I swear I thought it was armin I searched it up and it said she didn't marry anyone
I would like to think that the little boy at the end was searching for that tree on purpose, and when he finds it, he has that look of I found it it’s real I can’t believe it’s real!!! Centuries of a story being told, and passed down from generation to generation who knows what’s going on in society now, but maybe the power of the Titans are needed once more an this kid, trying to save his people save his land maybe even save a girl!!! sought the tree to see if it was true that the power of the titans is something that is in fact real!!!!
Floch is based and he should've been in charge.
@@marcomajor7154I do think it was Mikasa, Armin and Armin’s child (not with Mikasa). It’s likely Mikasa is the godmother of that child since she didn’t have children for herself.
how do we know thats Jean?
You forgot to mention that a theory is in the end, when the boy finds the tree, it’s kinda the opposite of Ymir. Ymir found the tree while being chased by dogs while the boy found it by being led by a dog.
typshit
Whoa
Whoa! Just watched… Been binging these explained videos 😭
Damn I totally missed that, went over my head, that does make so much sense tho!
I read something which suggests that even if the Halluciogenia is still alive and caused the tree to grow, it doesn't mean that the boy would get some kind of titan power.
Ymir found it in a state of fear and near-death so the Halluciogenia sought to 'protect and prolong' life as it saw fit. This boy is not in harm's way or in distress, meaning that the Halluciogenia would not automatically grant him titan powers
I just realized. If thousands of years have passed in the end credits scenes, then by the time the city in Paradis became a metropolis before being decimated by war, then the story of the Titans and Eren and the others have probably faded into legend. A story parents read to their children at night before they went to bed. I find myself smiling and looking up at that thought.
"Eat all your vegetables or the titans are going to get you"
I can't help but think about howmany of our own legends have been based on reality
It kinda saddened me at the thought. But life goes on that is the truth. Mikasa and Eren is one of the most unique relationships I've ever seen in anime. Love to the core I feel/felt for it. I just finished watching the whole series today. No anime made me feel like this. A sad but happy ending for Mikasa and humanity
@@BrokenYamato XD
Not a thousand years, could be 100 to 200 years. We went from muzzleloaders to artillery in 100 years (American Civil War veterans was alive during the Great War), and we went from horses to Teslas in about 100 years. Aircraft went from bi-planes to jets within 40 years
9:30 someone had an amazing comment about that last scene that I think is what’s actually happening. It’s a scene of hope that the cycle is NOT repeating. Ymir found the tree looking for shelter and to escape death and a life of slavery, while all alone. That boy found the tree out of curiosity and while he was already happy and free and not alone. What he’ll find is not what Ymir found. The titans were the way they were because of Ymir and Fritz. The power the boy finds will probably manifest into something much better for humanity
I like that theory tho we don't know but i guess the author wanted the viewers to theories about these kind of things like if mikasa got married and moved on and this part i guess too, still this was a long journey for us with the anime even tho i find the ending satisfying still makes me sad to see it go away remembering when the anime came out years ago makes me a bit sad.
Not really with or without power .. humanity will have their own intentions, making them evil.
right, titans were a product of ymir and fritz. not sure what the boy will manifest but it will be a product of eren and mikasa 🤞
The only way to tell Is to keep moving Forward
Anyone who still has the "Then it was all for nothing" mindset didn't truely understand Zeke and Armin's conversation in the path. Life isn't just about multiplying and dying, its about having the choices to enjoy whatever makes you happy and feel alive no matter how pointless whatever you're doing is in the grand scheme of life whether its racing with your friends or just throwing a ball and catching it with a friend over and over again. Eren gifted all his friends the privilege of doing that, to live life
Strongly agreed with this!
^This
Can you elaborate on what you mean that Eren gifted them "to live life"? If anything, he gifted them life long traumas and PTSD.... and the death of 80% of the population.
@Yoda-wf6bu He freed the world from the titans and the curse of ymir, saved his friends and Paradis from war for many centuries, and let them live peaceful lives. Yes, he probably gave some people PTSD, but not his friends. (That is kinda what Eren cares about)
THIS!
Ymir found the Shining Centipede while she was being hunted she was scared for her life. So the creature reacted to her emotions and gave her eternal life and the power to resist her enemies. The kid at the end was exploring happily with their puppy. They found the creature full of wonder and excitement so he may not get destructive powers maybe they get the power to push humanity forward. So to me its kind of a hopeful ending.
I wonder if they'll be dog titans, if Isayama is ever planning a sequel later.
during the battle of heaven and earth, you can see one of the husk titans as a dog@@Charles-7
@@quentalvan I mean as animals being the new titan shifters, and not just humans.
The end credits were a trip man. I did not expect to see a cyberpunk dystopia in Attack on Titan. Looking at the big picture, the titan wars are just a blip in the grand scheme of things.
The ending isn't devoid of hope though. Someone pointed out how Ymir found the tree as she was chased by dogs. The future guy comes across the tree with a dog companion. It might seem like we never make any progress, but eventually humans do grow more civilized.
