The ancient Roman one was talking about the Battle of Cannae. The battle that Romans had nearly their entire army surrounded and annihilated within one day. It happened on 2nd August 216 BC.
Warfare was Hannibal’s art, and Cannae his masterpiece. Casualties of that level in a SINGLE DAY wouldn’t be seen again until the opening days of WW1 over 2000 years later.

Heck even battles like the Battle of Frigidus in 394 or the Battle of Alesia in 52 BC are on that level or higher.

There is no specific number given for casualties except for the Goths who’re said to have lost 10,000. That being said, both sides were said to be fielding roughly similarly sized armies of 40,000-50,000 soldiers.
It can thus be inferred, even if both sides had lost all their soldiers, they still would not have taken the same casualties respectively as Rome did at Cannae.
And Alesia? Bro, that was less of a battle and more of a siege that lasted over a month, and much of it involved civilians as well. Say what you will about Hannibal, there’s no evidence or mention of him sacking the town of Cannae itself, before or after the battle.

You talked about casualties in a day. Not casualties in a day for one army.
You cannot use ancient sources for Cannae and then use modern estimates for the rest. Especially when we consider the fact that modern estimates puts Roman casualties at 50’000 without counting prisoners ( many of which were freed after the battle ) at Cannae.

As a girl, the only relatable part was the time machine. Never got the chance to meet my grandparents as they were all dead before I was born, and I when heard dad's stories about his parents I always wished I met them. Especially my grandma, from dad's stories she seemed like a really kind woman I'd love to visit as regularly as possible. Would be also cool to hear some stories from my grandfather of what he did during WWII said by him personally.
