To have a true British experience with crisps. I highly recommend a crisp sandwich.
The best sandwich in the world.
😋 👌
Bread has to be buttered, it's the law!
I was going to say this!
Kerrygold butter and Tayto cheese & onion
Woah, the England cricket top looks so good on you.
Can't believe someone sent you crisps/chips from Tipperary. Have you any idea how far away that is? Because let me tell you, it's a long way to Tipperary, it's a long way to go.
Yes I'm singing it!
😂😂
Exactly what I was humming in my head 😂🇨🇦
Love that song! From Sydney Australia
😂😂😂😂
Rosemary tastes like a flower? Like a rose? First time i've heard that, i just associate it with Italian food, it's a herb like basil or oregano, also used for roast potatoes sometimes if you're being extra fancy.
Pulses is a collective term for vegetables such as peas, beans, lentils, black-eye peas, lima beans, etc.
Mostly hard though,so need to be soaked in water
When I was a boy we had a shop nearby with a wall full of different sherbets in big jars. Now you can only get sherbet in a couple of sweets and it's always the same sherbet.
the best thing about Milky Way is that you can eat them between meals without ruining your appetite
"I swallowed it but I don't like it". 🤣🤣🤣
Pulses are lentils ,peas and beans 😊
Or if you wish peas in a pod are legumes and the actual pea is the pulse !
The bombay mix will be curry spices flavour wise.
Someone needs to send them a tub of celebrations and a tub of heros. And a Christmas tin of biscuits 😋
Fig roll and cup of milky tea is brilliant too
The Sherbet Fountain gets its name from the original design. The original tube was made of card wrapped in paper with the top of the liquorice sticking out the top. You bit the top off the liquorice to reveal that it was a hollow straw that you could suck the sherbet up.
In practice, the liquorice straw quickly got wet and sticky and blocked up, so you just ate it then started tipping the sherbet into your mouth.
The new plastic packaging means the part you eat is not exposed before you buy it and I think they decided it was not a good idea to encourage kids to suck hard on the end of the liquorice when it was only held in the paper tube, incase of inhaling the whole thing.
People end up eating them the way they always did anyway.
When I get them I just chuck the liqourice and tip all the sherbet in my gob lol
0:48 the way you say IRN BRU brings a tear of joy to my eye, and I am so proud compared to the first time you got a can of it in the mail and didn't know what it was , when you said URN BROW a year ago That just about broke my damn heart, for real
It's a shame he can't say furrows.
In regards to the "Chalk stick", we have a few different sherbet sweets. That was the fountain, we also have the "DipDab" Which is the same kind of sherbet, but with a red lolly pop as the dipper. And then there was a third which was Swizzles double dip, which had orange and cherry sherbet in it, with an edible chalk stick that was sort of fruit flavoured, it tasted a lot like fruit Tums indegestion tables 😁 But all 3 you end up going through the dipper way sooner than the sherbet, so then you just start tipping it back and hoping you dont cough Lol
So Anna eats a whole jar of pickles and a entire can of black olives ..... out of the can......
Anna ..... are you pregnant ? 😂😂🤣🤣
No I’m just weird 😂
Your Milky Ways are our Mars Bars, and your Three Musketeers is our Milky Way I believe. Our Milky Way's are a bit different than they used to be.
the UK naming makes so much more sense 🤷♂🤷♂😂
In the 70's the milkyway had a brown more chocolaty flavour, they were like the flyte bars that came out late 90's, milkyways were advertised as the treat you can eat between meals without ruining your appitite
Three Musketeers sounds more like our Bounty if it has coconut lol
@@YusufAli-zy8zeThree Musketeers bars don't have coconut in them. They're exactly like our Milky Ways. The US equivalent of a Bounty is a Mound bar. Or they have Almond Joy which is basically just a Bounty with an almond in the middle of the bar.
