Mediator Ethics: We Are Headed to a Disciplinary Hearing Panel

The Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) presents a mock mediator disciplinary hearing (i.e., a trial) to determine if a certified family mediator who has been formally charged by the Florida Supreme Court’s Mediator Qualification and Discipline Review Board (Board) will be disciplined, and if so, what sanctions will be imposed. The presentation is facilitated by the DRC’s Chief of ADR Susan C. Marvin, J.D.
Mock role play actors include Board members The Honorable John Jordan, Steven Leigh, Kimberly Mann, Vivian Perez and J. Forrest Young. The Honorable Melvia Green, Retired, plays the role of prosecutor, and Second Judicial Circuit Trial Court Administrator Grant Slayden plays the mediator William Short. DRC staff play the roles of attorneys Charlotte Merlot and Tyrone Billings.