Although the end credits proves that as long as humans are there, the notion of true world peace cannot be achieved, and the cycle repeats itself..
I think Zeke and Armin's conversation is the thing that gives hope the most.. to live for the small moments with our loved ones is one of the best things we can do with our lives.
I mean, looking at current state of humanity repeating to fight, Russia vs Ukraine and Palestin vs Israel.
Isayama basically looking at outview of the real world
tbh zeke is still right thou, there must be anti natalism
I love @SeaTactics final note on this. The cycle of conflict will never die is true and can be pretty depressing but his build that there is always the possibility for a change in hope for tomorrow. That’s pretty inspiring too. Yes, that hope could be for freedom that can only come about through conflict, but equally there could be humans trapped in conflict that hope only for peace, etc.
@@omanawawi my thoughts exactly.. and It will end with an inevitable WWIII and nuclear bombs, reflecting the scene on the end credits ...
@@omanawawi both these wards are a necessity. Wars don’t come out of thin air.
Regarding Mikasa dying single - in that closeup of her being put to rest with the flowers and Erens scarf around her neck, you can actually see that she is wearing a silver ring on her finger. Its barely visible between the stalks of the flowers, but it is definitely there!
Yeah, between the flower's stem/stalk
if you check the manga panel she is not wearing a ring. Also they forgot to draw her with bandages in the anime, I wonder if he choose to edit this scene more or if this was a studio choice / fuck up.
@@Sudoer95 No idea, I actually never read the manga. That would be another question though, which source would be considered an actual canon? Manga or anime? Bit of both? Based on what I saw online so far it seems that anime expands a bit on what was shown in the manga, thus becoming the new canon. I could be wrong in this though, so don't hate me haha
Apparently she married Jean and that boy in the end was her distant descendant
@@SanosEdge Yeah, I was thinking that it might be some descendant!
this ending really stuck. the music made it hit so hard too
Now that AoT is over, I realize how much I took Seatactic’s videos for granted.
Sucks because I couldn’t even watch any AoT videos until now because once you watch one the algorithm starts recommending more of them from different creators and a lot of jerks put spoilers right in the title and thumbnails. So as an anime watcher and not manga reader I have a lot of videos to catch up on that I had to miss to avoid spoilers.
@@Zazzaro703 that does suck! Of course you can always go back and watch them, but that’s definitely not the same as watching it as the episodes release. That’s why I love Seatactics videos on how he avoids spoilers form the manga even though he’s read em. Too bad he’s in the minority.
@@Zazzaro703yeah I ran into this same problem, I never watched any Aot until 2 weeks ago and almost immediately I was getting spoilers 😢
Imagine your wife visiting her ex's grave and wearing her ex's scarf her entire life and then gets buried next to her ex's grave, lol. Totally wife material XD
Mikasa's so attached that even her family is third wheeling for Eren and Mikasa lol
She probably never married, or died young
Mikasa was not erens ex
They were step siblings since she was adopted by the Yeager sure Mikasa loved eren but that love was not given to Mikasa
@TheCanadianBaconChannel that comment was a joke...
@@TheCanadianBaconChannel
In big 2024, and we still argue abt whter EM are siblings or not, wow.
Surely step sibling, siblings or whatever the fck that is won't try to kiss one or another.
Eren didn't consider mikasa as his sister at all and couple of times said to her that he is not his brother or son.
Mikasa never really considered Eren as brother, kept saying "family" while blushing (blushing to your brother ? Really?) cuz she was just awkward and embarrassed about her love toward Eren romantically, even tried to kiss him while confessing her feeling in episode 12 S2 cuz she thought they would die. And moreover i think your sibling won't kiss you in the lips after you died tho. So no, they're not siblings nor step siblings, they're just really a bit bizzare, special lovely friends. Even saying they're lovers would even more accurate than saying they're siblings honestly.
Yeah sorry too long, i've got too much free time after work, got broed, saw the comment, and wrote it unironically cuz i love attack on titan.
It’s a great ending because it makes you think and because it’s realistic…. Gives me the same feeling as the ending of Oppenheimer.
It's a great ending because it give me a certain level of understanding of why all those violence, arguments and war are ongoing in Middle East right now.
@@JeusAlprime108it reminds me of the overview effect; when astronauts go to space they often have an ego-death of sorts. They realize that borders, countries, political battles are meaningless, and that we need to desperately protect the thin and fragile earth.
@@genessab What you brought up make me wonder if astronauts able to widen their perspective horizon due to their immediate danger that might really threaten their life at the moment isn't from human, but from the nature and space.Yet human who staying on earth on the other hand facing the immediate threat the other way around.