@@smockboy ohh alr got it. I guess I misunderstood what she said in the video
Also, throw the licorice and just tank the tube in a one 😂 bonus points if it goes up your nose
As kids we used to dare each other to snort sherbet . Makes your nose froth 😂
😂😂
Fresh bread, Lurpak butter and a bag of most crisps will make an acceptable sandwich - even if you don't like the crisp flavour
You got to do the Bombay mix in a handful not individually, fair play, love your vids (from the UK so love your reaction to our stuff)
Yeah the relish is pretty common over here, we love our relish/chutney/pickle, I've never tried Ballymaloe Relish but the most popular brand in the UK is Branston Pickle which is just chopped up veg in a vinegary sauce, goes really well with cheese or a ploughman's, most supermarkets have a wide selection to choose from on their shelves.
With Sherbet Fountain is quite old. As a kid we’d bite the top and bottom off the liquorice stick and use it as a straw.
It is a solid piece of liquorice now, I can't remember it being hollow as a kid either tbh.
I threw the stick away and downed the sherbet XD
@@HalfdeadRider never used to be I can assure you
@@ianroper2812 It was a long time ago lol
@@HalfdeadRider sure was 😂😎
Bombay mix tastes better if you taste them altogether as opposed individually 😋😋
And with beer to wash it down
How to eat the sherbet dip, open, throw out liquorice, empty sherbet into your mouth 😂
Pulses = Peas, Beans, Lentils etc.
When I was a kid I would throw the liquorice away and just tip the sherbet into my mouth lol
Those fig rolls, they most definitely do need to be eaten as soon as you get them. Sometimes you can get them from the store and they're already starting to go hard. Normally the outside 'bread' is soft enough that you can just press it with your tongue. Really easy for older folk, those with missing teeth or dentures to eat without the need for dunking in a cuppa.
The best thing todo with fig rolls is bin them
@@jamieholland742agree with you on that one lad
@@jamieholland742 nooooo! 😂
Yessssssss…fig rolls are disgusting, I didn’t try a fresh fig for ever, then my son persuaded me! They’re delicious!!!
Tok many has an unfortunate effect on the bowels !
the old sherbert fountain came in a paper tube, how ever the liquorice stick was actually a tube and we could suck the powder through it...
roysters i eat on bread butter or i crush them up and coat a chicken nugget in them.
fig rolls i like to leave for a week to soften up.
Think you’ll find the fig rolls are a biscuit not bread.
Anna the hair is looking great. Also the England top. Please do more tasting videos and always enjoy the JT and Anna channel.
Love bombay mix!
As kids we used to have sherbet fountains so when my brother got married I brought sherbet fountains for him. As we would when we were kids he ripped the top of and tipped the whole lot down his throat. I had taken the precaution to warn his wife to stand back because, immediately, he began to choke and expelled a large white cloud of sherbet into the room. He used to do the same thing as a boy and I knew he wouldn't be able to resist the temptation. Of course it ended with the pair of us rolling about laughing whilst every one else just looked on us as idiots😂
relish in the UK is a tomato sauce for burgers, the same consistency as salsa, but very different to salsa, kinda has a sorta bbq taste to it
In the 90s a milkyway was so big as a kid you would eat the top off and put your finger in to take the middle out and lick it of your finger 😅😅😅😅😅 or was that just me ? 😅
Definitely just you lol
They also used to have a brown center, not the cream center they have now
Bassets also make the sherbet with a lollipop instead of liquorice. It’s called ‘dip dab’. Much better than the fountain
I was born in 1954 and started school in 59, there was a small corner shop 1/2 way there and we used to get sweets for school sherbet liquorice dips as we called them were one of the favourites then and they weren’t just introduced even then. That approx 60 years they’ve been going!!!
I remember sweet cigarettes and I loved sweet tobacco too.
Loving the hair Anna 💕
Just wet your finger and dip in the sherbert. Bombay mix is an Indian food and they are not noodles lol I love it.
They are called sev, which are fried chickpea noodles lol
Sherbet Dip.... you used to be able to suck the powder up the licorice stick but not for about 30 years (they changed the stick) nowadays we eat the licorice stick and just TIP the powder into your mouth - and usually cough and choke as a result LUL - a bit like those spoon full cinnamon tiktoks xD
The Pulses in the Bombay Mix are what makes it - They are puffed spiced Lentils
i overdosed on Bombay mix once i ate a full 1kg bag and the next day i was in agony with my stomach cramps for the next 2 days i have never had them again🤣🤣
You got to have a nice bottle of strawberry milk shake with bombay mix like yazoo or a 1pnt long life pink shake. It helps with the spice and stops the tummy pain or just be used to eating food with spices in the.
