as it's just hubby and I. Been empty nesters for 2 years now. I am really loving the Flylady system!!!!!
Sofia I think the tin looks great with the plant! The location is perfect with the plant in the middle and the ornaments on both sides, well balanced. The red matches with the rooster and the gnome's hat. That was very creative and you still get to keep it for sentimental value. I love your videos!
Sophia let me know how you like this idea:
take those diy shelves down and put those empty ceramic jars in the empty shelves next to the cabinets. That way it would free a corner of your kitchen for clutter an surfaces to clean.

You had me go right into my kitchen and remove everything from those little shelves. I never knew what to put there and junk has piled up. Looks so much better empty. Also I'm so sorry for the loss of your cat Vesper. My thoughts go out to everyone dealing with illness and loss. You said it best Sophia spend time with your family and the ones you love.

We have just had our 35th Wedding Anniversary on 28th April and we don't do anything at all. We are still in love with each other, infact more so the longer we have been married, it just gets better.

Yes, Sophia - you are not bossy - and you DO have better ideas! You're the best inspiration. The philodendron probably has white powder mildew and needs to be treated with fungicide.

Love your makeup in this vid Sophia! Great job done. Oh and love French soap - I'm a big fan of Roger et Gallet. Agree - the older they are, the better. Great for popping in linen cupboards and drawers. And when you finally get to use them, the fragrance is still amazing, but because they have cured, they last ages. For those empty shelves (which I agree are pointless and just annoying), maybe you could use them for throw away items that don't need maintenance, but still look semi decorative, like nice tea caddies, or glass oil bottles, that you are actually using, but you won't keep once they are finished (so no need to clean).Congrats on your anniversary. Yum- love macaroons and that was sweet of Scott, but once the anniversaries start marking precious metals or jewels is when they are worth serious attention! Tfs.

Happy anniversary!! We are going to be married 31 years this June. Where does the time go!! For our 25th we went on, what I guess you'd call, a second honeymoon. We went on a 7 day cruise to Bermuda. It was our very first cruise and it was beyond fantastic ! We loved every minute of it. Definitely would recommend doing that
Note/Idea for the plant: Put a plastic bag or bowl inside the tin & then set the plant in it, to keep from rusting out the tin. I like it in the tin as it adds a kitchen theme to the plant.
I love the tin under the plant. by the way I read that if that white stuff gets on the plant (I just got one) that taking a bottle diluted with water a some Dawn dish soap, shake and give the plant a spray ( no need to rinse either) about once a week. I love your videos alot. Thank you for your time. When I am healed up from shoulder surgery I have alot of housekeeping to do and will try Fly Lady.

they grow back year after year and multiply, should you ever plant the lillies another year. they will never bloom in time for Easter outside of green house conditions, however. lol. wonderful job! :)

Happy 17th! You guys are so sweet to watch together. I agree about the work involved with decor in the kitchen. Minimal is the way to go. I no longer spend all that time cleaning it all.
