@Dolores D This is the weirdest comment I've ever read. Putting aside assumptions and the fact that the movie does not show whatever quick google search you got all that info from, do you really think the British man decided to tell them to go to Chinatown because he thought they treated other Asians like trash?
Henry is going around saying that he missed Singapore and teasing that they are to film the second movie its just that the director is having a trouble looking for a new movie writer if I'm not mistaken 😍😍😍 so yep it's to be released in the future😍😍😍 PS. The book trilogy is my fav!!! ❤️😍
Crazy rich Asians is my fav romcom the story is so beautiful and the wedding scenes make me 😢 yo this is the love I want someone who will give up everything for you.
This whole movie is just a visual representation of why being equally yoked is so important! Also, the second book IS about Rachel’s family so I feel like going into her mother’s past would be totally valid for a sequel!
Okay this movie was so good!! Astrid is one of the best characters!!! I love Lakia's reactions and my 7 month old wouldn't take his eyes off this video
6:23 Yes, wherever there’s a cheap source of labour that unfortunately gets exploited, there are domestic workers. It’s very prevalent across Asia. For example: In India, middle class people can employ domestic workers.
For those that didn't catch the mah jong hand at the end, Rachel showed that SHE would have won if she didn't give up that last piece, knowing that it would allow Eleanor to win instead. It's driving home what she just said, which is basically, "You won because I LET you win."
13:31 It’s not just rich people, anyone who took high school too seriously. Those obsessed with sports, prom/homecoming. High school only lasts 4yrs but some people make it seem like it is their life. Ken is in a movie called Over the Moon and he sings in it! Great movie to check out.
12:51 tbf, it's bc they're rich that they're able to more easily conform with modern interpretation of "attractiveness" (at least, on the outside). They can afford all of the big money make-up, skin care, other beauty treatments, stylists, personal trainers, dieticians/nutritionists, and medical procedures. It's just a lot easier to be prettier than average when you can afford it.
My Barrio girls are very pretty and just know how to take care of themselves. They shower their skin everyday and have their own remedies that work just as well. While it is easy to rely on fast food, there are ways to get proper nutrition on a low budget. Cooking can just be exhausting so i make enough leftovers for a few days and eat fruits and seeds. Habit shows on your skin more than expensive products.
Majority of Asian households have maids/house help, I'm an Indian, and we have 3 people as house help and everyone I know (relatives/friends) have house help too. so it isn't an outdated concept for us
where do you live cause in the US and Canada thats not the norm unless your rich lol also we have maids/servants in the Caribbean ad South/Central America
'Why does every place look better than America??' ahahahaha fr tho, part of the reason was that Hong Kong was massively invested in this movie bc it was so big (like you're not allowed to have events at the place the wedding party/engagement party was at) but they let them do it for this movie!
I’m just happy that Hollywood has FINALLY realised Asians can look cool and be on top of things, like they are in Singapore. Or that Asian-Americans are complex and as human without heavily accented English.
As someone who's born and raised where they're at (SE Asia), it was pretty common for middle and/or middle-upper or upper class families to have house maids. I grew up with 4 housemaids (they're live-in, they lived in this cottage--cottage as in...think...ADU type unit, the cottage had 3 bed and 1 1/2 bathroom, kitchen, etc-- in the backyard that we provided for them), then we employed 2 chauffeurs, both chauffeurs lived offsite and a landscaper--the landscaper only came once a week though. The housemaids are usually "off-duty" around 10 PM (unless there's special occasions/parties, then they're paid extra), and since they practically lived with us, we paid for their food, basic needs and utility bills in addition to paying monthly for their work. We're only a middle-high class family so I can just imagine how many housemaids etc these wealthy 1 % people have. These days though, the housemaids are getting smarter and talk about unionizing, etc. They don't live in anymore and their service is more expensive too. But even one of my cousins, who has gone back to live there, has 2 housemaids now, but not live-in anymore, they just came to work at 7 AM then leave around 3-4 PM.
In Singapore and in Hong Kong, most household has live-in helpers. They are usually there for general household, as nannies or for elderly care as most households are dual income households.
That wasn’t to bad I enjoyed it and strangely enough I recognized a good majority of the cast. And I loved the wedding it was very cool and I’ve seen a lot of uncommon weddings and this one was a first for me it looked cool. Hi Lakia glad your doing good and by the way love your outfit for this movie 😊👍🏼 can’t wait to see your next video should be cool your editing skills are perfect 😁 and remember though some of us aren’t swimming in wealth our faith and love for the Lord makes us rich in spirit 😇❤️👍🏼
the intro took me out 🤣 HOLD UP at 2:51 i said “period” at the same time as you!!! our minds!!!! 11:18 someone did the up and down look at me yesterday and girl..... hands we’re almost thrown
Try watching the cut/deleted scenes of Crazy Rich Asians!!!! Charlie and Astrid danced at the wedding!!! It just didn't make the cut😭😭 ua-cam.com/video/2pygtLk67VI/v-deo.html
if crazy rich asians would have a sequel it would be called china rich girlfriend which is the name of the second book, which yup you guessed it! It’s about Rachel’s newly found relationship with her dad who just so happens to be a millionaire politician 💁🏻♀️
Hi thank you for reacting to this movie!!! This is mah ultimate fav movie and book trilogy!!! 😍😍😍 PS. I think you missed the post credit scene that shows Astrid's first love!!! (Charlie WU!!!) 😍😍😍
I just love this movie, it’s simply so nice to look at. Everything is grand but doesn’t feel cheap or iffy idk Also Astrid is just THE woman, I love her
Maids are actually common in Singapore! They normally come from Indonesia or Philippines to here for work. I personally have one for nearly 12 years now :)
This showed up in my suggested. Glad it did, you had me smiling. Had a lot of the same thoughts when I first saw this lol so I felt like I was watching a movie with my own self haha
lol at people being mad at non Black people who lived in Black areas speaking like the people they grew up around also. Also for the people that didn't know Awkwafina has a NY/NJ accent not a Black one.
how kind of lakia to bless us poor folk with a video instead of counting her countless dolla bills😩🤚
Right I have to do charity every once in a while 😂
so kind 😫
💀💀💀😭
@@LakiaJaiTV omg 😂😂😂

