Thanks man, I'm sure trying to figure this UA-cam thing out. I appreciate your recent patronage. I'll try my hardest to make some quality content soon.
I rode my rm465z back in the mid 80's,( sometimes on the tar road too) it was like 1st gear- hmmm goin pretty fast, 2nd gear- going faster now!, 3rd gear- ok hang on tighter, things i'm passing starting to become blury, 4th gear- realisation i am now on board a rocket machine that defies my riding ability and i just might die if i continue winding it out! Yet still i would love to get another one.( i have a 1981 cr450r at present, fully restored).enjoyed your video clip! Cheers Paul, Australia.
Hey man, thanks for being an international viewer. I've been curious how those old 450 and 480 Hondas run. There's reportedly a guy in my area with a CR480 that's a damn good rider, but I've never met him or seen the bike. The RM465 sure is a fun bike. It's very tame feeling to me, but it scared the crap out of a buddy of mine who had an IT465 that was the first big bore I'd ever rode.
Mine broke in the middle of a race. It was one that needed a lot of rear brake, so I was out. At least I got to back track a quarter mile and check on my dad who had just broken his collar bone trying to stay in first place,
Put a 1981 or 82 Rm125 disc brake front end on it for way better stopping power. I did and it was great. We rode it off road and raced harescrambles with it.
Fair point, and probably something I'll be looking out for now. I will have to keep the drum for certain events because I want to race and AHRMA race later in the year on this thing and they don't allow disc brakes.
I'm guessing you're talking about the YZ250X? I just didn't like it. It's too heavy for me. I'm not a very heavy guy and I was wore smooth out after riding the bike for a 1.5 hour long race. I was so much faster on my 2002 RM125 that I felt no need to keep the 250, so I traded it with my buddy in favor of a 2002 KDX200.
Man you haven’t scared yourself good until you’ve pulled the trigger on a big bore two stroke 😆 sweet classic RM brother.
Bro, great job hanging on and getting that monster through that scramble! Nice riding man. That 465 sounds tight! 👍🏼
Thanks, I'm going to try out some motocross on it tomorrow. We'll see how well I can hang on then.
Bet that bike hauls, great rebuild man
Hey, I recently just started watching your videos, and I have been enjoying them! Keep up the good work, man!

My Suzuki rear brake broke in the same place, I DNF in moto one that day, LOL

Roger decoster tore it up on these hot rods
Definitely a hero of his time. I'd love to be on his level.

You want to get rid of it….lol
Yeah... no... I love this bike too much. I have to truly hate something to get rid of it, like the 2016 Yamaha YZ250X I once had.
@@vintageadventurerrides lol….I had to ask….take care
@@vintageadventurerridesno kidding? What was wrong with it ? I’ve always heard mostly good things about them.

@@vintageadventurerrides I understand I’m skinny myself and had an IT200, that was my favorite by far.