@@JeusAlprime108 that could definitely be a part of it yeah! But I think it’s less about danger, and more about scope you know? Seeing the entire earth in a single glass, floating helplessly in space, I think that would humble you. At least I think it would humble me cx
@@genessab Yeah, I bet it will, for that instant. Imagine if you send anyone randomly from the war ongoing in middle east right now to the space to experience what you desribed, then send them back fo the warzone again. Would that humbleness make this person want to cease the war, or would this person still killed, when their life or their family life are in jeopardy? Let's give that some thought, since we who live in a peaceful region will having a hard time understanding the perspective of those living the war zone.
At 6:12 old man could possibly be Armin because he’s always the last one when racing to the tree. So possibly he’s the last one that’s still alive.
Isayama shows that NO ONE gets away with anything in this series. Even if you are forgiven, there will be a reckoning for your sins.

Hello, I have something to add. In my opinion, the last credits show something a bit deeper than "History repeating itself, or the cyclical nature of violence and war." My take is that it shows how in spite of the inherent violence of mankind, the future can also be something different, something more positive than a titan. For example. Ymir was being chased by dogs, escaping death in desperation and that's how she fell into the tree's roots. But now we see a boy who is an explorer, is not fear but curiosity that is driving him to go inside the tree, and even the dog instead of chasing him now is a companion. In other words, more than cyclical is like a spiral, sometimes can go upwards or sometimes downwards, and the details in this new kid explorer led me to believe that the world was ready to go upwards a bit.
The end credits rolling through the future with Linked Horizon playing. Absolutely masterful.
His music HAD to come back. I could never like the other OST’s as much as his. They are fused together. Shed a tear hearing his voice again while seeing Mikasa’s grave. Perfectly timed.
Beautiful
Here's the thing about the tree in the end. Since it's a little open ended, I like to think that the hallucigenia wouldn't just automatically make this boy have titan powers. I feel like it could be anything.
Personally, i like to imagine that the spinal worm (that, in theory, could potentially be found within that tree) evolved for the course of hundred years into....fungi.
Might be a weird speculation, but for reasons unknown this idea stuck in my head... Like imagine if the boy actually finds something within the tree, and its basically Eren's skull that's overgrown with fungi.... The fungi titan, lol
Although, supposedly Eren's head was buried *near* The tree, not within it... But nobody said that the tree over the course of time didn't enveloped the grave while growing bigger.
I feel like people forget the spinal creature didn't just give ymir powers. She wished to be stronger and it gave her the titan body, for all we know the kid going in the tree could wish for something different
I think it would be something similar to tian powers because the hallucinogenia seemingly has the ability to ‘titanize’ anything it touches. That’s probably why the tree it lives in grows so incredibly large and towers over the other trees.
@@dmiveraI think it pretty much embodies and personifies the emotion of the person it comes into contact with. It happened with ymir and then again with Eren.
Throughout the show AOT showed me that things in life are never as good as they seemed to be but somehow the ending showed me things are also never as bad as they seem and that this life is worth living😢. And hearing the line “A world without titans” coming from Historia’s voice cured my depression😭.
The fact alone that Eren erased all the titans and cured all eldians from being able to turn into titans, severing they’re connection to the paths and in a way achieving his original goal from the beginning of the series is the happiest possible ending that I’d never could’ve guessed was possible. Overall I felt like what remained of the cast got off super well compared to what I expected like actually the complete opposite. Especially how not only Armin and the warriors were saved but their parents plus Connie’s mom as well.
Also Paradis being destroyed hundreds of years in the future couldn’t bother any less. It serves the story’s message perfectly without taking away anything from the main cast because It’s so far out in the future it doesn’t concern them, it’s past their time so it’s out of their control, they did their part and succeeded. Kinda like how it’s the grandson or great grandson that runs the family business into the ground lol.
Correction: It was *Ymir* not Eren who erased the power of the Titans from the world, after Mikasa convinced her it was OK to let go and release herself from the shackles of King Fritz's "love." She was the only one who ultimately had that power, Eren was only "borrowing" her power during the Rumbling and other actions he took to manipulate his past self and previous Attack Titan holders. Just for the record.
Beren: the next generation 💀
I think the story was damn near flawless. A beautiful ending too. Wraps up nicely now Eren can rest in peace along Light and Lelouch. The honored trio
No! The last season could’ve been better especially the ending! If he died season 3, 80% of world would still be living but they would’ve still been killing each other.

Personally I would’ve like see him sacrifice himself heroically
She died unmarried
The white lillies and the chastity ring symbolize her purity and virginity and her loyalty till death toward eren
Jean and Mikasa's relationship is not true
Ur right
It's honestly those last end credits scenes that change my entire feeling on the ending. Without these, I don't think I would actually enjoy the ending that much at all, but with them, it's one of the more satisfying endings I've seen in a while.
Even when I read the manga two years ago I liked the ending. The dialogue between Eren and Armin especially needed a fix-up and the pace was really fast, but the themes and everything were great.
I agree about the pace but tbf the entire series pace was fast
As a a manga ending passionate hater... I loved the anime ending ❤. That dialogue chabge between armin and eren was the thing Isayama needed to fix to save the ending... and also the fact that Paradis reached the Cyberpunk era 😂
I stopped reading the manga halfway because it pissed me off and I predicted the ending.
