Im a survivor of PAWS after my Doctor tapered me off Cymbalta (SNRI) to fast. 4.5 years on I’m almost 100% healed. What a crazy ride. The Doctors need to get educated quickly because it’s causing major problems for many patients around the world.
Thank you Dr. Witt. YES!!! I was diagnosed with FND. I rapid tapered through my then psychiatrist, only to end up with numerous neurological symptoms. Muscle Twitches DP/DR. Loss of taste & smell. Hyperacusis. Crazy vocal outbursts. Some movement disorders. All my neurologist tests were normal. So thus the diagnosis. I’m 2 years out. Slightly better. I’m partial functional. But somewhat housebound. Plus major brain fog . So it’s actually very hard to tell how long this nightmare will last. Just thought I would let you know. I hope I recover. I’m 68 yrs old retired was on 30 years off klonopin .25 prn. And ssri. Sertiline .50. Weaned off Felt great until I rapid tapered the klonopin. Then overnight my life changed. Haven’t been to a doctor since. My Nerves are shot Thx for listening 😊. Are you available in California for consultations? Thx Paula
Have Akathisia from coming off Klonopin and opioids almost 5 yrs ago! No taper. They said I had “rebound anxiety” for years. I found an Aka group in 2020. Told my doctor I figured it out and I think the guy thought the Latuda was giving me Akathisia. I was rapidly tapered off that and when I complained about worse Akathisia, I was told to just stop my taper. I jumped at 20mg. I’m like 7 months off Latuda. When I complained about withdrawal the doctor didn’t believe me. At 6 months off I got hit with all kinds of new withdrawal symptoms. The Aka is worse, my insomnia is worse… I finally started my own channel because no one knows what to do. I’m like searching for help.
They did tests on me in a hospital. Nothing came up but my symptoms were so severe they decided that I was not faking it as they originally believed. I lost my vision, was shaking uncontrollably, and had a temperature of 105 while there. Still, they thought I had Serotonin Syndrome but ironically I wasn't taking anything with Serotonin in it at the time!
A life long friend was given SSRI for 20 years due to angst. When she wanted to quit she ended up in hospital and the treatment was to put her back on the drug for life or she could have died. Here in Norway no one knows of SSRI/ benzo withdrawel and patients stop after a week of tatering if that. Even experts have no clue it is life treathening. So thank you. I will share your knowlegde to the health providers. Ret nurse.
I still feel i was misdiagnosed with fnd , as I came off diazepam to quickly without help after 5 years or more on it so yes i am in protracted withdrawal, its mostly severe anxiety, seizures ringing in the ears jerks, muscle spasms and cns i calm myself down by mindful breathing but the feeling can last up to over an hour and days on a bad flare up
It's not diagnosed because then I would have a malpractice lawsuit ! When they document "withdrawal from a certain medication " it's obvious that they know exactly w what they have done to me!!! F---
@newjerseydevil6115 I've found that younger doctors are the worst. Arrogant And Stupid. Be safe and go with someone that has experience treating actual patients, instead of younger idiots who only saw it in class or read it out of a med book.
My Dr is just a fat shaming A 🕳️..? Thinks all my problems stem from being overweight. Well, I wasn't overweight until after 9 years on Clonazepam. It's been up snd down for three years post abrupt cessation. I was feeling better until the Dr gave me hydrocodone for pain. Knocked me back about 2 years. Like I'm starting all over.

The Benzotaperdoctor of NYC could help you IMO

Same in my country. That must change NOW. Its 2024. Its destroyed my life. Brain damage, too fast taper Sertraline.
Oh they have self checkouts at the stores now they should definitely do that with doctors it’s that bad
It was only recently recognized, despite existing as long as benzodiazepines themselves have existed.
Thank you!!

DR means golddigger
Do you think that I would be better off with a younger doctor?
Mine was to old for sure. Ignorant.

I see you don’t treat in California. That’s ok. 😊 thx p
A little difficult for a "mental patient" to be heard by the God's of our time.
