  • Watch video of the most recent presentation in the Food for Thought lunchtime series which took place on November 4. Synesthesia-Hearing Color/Seeing Sound. The panel examined the phenomenon of synesthesia - a neurological condition in which the five senses cross and trigger one another in unusual ways. Synesthetes may “see” the color yellow when they hear the blast of a trumpet or “taste” buttered toast when they hear a certain melody. Artist Wassily Kandinsky and many other artists, writers, and composers since the nineteenth century have been fascinated by the creative implications of synesthesia.
Food for Thought is a community lunchtime program.