I enjoyed the anime alot better, although I knew the ending was always going to be bad for everyone.
Same. Anime’s ending has better message compared to the manga.
whats the diffrence between anime and manga ending?
After watching this breakdown I was able to appreciate the ending even more than I already did. Even though the credit was explanatory the little details made all the better. I really am going to miss the show and the messages it gave, it thought me so much about myself and the world R.I.P AoT.❤️
It was a wonderful journey. Loved the ending
I like the idea that the boy at the end is a DISTANT descendant of Mikasa
That the Akerman and Mikasa's mother's leniage managed to persist as it's always have no matter the strife
it isn't, mikasa kept virgin when she died, the flowers she is buried with represents purity and virginity, probably the kid she has is adopted, wich makes sense because she was adopted as a kid

Thank you for that explanation video you did. Keep the grind going!
In ep 2 eren loses it and goes on a rant about killing all the titans and calls Armin weak, only for Mikasa to come in and stop him by punching him in the head. I like to think this is foreshadowing to eren losing it and going on a rant about killing humanity, yelling at Mikasa and Armin in season 4, and Mikasa stops him again by cutting off his head
The beauty of the ending is, that Isayama now can have his next story play in god knows what setting and let it play sometime in the timeline of AoT and we would barely notice except for some easter eggs he could lay here and there :D
It would also be inconsequential for either story because they can very well be too far apart.
@SeaTactics I agree with your view and perspective on the ending credits. The only thing I differ with is Jean being the person that mikasa end up marrying the reason, I said it because lot of different source material whether manga or anime contradict that. Like you mentioned in the video Aot rewards the viewers for paying close attention to the details. Whether it be the writing on Eren gravestone, the meaning of the flowers and number of flowers plus in chapter 139.5 Mikasa never removed her bandages showing azumbito heritage. So, it’s at best left to interpretation if not leaning towards she remained single.
Yeah Mikasa did NOT marry anyone that guy is Armin who's just accompanying Mikasa to visit Eren's grave and in the manga it was very CLEARLY shown that Mikasa's wrist was still hidden which means she didn't pass down her crest to her descendants so that kid is adopted. On Eren's grave she wrote "Here forever Rest peacefully My most BELOVED My DEAR 854" and she was literally buried next to Eren's grave and in the ending song we can see that Eren and Mikasa got reunited in the afterlife so yeah Mikasa NEVER got married🙌
It took me 3 days to finish it, thats how emotionally invested I was in this series. Ive never connected with a story besides this one. Loved the whole thing
You finished all the series and movies in 3 days?!?!?
The possible ring that is on mikasa on her deathbed is clearly 1) silver 2) on left ring ringer and 3) had no gems/bedazzling details. basically, this makes it a chastity (virginity) ring which implies mikasa chose not to marry and have kids after eren's death.
Agree, i am cringing while this youtuber JUST DESCRIBING at face value lol who doesnt dig deeper. Meanwhile lots of his commentator is praising him. 😂😂 , clearly thats why they are all missing the awesomeness of isayama 😆😆 who constantly dropping hints per hints
@sahcsyboi Then who was the man and woman with red scarf and the kid and their kids and all. Coz I'm very confused at this point and maybe Isayama wanted to draw our conclusions.
@@pranavkumar5377 It's exactly what you said at the end there -- "...Isayama wanted to [us] to draw our own conclusions." The woman with the red scarf, the husband, and their child are visually correlated to mikasa, jean, and their possible child however nothing is definitive without Isayama's confirmation or any manga panels/episode dialogue confirming it as well.
Anyways, to answer your question, it's unknown who the couple with their baby was. The whole mikasa x jean ship is based solely on visual implications without seeing their faces. My mikasa x eren ship is based on her chastity ring that 100% meets the description of a chastity ring irl.
I watched it the day it came out, and a week later I’m still grieving, not the death of eren (it’s still sad though) but the end of aot, and the story. Omfg it’s just so sad.
I just got here in 2021!! How do you think I feel?😭😭
I’m still in the camp that she didn’t marry and likely adopted, as there would be many orphans as there were already. Could be Jean or Armin or whoever with her but that’s just my belief. I also don’t think that’s Jean.
yeah i agree, i also think it would be weird if that's jean
I don't get how can anyone think of mikasa marrying and having kids, and having kids does implies developing romantic feeling, which mikasa never had towards anyone other than eren.
It would make more sense if it was mikasa and armin that visited eren's grave over mikasa and jean, mikasa doesnt strike me as the type to move on so im guessing she died a virgin and adopted a baby(probaly named the baby after eren too) other than that you did a great job explaining the ending, what a legendary series with the most realistic ending, it will stay with us for as long as we live
Yeah it never made sense to me that jean and mikasa would get together at the end, it just seemed so random.