Astrid’s monologue at the end is just brilliant! She deserves the world 👏🏽
Did you saw the post credit scene???!! Charlie WU appeared!! It's Astrid's first love 😍😍
@@rynntglo POST CREDITS?! I didn’t even realize they had some, lemme go fully watch this movie
yessss
Love the movie commentary 🤩 Fun fact Crazy Rich Asians is actually a book series so there is a major potential for more films of this franchise
Ahh that’s great then
Henry is going around saying that he missed Singapore and teasing that they are to film the second movie its just that the director is having a trouble looking for a new movie writer if I'm not mistaken 😍😍😍 so yep it's to be released in the future😍😍😍
PS. The book trilogy is my fav!!! ❤️😍
GIRL YOU HAD ME DYING WITH THE SUNGLASSES😭😭😭
They were so tiny on her face. Lol

Those sunglasses you were waving around for emphasis made my entire day LMAOO

Crazy rich Asians is my fav romcom the story is so beautiful and the wedding scenes make me 😢 yo this is the love I want someone who will give up everything for you.
The entire wedding scene was out of this world if you ask me
This whole movie is just a visual representation of why being equally yoked is so important!

Loved her!
"Girl dont give black people no money, we gonna act a fool" 😭😭😭
She is a trip lol I can’t with her 😂
Don't listen to her, we earned it. 😂😂😂

Bruh I'm a self proclaimed romance addict as well and I would love to see that prequel! LOL
They'll be doing a sequel 😍😍😍 it was confirmed but the release is still TBA😍😍😍
13:31 It’s not just rich people, anyone who took high school too seriously. Those obsessed with sports, prom/homecoming. High school only lasts 4yrs but some people make it seem like it is their life.
Ken is in a movie called Over the Moon and he sings in it! Great movie to check out.
The chaotic energy of this reaction 🤣🤣 but yes I'm still waiting on a sequel for Astrid and yes a prequel for the mom would be so interesting
THE INTRO- I’m dead 💀
Michelle Yeoh called herself an ‘icon’ in an interview once and never have I ever agreed on Som faster lol
“I’m not crying because it’s sad, I’m crying because I could never have this”😭girl i feel you
This is such a fun movie and I love how you’re channelising Raven from ‘The Cheetah Girls’ and Elsa Majimbo.
Astrid is best girl in this movie💄👠💋
Absolutely she is everything 🥰
Your reaction to this is everything!! I had a good time from start to finish. The outfit is a huge flex I love it
20:42 cool detail - she gave Eleanor the piece she needed to win and let her win on purpose, paralleling her speech abt Nick
idk anything about mahjong but i assumed that was what was happening
16:22 That One Asian Aunty who loves you and is great fun to talk to.
I would live a prequel! Showing the mom's decisions throughout would just be so amazing and the romance a chef's kiss lol
My number one comfort movie

This movie, in its essence, feels like ‘Monster-in-Law’ (a great movie to react to) but a great story on its own as well.
Haha yes. Monster in law is so hilarious
Already excited to watch! 😂❤️
Lol 🥰
If I experienced a fraction of that humiliation I would dump him out of spite 😹

I just love Gemma Chan and Constance Wu.
Quote of the Day: “I just can’t deal with the entitled.”
11:03 Thorstein Veblen called it ‘Conspicuous Consumption’.