Me too !!
Anna don't worry I do the same with black olives ... better than snacking on candy and crisps *chips*!
you should do a behind the scenes with your family trying your British snack leftover reactions
pulse (n.2)
"peas, beans, lentils; the esculent seeds of any leguminous plant," late 13c., puls, from Old French pouls, pous, pols and directly from Latin puls "thick gruel, porridge, mush," which is suspected of being (perhaps via Etruscan), from Greek poltos "porridge" made from flour, or both the Greek and Latin words might be from the same source (compare pollen), which might be a loanword from a non-PIE Mediterranean language or an as-yet-unknown PIE root.
That mix with noodles and peanuts looks like something you would have at the pub. Or maybe to go with a nice curry dinner. I did see some stuff we don't have here in the Netherlands 😢😮. Was another fun one to watch JT & Anna. Love the hair Anna😍. Have a great weekend 😘❤🇳🇱
No Bombay mix is a netflix and chill snack
Anna your hair looks really nice. Love watching your channels. Hope you both have a great Christmas.
When Royster's were first launched in the UK they were marketed as being a taste of the US of A.
Your version of milky way is a mars bar to us I'm sure
They will never know the joy of the Red Car and Blue Car having a race.
@jtrueman1353 that is something i heard before.
Yes, mars bars in the UK, are Milky Ways in the US and your bounty bar is known as a mounds bars in the US.
@@marydavis5234 do you also have Lion's bars????? We share a lot but there are also sweets, candy's,crisps etc that we dont have.
My partner, Róisín, devours black olives and cabochon pickles like a monster lol, I hear you
1. The relish is tomato-based. (Not "pickles" - or _gherkins_ as we'd call them).
2. Pulses are things like peas, beans and lentils.
Man needs to do a video trying all the different pot noodle flavours 😂
A pulse is like a lentil. Bombay mix is so good!
The Best UK crisps were Brannigans Roast Beef and English Mustard flavour, they were made by the same company that makes Discos, but sadly they were discontinued in 2020.
Oo I remember those! They were fabulous, that mustard hit really made them. I wonder why they got discontinued..
@@HolyFreakinDragonSlayer according to the manufacturer KP, declining sales led to their discontinuation.
Would love for KP to bring them back, in big bags like Sensations.
@@shankleythebest yes definitely. I loved those sorts of flavours like lamb and mint Seabrook etc
@@HolyFreakinDragonSlayer Chicken Tikka Masala flavour from CoOp.
@@shankleythebest I've not tried them, I'll look for them. I like the salt and chardonnay vinagar hand cooked ones from coop. They make a good crisp butty 👍 👌
Crinkle cut crisps are cut by tractors, you learn every day.
That Irish town where those Crisps/Chips come from is pronounced Tipp er airy, but without the letter ‘i’ in it.
I know that because one of my Uncle’s was born and bred there.
BomBay mix, that I can eat a full bag in 1 sitting, I do prefer the Hot BomBay mix alot more, there is a Chilli and Lime 1 out, that I find quite salty, Sherbert Fountains now they take me back to the very early 90's when I was way younger, then it was eat the liquorice 1st, then pour the sherbert into your mouth
Great video as always. Loving the hair Anna❤
Pipers salt and vinegar have a great salt to vinegar ratio
I love Bombay mix, it goes so well with a few beers. Needs to be eaten all together for the true experience though.
bless your cotton socks watching you two makes my wholesome xmas perfect
Now listen up guys, forget the Bombay mix, I wouldn’t feed that stuff to my fish🤣. You need to try 1)Smiths scampi fries. 2)Smiths bacon fries 3)Pork scratchings. Trust me it will change your lives🤣. They need to be good quality pork scratchings from the butchers, none of the super market rubbish. I’ll wait for the thank you message when you’ve tried them👍🏽🎅🏽🎄
Love your hair Anna. It suits you perfectly. Dunno who your hairdresser is, but she/he is clearly talented.
Haha the sherbet dip I used to have as a kid in the early 90’s. We hated the liquorice though so just used it as a stick to eat all the sherbet.
