I own and drive a g8 and what I’ve noticed with the handling of the car is that it will do corners and twisty shit (think mountain pass run) but for some reason any time you wanna put power done, the car wants to go straight. Even if your spinning and doing some illegal shit, the car wants to straighten its self out.
I only watched this because I have a G8 myself.... ^_^

I love my G8 GT, mine is also cammed, ported rod modded intake and tb, upgraded valvetrain, and a ZL1 converter, made 430hp and 410tq to the wheels. I daily drive mine.
Right on, I have a 700hp, maggie tvs1900, cammed, full exhaust, pat g tuned, g8 myself and this was a great video showcasing the g8. Some BMR sway bars greatly improve the handling as well if they have any gripes with the cornering capabilities.
I bought my Pontiac G8 GT new in 2009. I have right at 75,000 miles on it and it has been a great car. Before I have any issues I am going to have the DOD fuel management removed and have a higher performance cam put in, along with tuned pipes and cold air induction. If the wallet allows I may have a supercharger put on as well. With a high performance tune I should be able to get 425 to 450 hp and with the supercharger around 580 to 600 hp. This car is a keeper. As far as intakes go, definitely look at the VCM over the radiator intake. Best one on the market hands down! I have it on my 2013 caprice and its fucking awesome! Looking at 20-50 HP gain from that intake alone! Dyno proven by the aussies. The ladder number is with a tune. But out of the box it's a noticeable difference. And the sound is amazing!!

I have one of these in Australia mine is 2011, perfect daily that I can have fun with on the weekends. Done a bit over 100,000 kms and still a holding up really well.

I've gotta disagree on the handling aspect you guys keep saying straight line only.. You do know this car has a 50/50 weight balance and handles like an 2009 m5 right? By the looks of the front tires in one of the shots I'm gonna say possibly an alignment issue that's leading you guys to your outcome. Every person I've let drive my car in the twisties has been amazed at how it sticks and even more amazing is faces in the mid size cars I pass on road course events.
Not saying it's the end all greatest car ever but saying a fully independent suspension car doesn't handle is like saying local cops let you off for speeding..

Great video, great car! I've had mine for just over 2 years now and driven 30k miles. It looks like Jacob has Corsa for the exhaust which you really can't beat for minimizing the drone and the nice sound it makes. Look me up if your ever in TX if you want to drive another one.

i bought the car im feb. 2014 and have done every mod to it. the car has a cam, under drive pulley, Frankenstein racing ported/milled heads, titanium valves, vararam intake, Kooks longtube headers, xpipe, solo axlebacks, camaro 3.45 rear differential, all 4 cts-v 4 pot brakes, camaro ss front rotors, 2015 chevy ss rear rotors, camaro ss wheels, rear window diffuser, and front splitter.

I have a 400 rwhp and this car is my favorite to daily. Good luck finding one though, 6000 gts were made and 1800 gxps were made. I personally had to drive 4 states away for mine

Hey guys, love the G8, I am in Melbourne Australia and still love my VE SS Thunder Ute 6ltr - 6 speed auto... I've put a Group A Touring Car Cam and Higgins Stage IV Heads with bigger throttle body, bigger injectors, OTR cold air intake, tuned Genie 1&3/4 inch headers with X-Force Group A X 100 Hi-Flow CATS into solid Stainless Steel 3'inch system. It is MAFLESS tuned to run on BP Ultimate 98 octane fuel only, making 323rwkw(435hp) at the rear wheels. Being a ute - it is serious fun to drive unless it's wet, then it is a bit of a handful..... still loads of fun and sounds like a Aussie V8 Supercar... Might do a video of it and splice it with it's Dyno run at APS in Melbourne... These guys know how to build an engine and a racecar..! check them out in the Link below..

G8 is a classic ❤❤👍👍👏👏 and the best Pontiac and the GTO too.
This cars' greatest achievement, along with its' brother the Chevy SS or Holden Commodore VF, was making the two door sports car the second choice for 6 days of the week.
Great to get the Corvette or the Camaro or the Mustang or the Challenger out on Sunday for a coast run, but Monday to Saturday this cars keys were (and are) the ones you pick up.

Buy this it's so much better overall compared to the 4.6 cobra 2v they used in 2001 may not always beat the cobra because the Mustangs lighter and is manual plus more aerodynamic this is just newer it has a LS 3 top end and LS2 bottom end so you can mod this thing easily to say 600hp and keep a stock block so add a pro charger and eat you some rice and ponies all day long and fix the transmission for better shift points that's what I'd suggest I myself am looking into this too but as my first car I've chosen to buy
+Tyler Walter the cobra comes with 320 hp stock with the 4v engine. I wish the g8 was manual
+moneyhungryyt Still depends on if you're just performance or want something more of a higher end muscle car but I can understand if you want something purely for performance I'd probably get the 2001 Cobra if you like the old interior but I like the G8 more though interior wise
+Tyler Walter ya g8 is def more comfortable and the interior is way nicer. Also stock for stock there about the same performance wise, although g8 pushes more hp

Pretty much same setup as I have on my 2013 caprice PPV. Kooks 1-7/8"X 3" long tube headers, kooks 3" x pipe to solo axlebacks. Only difference is I have a Catless X pipe and he has high flow cats.

It's an L76 which is essentially just a detuned 6.0 LS2 with cylinder deactivation. Most people just delete the cylinder deactivation and put a small cam in it and they get this beautiful beast ^_^

Ok well yea technically it is an import and they probably didn't realize that, but it's still got an American drivetrain and is a General Motors car since they own Holden, just built in another country. My Dodge was built in Canada (way before Chrysler was purchased by Fiat) but I still consider it an American car
