This video is so helpful. I recently turned 42,and for the first time in my life,I'm feeling and looking older,and it has really depressed me and caused a lot of anxiety. And now I am suffering from extreme insomnia, which makes my eyes look awful, making everything even worse! Is this normal going into your 40s as a woman?? Hormone changes,just sooo many changes,I don't even recognize myself anymore! Nor feel like myself! So I feel like I'm having a mid life crisis almost, and it was completely unexpected. No one warned me of this! I hardly had ANY changes from my 20s,going into my 30s. And I loved my 30s,so not to be dramatic, but I've been feeling like my life might as well be over. My youth is just GONE forever I fear,and it was so sudden, and drastic! I think that is why I am having such a hard time!If it had been gradual,I think it would have been much easier to handle and except. I do understand I'm not the only woman that has experienced this in her 40s, but it's just not talked about enough. I feel like going into my 50s will be a lot smoother and not so hard. I hope I'm right! Anyway, so I'm really just now starting self care on a whole new level, and I can tell it's helping and I get excited to try new products,etc. You are so beautiful, feminine, girly, and so kind,all the things a woman should be. Your videos are very helpful and literally giving me hope things will get better, and happier for me. So I appreciate you so much! God bless!!!

You're absolutely stunning. You're very lucky to not be wrinkling or dealing with a sagging neck at 53. I'm 49 and a total disaster lol.. but I've had a lot of stress in my life, and my weight has been up and down my whole life which has caused sagging and jowls. Anyway for me I need to get the botox and a neck lift. That would just make me feel better about myself. I know what you mean about people being critical all the time. I think in your case it's just jealousy. Not many people look like you at 53 without help from a plastic surgeon. You obviously have good genetics, and I'm sure your healthy lifestyle has helped. Your look great. 🙂

Love your attitude on wearing whatever you want regardless of age! I think that's the best part of getting older, we are more accepting of ourselves and less apologetic about being ourselves and not caring as much about opinions of others.

When I turned 50 there was a freedom that came with it and I NO LONGER cared what anyone thought. I have people that chase me down to ask me what I'm wearing, what color do I use on my hair ect. I wish I had that freedom along time ago but I'm glad I live it now! And don't forget that self conference is atractive! 💖
Some might say this is "extreme" but until my grandma physically could not put makeup on, she never left the house(or had ppl over) until she "put her face on". She wasn't trying to catch a man, she just loved the feeling of being all put together. She got her hair done weekly & had GORGEOUS natural fingernails so all she had to do was file & paint those...but yeah...the looking /feeling beautiful for YOU is where it's at!!
I got a lot of my habits and things I don't even realize I'm doing from her and we were very close..I was the first granddaughter to have a baby, and my son was the only great- grandbaby she got to meet . (though I'm sure she checks in on all of us from time to time) thank u grandma..miss you !💞

I feel like They were just so classy. And anytime people (most not in my life anymore because of their negativity!) Would say "ya know...you don't need to do ALL THAT to go see the family .."(or even if I was just at home) I just kind of remembered my grandma (my aunt was the same way too) & then felt perfectly fine with doing whatever I wanted with MY face ...because even if u are just at home...(especially these days!) It helps to get you out of that funk.

Isn’t it crazy how people are so determined to tell you what you’ve had done, when you’ve said over and over you haven’t? You’ve always been an open book here and it’s so odd to me that people do this. We all age differently. I’m the same as you and haven’t gotten anything done in my 50’s, but if I ever did I’d be the first to admit it because there is no shame in doing so. Women need to support each other on whatever decision they choose to make and need to stop assuming that if they aren’t aging like the next person that they automatically have had something done. You don't have to wear makeup, it is whatever makes you feel good about yourself. And you don't have to follow tutorials some can be way over the top. I liked the way Lisa did her eyeshadow but I wouldn't necessarily do all the steps she does here, although enjoyed watching it.

Girl I’m just like you, I wear what I want when I want, I’m 56 and have had absolutely nothing done to my face as well, just good skincare. Yes I have fine lines and some forehead wrinkles, so what. I will also never stop wearing makeup.

I am a size 10 and have recently started putting a bikini on my body as you say, I wanted a bikini body, right?! So I put a bikini on it! You are a natural beauty. Stay strong my friend. ❤️
I am 60 and look in my late 40s early 50s. I stopped the sun on my face at 28 and I do not get any type of injections, either. In addition, I have taken good care of my skin and health, as you do. Lighting also makes a difference on UA-cam videos as well as photos. Shadows are not our friend for sure!
I never use powder, either. In the winter I finish my makeup with a makeup setting spray and pat my skin. I steam my face at least 3 times a week followed be a tightening mask and then a vitamin C serum. (I also use other products pretreat for my skin).
Having said all of the above, it takes discipline, knowledge, and trial and error with the correct products. Having injections and fillers is a personal choice but I prefer the “fun and satisfying” effect I get from the effort I take to look good.
I too lift my eyebrows and squint just to show people that I do not get injections.
I use the same shimmer (not sparkle) and all of your techniques for application on my face. You’re beautiful inside and out! 💗
Yes please on a dressing for my age. I just turned 55 and I don't look it or feel it 😃. I know what looks appropriate for my office job, but wouldn't mind some different suggestions you may have for that "pop" of color that will look good on me. Love your videos. Thank you and God bless.

First of all thanks for a great video. What some fail to realize is the many factors that age you. Jealousy is one of them. Now the positives however are heredity, thickness of skin and how you clean moisturize and maintain, nutrition, exercise and the list goes on. I see so many beauty youtubers who have mature skin, but continue to do tutorials with full coverage and powder under the eyes. It looks so cakey in person though lol. I'm 38 with very good skin and haven't been able to do my makeup like that in about 10 years. I love that you give such honest and realistic advice on those kinds of things.

I think as we mature we realize the only one we need to please and love is ourselves! I never showed my upper arms until I hit my 40’s! Can you imagine? I didn’t even have big arms! Now, I’m in my 50’s, and I have gained some weight, and you know what? I do my hair, nails n makeup and try to be the best I can be for myself! Love yourself first! Great video Lisa! I think what a lot of people don't realize is that diet (clean food, positive attitude-which you defiantly have!, exercise, sun protection, water-hydration, not drinking alcohol or smoking play a part too) along with all other additions you use, masks, derma roller etc. help. Green smoothies, juicing, collagen, exercise-sweating along with avoiding gluten, dairy, processed food-and giving up SUGAR all played a huge part in my skin looking better now then when I was in my 30s (but I did smoke and drink back then). And regardless, its YOUR body and you do YOU! Totally agree with the hallow eyes being the first thing to "fix" I have them too!
That lip liner really made a difference and highlighted your white teeth.

I just want to say that you look equally youthful and beautiful with no make up on. Make up makes you look so much more glam but the youthfulness is already part of you even without make up.
Yes, please do a what to wear to look younger. Trendy clothes that don't break the bank, meaning $20.00 or less for each piece. Always love what you do on your channel!

Absolutely, it is all about self confidence!! I learned a long time ago to stay true to myself! Doing something or dressing a certain way other than what makes you comfortable and happy is a recipe for disaster! I have always worn makeup and dressed up and when I retired most of the time I still do that. My husband loves me without makeup so I do that occasionally too, sans makeup but always sunscreen!! Thank you for sharing such an uplifting video and I too do not have anything done other than great skincare and the occasional facial!! XO