I disagre with that. Mikasa was indeed that type of person, but that was the point of her character, she was extremely obsessed with Eren to the point that Ymir saw her as his own reflection.
But the point is that the last thing Eren told her was to break free and move on after his death, and Ymir herself only destroyed the titans and moved on his toxic love for King Fritz when Mikasa proved it possible. So the Mikasa after th Rumbling is supposedly no longer the same. It will be weird if she learned nothing from that.
She coming back with a baby and someone resembling Jean seems to me evidence of that change of personality, not of the contrary.
@@asasas9146 great point, perhaps she did sever her obsession with eren but still decided to keep the red scarf as a keepsake or momento, i suppose it can goes both ways as both letting go of one thing but yet holding on to another, we need an interviewer to ask isayama about it so we can comfirmation on it to be certain
@@carlosrijo6245 yea it seemed like a EoS pairing for the sake of giving the surviving main cast some happy closure type beat but if isayama wants JeanKasa to be canon i dont mind as it doesnt affect the story for me
@@asasas9146but the whole point of her tightening the scarf around her neck as she sent towards eren’s colossal was that you can still love someone without blindly following them.
She didn’t “move on” from eren’s love, nor was that the lesson Ymir learned from her. Ymir learned that you can love someone without blindly following them and obeying every order without question. You can have the strongest love in the world, but still be your own person and do what’s right. I think this is almost canon, because Mikasa goes to show again and again that she will love eren until death, even after death.
Now I don’t think she couldn’t remarry. Many people have lost the true love of their life early in life, and yet remarried. Like rose from titanic (in media at least)
Seeing Mikasa pass away has screwed me up so much mentally. And you can see for a second there's a frame of Armin visiting Mikasa and Eren's graves, which totally broke me. I hate this show 😭
Time stamp
I honestly wouldn’t mind a sequel set in the future but I think that should come like during the next generation to witness (IRL)
Thank you for not over-analyzing the end credits like the rest of the fandom.
SeaTactics, thank you so much for these past years. I truly cannot explain how much these breakdowns meant to me. Attack on Titan is arguably the most precious thing to me in life, and watching your videos truly made my experience all that more better. I’m glad to know someone appreciates the show just as much as me. Again, thank you, and here’s to the end of the arguably the best story of modern literature!
Amazing video. Absolutely loved the end as well, what an amazing send-off for a series like Attack On Titan. Thank you so much for the countless impressive videos you've put out, astounding work. Keep it up!!❤
If Mikasa really married someone, why did she meet earn in the afterlife? What about her so-called husban and she was buried right next to him She kept visiting his grave all of her life put yourself in this so-called husband shoes. How would you feel about it? your wife is not buried next to you, but to the person that she love and keep the 🧣 till death i’m not against her being married but I don’t think that’s what happened I’m just saying, make it make sense
Which is why people think it's Jean who is her husband. No random man would have understood that.
I really like the bittersweet ending here. Life sucks sometimes. Either personally or in the big picture. And to have an ending where things were just happy forever, well, that wouldn't be life. The show has never been afraid to shy away from the horrors of life, so why do anything different in the end? But I do like that there is hope. That we can make the world around us better. And that we can embrace the small moments with each other.
i dont think its jean. probably armin and the little girl probably a child mikasa adopted. remember historia has a orphanage, if mikasa single she can be the one who run it while historia has her own family and ruling a nation
mikasa still wore that red scarf, implying she didnt move on, also the flower on her grave is white, while white flower often implying virginity
also with the titan already gone, i bet the curse on armin, annie, reiner and pieck already moved too so they have normal human lifespan
@@lettersboi1926yeah it does . Ymir's curse eventually ended but at what cost ?
The whole ending gave me major “A Street Through Time” vibes. It’s a great book that is even fun to look through as an adult.
Too much money involved to not create a sequel. Can’t wait to do it all again!
Damn, I thought it was about titans, the ending is more on war cycle.
My analysis - Jean and Mikasa are pictured so far down the road because no one from the group stayed in paradis, except Mikasa, who would never leave Eren, and Jean, who stayed due to his feelings for her. The chid you see is someone she adopted due to them looking familiar to Eren, helping to ease her time without him. Maybe its wrong? But its what makes me happy 😂
Imagine only finding your channel after AoT has ended. AoT is probably the most important of the anime i grew up watching simply because it covered so much of my life. The manga ended around the time i was graduating from university and I recall not particularly liking the ending, but understanding and being at peace with it. I do like the anime ending better because Isayama managed to more clearly indicate what he meant with it.
Also, everyone is shouting about who Mikasa ended up with, and I'm betting either nobody (Isayama loves his symbolism and there is plenty of that saying she died a virgin) , married an unnamed blonde man or even ended up with Reiner and not Jean
She ended up with me. Can confirm.
manga community are literally just a bunch of wannabe elitists who make unsolicited opinions because they think they "know the whole story". this is why anime adaptations are important and why I'll ALWAYS be anime-only... can't leave interpretation to a bunch of nerds
Honestly it's kinda gut wrrenching to see Paradis growing into a super futuristic mega city just to be destroyed a few scenes later, all those lives, memories wiped out from existance.
