G’day Andy. I’m using a shimano zodius light to medium rod here. It’s rated 3-6kg. Using 10 pound braid for the main line and a 12 pound fluorocarbon leader. I find it’s more than capable and still finesse enough to get bites from the flatties
Haha I’m over thumb gripping them without the glove. Bit smarter these days. I’ve caught them up as far as nowa nowa which is pretty high up lake Tyers but it all depends how much freshwater is in the system at the time. I reckon they are closer to the mouth now where there’s a bit more salt water
