      In the LDS church we call our mothers ‘Ruby’. It’s just a coincidence that’s also her mother’s first name. We call our fathers ‘Kevin’ too. Also a coincidence.

    Why do people interviewing victims of abuse insist on asking if they forgive their abusers? *Why should they?*
    I'm a survivor of adult domestic abuse, perpetrated by a romantic partner. My day-to-day life involves finding ways to push aside memories of the abuse and live a decent, happy life despite the effect it has had on me. I absolutely do not forgive my abuser, who knew what he was doing and made a _choice_ to do so every time he hurt me. Victims have to find a way to move forward despite the lasting effects of abuse - and those effects are lasting enough that they'll probably be with them for their entire lifetime. It's an insult to what survivors have suffered to ask them to forgive their abusers, and I don't think anyone who properly understood and empathised with their experience would do so.

      Their are kids who don’t get food period. I’m notorious excusing child abuse at all, but these kids were privileged as hell. I knew kids who didn’t have beds or anything and their parents were on drugs. Glad she got out but still. They were privileged. I just wish they would’ve helped Gabriel Fernandez when he was clearly being beaten and abused. White kids and privileged kids clearly get help more than any other race

      Well, I can tell you that I used to watch her channel. It was called '8 Passenger.' As a bachelor, only child with no kids who's family is all dead now, I actually used to envy them. They were rich, had friends, seemed to have a nice loving family, etc. All the things I do NOT have.
      However, being in my 50's at the time, I WAS picking up on things that seemed strange to me. Her way of parenting for one. The kinds of punishments she would hand out for another. I actually didn't know if it was real or fake just for the channel to gain viewers. I now know it's all true. I also knew they were Mormons so I attributed a lot of it to just nutty religious beliefs because her way of parenting DID incorporate a lot of Mormon beliefs into it. As a Catholic, I don't believe in Mormonism because what they believe, namely a 14 year old farm boy in upstate New York finding golden plates where God basically said everyone got it wrong and THIS is how one is supposed to live and that Jesus Christ actually set foot in Jackson County Missouri and he was to not show the plates to anyone makes no sense at all. During Christ's time, the only people here were the American Indians. Plus, even Moses was told by God to show the people the 10 Commandments. So why would God tell some teenager to keep the plates a secret?

    • @kymorgan9775
      @kymorgan9775 4 дні тому +6

      I used to watch their channel as a teenager, I remember a video of theirs addressing where their oldest son Chad went since he hasn’t been in videos. They sent him to a wilderness boot camp for his behavior, as a teenager myself I thought that was strange because what could he have done so bad to get sent away? Later one they posted about how they took away Chad’s bed for telling their youngest son that they were going to DisneyWorld when they weren’t. I stopped watching after that, the channel became very dark and the kids always looked scared to be on camera and in front of Ruby.

      @@kymorgan9775 Did you know that some viewers actually called child protective services on Ruby after that video where she said she took Chad's bed away?

    • @coyoteclockworkstudios3140
      @coyoteclockworkstudios3140 3 години тому

      @@wiebki Two things can be true at the same time. Mormonism screams at the top of it's lungs, frothing at the mouth, that men are the spiritual leaders of the household. THEY make decisions. THEY protect the family. And it's very obvious that the father didn't like that responsibility being forced on him anymore than Ruby liked being forced to be a mother.
      The father may well have been an abuse survivor at the same time he was 100% enabling the abuse. He was a coward who gave in to everything. And this is what happens when the LDS church takes zero responsibility for the abuse that happens in their midst.

    I’ve see all these comments since her arrest about Kevin how should be prosecuted too but I don’t agree. The psycological manipulation she put on ALL of them, in starting the channel, in Connexion’s teachings. She had such a superiority complex over Kevin and the kids, he does not deserve to be prosecuted. Do still think he made some questionable decisions as a father? 100 percent and he should have that weigh on his conscience. But, overall, he is not a criminal and I believe that is why Shari has a strong desire to reconnect with him.

    As someone who used to watched them when I was younger (now in my 20s) the abuse was SO obvious but because Ruby was targeting towards children it was seen as 'okay' even though everyone who did watch them at a younger age like I did, knew what was happening and have been waiting for them all to get justice! I remember loving the channel so much, I still remember all their names and have many videos still stuck in my mind from how sad, even as a child like me, knew their situations were (one I remember was the classic sad case of when Chad got his BED AND DOOR taken from him.❤‍🩹)