In a way it reflects how the rest the world ended up, see for example Marley grow from their oppressors into a futuristic city too (For their time) just to be wiped away by Eren and again all those lives and memories got erased overnight.
This channel is my way of not moving on from AOT.. Thank you for the constant posts ❤❤

1: The cycle was always supposed to continue. That was the point it was mentioned way earlier. The cycle will always be there. Eren just wanted the titans to be erased. He always hated them and went to extreme measures to ensure their demise. Only for the sole purpose of all his friends to continue their lives and have children of their own one day.
2: the war that took place in the future probably had zero to do with the Eldia and more so resources the island contained.
Number 2 could be true in season 1 not sure what episode they mentioned that the land within the walls was fiillled with oil and rich elements.
Aot is one of the best things that happened in my life
By the way the "history repeats itself" part isn't just implied in the symbolism, it is literally said during the credits, just in German.
There is a song that plays while we see futuristic paradis being destroyed. It kinda reminds me of Rammstein stylistically, but I'm not sure if it's them as I'm not super familiar with their catalogue. Anyway as we see the missiles the singer says "Geschichte wiederholt sich" which is just german for history repeats itself.
Thank you for all your analysis videos! I've just finished the show, having absolutely adored it including the controversial ending and your videos helped me realise so many details that I would have missed otherwise. Keep up the awesome work, loads of love from Munich ❤
isayama could write a mini serie about the events after the death of eren , following the life of connie , pieck ,reiner ,annie , jean ,mikasa , and maybe historia as the queen. It could be interesting too.
Another video that will get at least 200k views.

it’s literally not jean, the official ed expands on mikasa’s afterlife.
Why are you saying like the one with mikasa is definitely Jean? Don't you think it is more reasonable if he is Armin? 😂
Pay more attention, the man is definitely taller than Mikasa. Maybe they're together, or just visit him together, maybe the child is theirs, or she adopted a child because she chose not to move on. Who knows
@@beyondan It doesn't mean he is Jean just because he is taller. I did pay attention but it is just too small to see. In term of visiting, Armin is more likely and makes sense.
Those final scenes made me sad for real it almost made me cry lol It made me realise that all our worries and problems are temporary and death is permanent that is why we should live the best life as much as we could. Be happy and have peace with us.
Bro ur channel deserves more recognition
Id like to see a spinoff of Attack Of Titan
The guy standing by Mikasa was genuinely left to be ambiguous to keep us wondering, very well could be Jean-heard many different theories. Also theories of whether she ever got married, moved on, was that her kid(possibly adopted etc). Hopefully one day we will know😭
My guess is that the reason Isayama left it ambiguous was because if he made a concrete decision on it, he’d get flamed by butt-hurt EM shippers. I don’t blame him for wanting to leave it up to interpretation because of what a shit-hole this fandom is
Finally someone said it other than me
Mikasa did NOT marry anyone that guy is Armin who's just accompanying Mikasa to visit Eren's grave and in the manga it was very CLEARLY shown that Mikasa's wrist was still hidden which means she didn't pass down her crest to her descendants so that kid is adopted. On Eren's grave she wrote "Here forever Rest peacefully My most BELOVED My DEAR 854" and she was literally buried next to Eren's grave and in the ending song we can see that Eren and Mikasa got reunited in the afterlife so yeah Mikasa NEVER got married🙌
thats not jean thats armin, on mikasa s grave there was a white lily which symbolises purity so that proves that it is armin with armins child
I’d love to see like some short film or video lesson of some short depicting or explaining that futuristic paradis war
I think one thing to note is that Eren didn't get everything he wanted, the thing he wanted even before a peaceful life for his friends was freedom, but he never got to experience that. Ymir didn't have the strength to kill king fritz, she wanted someone to show her that it was possible to love someone like that and still have enough strength to kill them. So she pushed Eren to become what he had become, she manipulated him into thinking there was no other way possible since he said that there might have been another way, but he wasn't able to think of it.
This makes more sense when you think that Eren never wanted to do a genocide and do whatever he had to do. Coming back to Ymir and Mikasa when Ymir sees that it was indeed possible and Mikasa killed Eren she is able to move on and hence all the titan powers were gone from the world. Because if Eren could do that, why not do it at the start and try for a more peaceful method. Finally, coming back to the main point, in the story Eren suffers the most, he wasn't able to have a peaceful future with Mikasa, he wasn't able to become truly free until his last breath and the only solace he had was that his friends were able to experience the peace he never got to.
One more point I want to put forward was that the peace they found wasn't completely built on mutual understanding, but it took so long to restore the population back to stable size before attacking Eldia again. Think about it, he took out 80% of the population, we can argue that it took that long to get the population to its original size before they launched another attack to completely destroy Eldia and maybe finally put an end to that conflict which was going on for so long.
