Showing her face would break that illusion of like “oh no not demon cat girl but someone from Illinois” idk maybe it’s deeper than that but her model is very very well done

Not really, I've noticed in my time on the internet that people begin to associate the avatar/profile pic/etc to the voice, and I often find myself avoiding face reveal content because it breaks the illusion. I just can't get over hearing the voice come out of a different "person", and I know a lot of people feel the same. It's individual, not really instinctual

If you, as a streamer, are not magnetic enough, people will gravitate towards other streamers doing the same thing as you, but better. It's possible for a streamer to be successful through pure charisma without a facecam or to be doing something unique enough, however having body language and a face adds a layer of expressiveness that really boosts the viewer experience, and by extension a streamer's success.
