You're 100% right. Runs aren't all about agility and many of the singers this channel highly rates all the time are proof of that. Regardless, Mariah has better musicality and dynamics in her runs along with her more seamless transitions. Mariah literally transitions effortlessly through all modes of her range in a run. The one quality the other two have over her is that they naturally have weightier voices. Whitney and Celine spinto/full lyric sopranos while Mariah has a lighter voice. Not to mention Celine and Whitney's tessitura is arguably higher than Mariah's. When someone has a higher and weightier voice their belted runs will sound more dramatic, but someone naturally having this quality doesn't make them better or worse at runs, it's simply a trick that their vocal quality plays on the listener. Whitney and Celine's strengths that make them amazing vocalists lie in different areas, but Mariah definitely has and will always eat up their runs.

I think the styles are really different. Since Faouzia is influenced by Arabic music (they have the most impressive riffs tbh). Mariah has some runs and riffs as complex as that one from Faouzia as well ( *cough* Lead the way), like Faouzia is relatively new and I love her so much but we shouldn't go as far as saying she's the best right now
Mariah is the best for sure, agile in every register, in every area of her voice and with unmatched musicality which will probably never be equaled, even if he never wants to show her best examples and I don't know why...

Demi has so much better riff/runs moments and you choose the worse ones. You could also showcase some of their most agile moments. For other artists you put more than 1 clip btw

Lots or scores of female singers whether it is pop contemporary ,modern etc. in these clips and all have their own styles but this Faouzia girl is something special particularly in that Arab melisma riff where she is mindblowing and switches in other songs from lows to highs with perfect pitch as evidenced in this episode you have to say she is the No.1 at this moment in time!

I think the styles are really different. Since Faouzia is influenced by Arabic music (they have the most impressive riffs tbh). Mariah has some runs and riffs as complex as that one from Faouzia as well ( *cough* Lead the way), like Faouzia is relatively new and I love her so much but we shouldn't go as far as saying she's the best right now

Runs and riffs are great but for me tone and lyrical content, soul means more. I don't care if you can TECHNICALLY sing what are you singing and does it touch the heart and soul. but I certainly have respect for those who are vocal acrobats; its a beautiful gift :)