This also is a reference to Erwin saying peace will not be achieved until the population hits 1 or less than 1 and since Eldia was destroyed that specific conflict was put to an end
I'm not saying this to sound depressing and stuff, but it was interesting to see that the story unfolded in such a way that the only character who wanted to be free all of his life was bound as a slave. And no matter how much people want peace, it eventually loops back to conflict
Underrated comment
Jean after mikasa is buried next to Eren: 😢
Jean after mikasa is with Eren in the afterlife: 😢
It is Eren's gravestone is it not? He was born 835 and died during the Rumbling at age 19 at the year 854?
Thank you for this video, because I did feel the ending was rather dark; with violence and war never ending, but I do know that, that is the truth of reality. Violence is part of human nature, always has been, always will be.
But like you brought up in this video, despite the negative existential ending, it does still show that good and beautiful things can happen too. And peace can be achieved and we can grow and learn from our mistakes. The world isn't wholly black or wholly white, it's both. We humans are capable of great destruction and great compassion. We are known to adapt and change. So whilst I am still sad that Eren couldn't have had the life he wanted or broken free from his fate, his sacrifice did help the world become a better place and even if it didn't last forever, I'm glad it still lasted a long time.
So thank you for this video, it really helped put things into perspective and has made me hopeful for the future.
Perhaps the greatest trait of humans is that we can hope and we can fight for a better world, a better life, and to be a better person.
Funny that you think thats Jean.
A dope observation I saw on some comments: the titans power all started with founder Ymir running away from dogs hunting her and then entering the tree. In this new future, this boy has a dog companion with him calmly exploring and entering the tree. A sign of hope that things improve perhaps?
I like the ending of AoT, but I think wars can be abolished like many other horrible things in human history. The only problem that we must solve is abolish states as we know it. The mistrust between states and lack of international law are the two main factors that lead to war. But it can be solved. One way is total war for total domination over the Earth, other ways are more acceptable for example, through cooperation we can achieve some kind of Earth federation. The main problem with wars is that they can in our times turn into absolute destruction of everything. But I hope and I firmly believe, that we are at least pointed in the right direction. We must keep on fighting for peace and justice, so other generations will live in what we now can only imagine. 心臓を捧げよ。
I just finished the anime and I'm in such a turmoil.
So, Eren sacrificed billions of people to give his friends happy lives, is this the fulcrum of the story?
Problem is not the ending itself, it's all of the time paradox bs, when you start messing with timelines or time travel in stories it always leads to that, never has been done right and never will be.
That said, I don't mind how the ending itself was handled, I too probably just expected something different but since I don't have a better idea what would that be I'll just be happy with what it is, it was a great series.
You forgot to mention the ring on Mikasa hand at her funeral, you can see the silver ring between her finger and the Flowers
mikasa isn't married, the flowers she is buried with represents purity and virginity, the kid is porbably from historia's orphanage, she probably adopted the kid as she was adopted as a kid, jean being in that scene just means he didn't stop being in love with mikasa but it not represents that they are together (i don't think it's jean, i think it's armin)
I need to saviour and take my time watching your videos on this... Absolutely love them ❤️❤️! Thank you!!
IMO. I don't think that everyone needs to marry or new love to find happiness. remember that they lived together in paths for 4 full years. I personally think that strengthen their bonds further as it already much. symbolism also has been used in the end credits. for example flowers on her deathbed- on her deathbed we see 6 carnation flowers, carnation flowers in general symbolizes love, commitment and devotion. similarly those 3 white flower represents innocence and purity of a women, and those 3 light blueish represents devotion and true love. it pretty much conveys that mikasa still waiting for eren. everybody seems to look over these symbol. again remember that eren wanted mikasa to be free and be happy, so she is free. she also chose to love eren till her last moment that's is also her own free will. what about happiness that eren always wanted for mikasa? well, since she is free, she chose to love eren that is also her happiness. back to the point of that not everyone needs to marry to find happiness. a lof of movie also conveys this. might not be obvious I can think of one and this one is well know too. John Wick his wife has died, he still stay happy by thinking about her and remember her. where is armin? it wouldn't make sense for armin to visited eren once and then disappeared. I believe that the guy besides mikasa is armin all along. they also buried next to each other, and I think that the old man is armin as he is the last to died. just like in their childhood armin was the last one to reaches the tree.
Who’s the baby she’s carrying?
@@nyle5280 don't know for sure, but a lot of people consider the child is adopted as mikasa also adopted by eren's family so she know the important of the family hence that is why she chose to adopted a child
@@pepesad4474 Lol I don’t want to believe she had a kid with Jean. However, It appears to be the case
@@nyle5280 again it not confirm we have to wait for volume 35 besides in the anime they made it more harder to see who's who
All Mikasa wanted is a family. Just because Eren died she shouldn’t try again.
I find it funny that Isayama literally left it all up to interpretation, but people are still explaining it. It’s clear there wasn’t a definitive answer to whether Titans will come back.