Sherbet Fountains were popular in the 1980s, with 5 year olds 😂
i feel attacked!
I am loving you're cricket hoodie, I have the light blue version of it.
As someone already mentioned down below 👇 me try a crisp sandwich 100%. Two pieces of bread buttered with real butter than Walkers Cheese and Onion crisps sandwiched in the middle, oh man one of my favourites. You both will love it.
I put a line of sherbet fountain out for someone who thought it was something else, his tearduct literally had fizz bubbles 😂😂
Not sure what Bridish is or Carmel?
Pulse as in Bean/Pea
Your Milky Ways are our Mars Bars.
You've never heard of beans/peas/pulses? Its a food group all those carby/proteiny things like beans, chickpeas, lentils, split peas etc
Dip the fig rolls in a cup of tea, and it softens the biscuit and tastes amazing!
I do the same with black olives. Lol 🇬🇧
You guys really need to do dunk those fig rolls in a nice warm cup of tea to take it to the next level. Keep up the good work. Merry Xmas
I'm loving the england cricket shirt Anna
Hello JT and Anna. At one point it looked like you are your fish baits. Such facial expressions.
About thirty years back I was in Texas and loved the almond Mars Bars. I think they are now called almond Snickers. Your Milky Ways are our Mars Bars.
Some Bombay mix is extra spicy. I can just munch that down. Presumably being from Bradford and used to hot food prevents me from having to run for water or milk, like some folk that are not.
They use to have those crisp mixed at the bar and salted peanuts to make you more thirsty and order more drinks 😂
I love the authentic hillbilly dog barking in the background
6:17 we also have fun dip in the uk but it’s called something else, like sherbet dip/double dip or something I can’t remember 😂 we also have ones with lollipops too. Tbh with you no one now a days really eats the liquorice ones. Not me anyway ahah
sherbet dib dabs.
Double dip is the sherbet with the lolly.
Rosemary is my fav herb. Those crisps are my absolute favourite.
Bombay mix isn't instantly flavourful but as you eat more the spice slowly builds up a nice warmth in the mouth.
Love watching your taste test videos and your reactions to them, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
How can you not like steak??? As for the sour's, if it doesn't turn your face inside out ,it ain't sour enough! Wish you both a very merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Incredible isn't it? And rosemary would never do a leg of lamb without it fresh from the garden. Yanks are strange people LOL.
Ooohhhh the milky way song, I still know all the words 😂
Its always fun to hear your take on things that are familiar to us 🙂🙂
fun dip exists in the UK, too, they're called "double-dips" and they are sherbet with the chalky sweet sticks. We also have "dib-dabs" over here, which is a lollipop with sherbet. :)
Ha Ha, I loved the reactions to our sweets and crisps.
The sour sweet reaction was biblical. I had to watch that bit quite a few times.
Yet another good video.
You guys have to try McCoys crisps, absolutely FULL of flavour!!
your milky way is our Mars bar, I think
I love Roysters bubble crisps, they make a southern fried chicken flavour too.
My fav treat is a giant cherry bakewell with hot af custard!
Your hair looks fabulous Anna!!❤
You need to try Floral Gums sweets & cherry Lips. they are my 2 favourite sweets in the UK & have loved them since I was a kid back in the early 80s
Love the England cricket top....
Millions are an all time fav for me, the only sweets that I actually still buy
Your Milky Ways is our Mars
Strawberry millions are amazing!
Sherbet Dip or Sherbet Dip Dab (different brands) comes with the "chalk" stick, it's better if you don't like liquorice
Ive not received notifications for ages so glad i found this update.
Seasons greetings to you all.
Pulses are group of vegetables that includes beans.
IF you are talking UK, then they are CRISPS. Chips are something else entirely.
For fig rolls, the best ones are made by Crawfords.
Also, and I have said this to you before, Milky Way (and most other UK chocks like Mars, Galaxy, Curly Wurly, Fudge, caramel, Maltesers, Minstrels, Smarties, Bounty and many others) taste much better if you FREEZE them for a few weeks first.
Your milkyway is like our Mars bar. Your faces when you ate the fizzy bottles, you both looked like you were sucking the most sourest lemon lol😂
