    That photo of Garcia is Iconic. Reminds me of Ali standing over Liston. When he was shaking his legs mocking Haney I thought it was so funny.

      The circumstances were also very similar, everyone thought Ali was crazy and that Liston was going to destroy him.

      @@coldmotivation1300 maybe this is where he got the inspiration from 🤔 although Ali didn't find the latest conspiracies and go mad about them. I think 85% of it is Garcia's mania the rest of it was playing up to the public response. I think he's about to crash hard after this win wears off though.

      Excellent visual analogy. Ali came in great shape and could take a punch. He took them from murderer’s row: Frazier, Foreman and Earnie Shavers who hit harder than anyone. 🥶

      He wasn't, he just won anyway.
      He says himself (and there's lots of footage of him) he was drinking most nights in the lead up to the fight, going out to clubs, smoking weed. He also missed weight which doesn't happen if you're actually taking the fight 100% seriously.
      He showed up in not great condition and won anyway. He knows Haney from the amateurs, they fought 6 times, he knew exactly what he needed to do to win and he did it.

    Remember the size difference in Haney’s last fight against Loma. He was just a weight bully all the time, thats it.

    • @billmurphy3510
      @billmurphy3510 7 місяців тому +27

      I was rooting for Loma but honestly everyone at 135 walks around 160. No male professional athlete who is 5'7 or 5'8 is 135 pounds. It is just that Loma is not a 135 pounder and is at his limit.
      Teo, Garcia, Haney are all about 155 - 160 if not cutting. It is part of the sport. These early weigh ins make it even worse but it Haney is fairly standard built for 135. Benavidez for example is much bigger than most at 168.

    • @Dukestboy96
      @Dukestboy96 7 місяців тому +6

      That wasn't Haney's last fight and also you can't use that because that wasn't Lomas natural weight class either he's always been a smaller man at that weight. And regardless of Haney's weight he's still never carried power so really that was a slightly drained Haney against a puffed up loma

      Glad someone mentioned this, the modern audience is confused and distracted by more and more of these channels and opinions, they make logical viewing difficult (which is a huge modern day problem) but if you see past that this was always a 50/50 fight, Ryan is clearly fast and powerful, still growing and has a great amateur background. Haney with his defence and IQ, it was a great matchup but mostly blinded by the haziness of the media cloud.

    • @billpap7570
      @billpap7570 7 місяців тому +23

      I don't think he gave the illusion of that, I think that was somewhat real, he genuinely was going out drinking, doing coke, and smoking weed all the time in the lead up to the fight. There's loads of footage of him out in clubs during the weeks leading up to the fight looking fucked.
      He didn't take the fight 100% seriously, he just won anyway. He's fought Haney 6 times as an amateur, he knows exactly what he needs to do to beat him, and he did it. He's so naturally talented and knows Haney so well that he was able to show up at WAY less than 100% and still beat him.
      Him winning doesn't mean everything that went on before was all an act, I'm sure he played up to it a lot, but he was definitely drinking and doing drugs loads in the lead up to the fight.

      This is not towards Gordie but some if you fake ass Christians. Haney is operated first .Second if a Black man would do it he be a thug. Gordie is right is Tank smart is elite . Both achievements are great . Garcia is a better fighter. But the thing that a common thing is the more your proximity to whiteness you are consider hard worker. Blacks are just naturally talent to emphasize they don't have to work. Ryan is an elite fight but don't say Haney is the same fighter as Tank. The ref did cheat. But one of the best boxers pound for pound is Bud Crawford but will never be the face of boxing. Why we all know why?

    Ref saved Haney multiple times this fight, round 7 should have had at least a second
    knockdown. Haney essentially just took a knee but wasnt punished for it, Haney was shooting double legs. If a
    person does that in a normal random
    undercard it's a TKO. Ryan
    Is incredibly talented a problem for anyone in the division, funniest and most exiting thing to happen in boxing for a while. ryans defense improved, he used footwork, he was patient, and countered his way to a decision against arguably one of the
    pound for pound best fighters.

    20:49 that clip is a very old clip. Haney isn't overrated Garcia was just underrated, Haney is still one of the best boxers in the world and i believe he can beat almost everyone. In boxing why can't we just give the winner his credit without spinning the narrative that his opponent is not good. this is the same thing people have been saying about Spence since he lost to Crawford, anyway I'm sure Spence and Haney's next performances would shut all the critics up.