Also the Titans/Hallucigenia will manifest what is in this boys heart, if they do come back. And they may be used to just build the world into a new better one. The true beauty of this series is that you can draw your own conclusion. The true sign of a true masterpiece of art.
For all we know, the boy just wants some tacos, so the source will give him unlimited tacos lol.
There's truly no gurantee titans will return, or they might after many cycles. We don't know and I love that about the ending.
it could be Jean with Mikasa during the end credits, but i'm glad the picture is low detail enough it's not 100% clear, cause I honestly kind of prefer it to be someone we don't know. partially because the main point of that section of the sequence is to show that while she did move on with her life and find someone else, she did always remember Eren, who exactly she ended up with isn't important. And also because I think it's better for Jean as a character to have moved on from that crush on Mikasa, which hadn't really come up much by seasons 3 and 4 anyways.
but hey, if you want it to be Jean with Mikasa at the end, its just detailed enough that if it's someone we know it could be Jean. it being open to interpretation is something I like about that part. because, again, WHO she ended up with isn't the point of the scene.
Jean isn't blonde, though. My thoughts is either it's just Armin visiting with Mikasa or she ended up with Reiner (which would be funny)
I love that there are fans who realize that we dont need a hard answer to everything (like, who exactly is the father of Historia's child) - the point is that everyone can and must find a way to move forward and find happiness. No matter what has happened, even if it might happen again, it's worth it.
@CmdrChrisArcher Was it just me or did I not see a blonde guy with Mikasa? I swear I saw a light red-pink haired guy.
Also Jean's crush was still shown in Night Before the End at the beginning of the episode
I really think it was him who married her because if we look back when he was thinking about his future wife, child. It was obviously Mikasa like cmon! 😂
@@purpledrea45Now if you're talking about jean daydreaming about mikasa and having crush on her, Remember there was a time when even eren and historia was a thing, there were many interaction between them eventually made sense. But isayama badly threw that ship. As far jean and mikasa, which was least developed with zero interaction between them, because of mikasa character, he would never end up them together. Jean and mikasa was never a thing itself. Even as far as mikasa character goes it doesn't make sense. You guys are making everything so obvious without having second thoughts 🫡
There's a scene of old Armin visiting Eren and Mikasa's grave.
Because Eren would reach the tree first, Mikasa second, and Armin third.
6:40 was i the only one that thought the helicopter crashed into the building.
Thx
I want to bet the adventurer and his dog at the end was taking place exactly 2000 years after the death of Eren, as a sort of poetic continuation.
Yesss
6:11 Old armin visiting eren and mikasa's grave😢
I think something significant is the car seen when mikasa is old. We know AOT takes place in roughly the early 1900’s. That car next to the rebuilt fence is clearly from the 1950’s. Doesn’t change much but it does show how much time has passed.
Something i noticed nobody saying so far is how the tombstone is nameless, and how Mikasa mentioned burying what was left under that tree so he could have a proper burial.
Great words towards the end, I definitely think most people dont think about how far we have come as humans. Great video 💪🏾
I really like these kinds of ending. Resolved yet open-ended
I don’t want Mikasa and Jean do end up together 😭😭
For EreMika fans who believe that Eren wants Mikasa to stay single for her lifetime and Mikasa is a cheater by marrying Jean (or "Some Random Guy in post-credit"), remember that Eren himself tells mikasa that "please forget about me, throw that scarf and live long and happily"
Mikasa never throw that scarf, Mikasa never forget Eren, but Mikasa also deserve a loving husband, raise her kids, have a loving family around her, and Jean is a perfect man for here, because Jean loves her since back in training camp, of course "Anti-JeanKasa" fans are against this simply because they believe "Jean is an *sshole ! 😡horseface 🐴 ", people who said that usually only stick on Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, never see other character development and only seen Jean as he in Season 1.
Jean change so much for all those years, from a brat who ashamed to his own mother, attention seeker, Eren's rival (in season I), to caring friend towards his comrades (in season 2 and 3), a sad and depressive man in Season 4 (final season), but one thing didn't change from Jean, his love for Mikasa even thought he knew Mikasa only love Eren, even after Jean and MIkasa got married, he still accompanying Mikasa to regularly visit Eren's grave.
My boy just spoiled JJK w no warning lmao crazyyyy
i couldn't agree more. And i believe that Jean ending up with Mikasa is beatiful for both of them.
No, it’s disgusting 🤮
@@raikiriwizard8440 why would it be
Its not Jean, its Armin. If not, Why Armin doesn't visit Eren's grave till he is old?
And those flowers in Mikasa's hands symbolizes virginity and purity
In manga and anime in front of Eren’s tombstone 4 flowers meaning : My feelings won’t change until I die (from reddit)
No flowers when Mikasa died of old age in manga but interesting enough in anime they put 5 flowers, I searched and find the 3 different meaning : wishing happiness, no regrets, and heartfelt joy meeting you (Eren in afterlife?) 🥺😭
