I have the Uma pineapple in 'black', and it is my favourite soprano. I am enjoying the fuller, richer tone and the elegant, stylish looks, which remind me of the Anuenue AMM series. Great little uke!
Yay for the soprano and even smaller sizes! I love that pineapple. I need to try that shape to see if it's easier on the strumming arm near the inside elbow. I hate when the edge digs in.
I love sopranos and Pineapple shapes, I have the Uma Uk-20SSP and I love it, I love the sound, it’s amazing to play and the colour is gorgeous. Thanks for doing a video on soprano ukuleles 😊
The soprano ukulele size is my very favourite size......I have one baritone, a couple of tenors, a few more concerts and even a few sopranino ukuleles but, my collection is dominated by the soprano ukulele featuring many single tonewoods and combinations of tonewoods. What I don't like is the heavier closed gear tuners is that sometimes they have a balance issue and I wouldn't ever buy a blue ukulele....natural colours are for me !
@@SenfMustard I can only narrow it down to about five .....two are Lani ukuleles*; a Lani LS55 (all flamed maple, natural finish and which has a slightly deeper 65mm bout), a Lani LS200 (all maple, gloss finish); a Theodore (all rosewood, natural finish); a Cantabile (all walnut, natural finish) and a Freshman FU3S (all koa, natural finish with electrics), with a couple of all mahogany sopranos, a spruce top and a cedar top soprano as well ......oh dear, that's not five it's now eight ......and those are the ones that spring to mind !......mind you, the Lani LS55 - bought as a "B-stock item for £25 which came with friction tuning pegs - which I exchanged for dolphin tuning pegs for around £5 - is always close to hand and has you might expect, has such a lovely bright tone. Moreover, as I recall, I've never paid more than £95 for any of my ukuleles. * bought from the now defunct "Music Room, Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire
Alex. Would it be possible to include nut width in the description of the ukeleles that you test please? Would be very handy in helping to choose the most comfortable model. Thanks
Probably obvious for all your viewers from romance-language speaking countries, but... I believe Enya dropped the old "Kaka" sub-brand (which used to be their "higher than average quality" brand, I think) because "kaka" sounds exactly like... the word for "poop". Especially in Spanish speaking countries (but Italy too). And that's a good chunk of the world 😀
Great to see a soprano video. Am I the only person who has a collection of ukes with no tenors? Have sopranino, sopranos, concerts and a baritone. I don’t have a pineapple. That is a very good-looking and sounding pineapple uke you are showing there…
I am liking the Ohanas...I have the SK-39....but also a Kala KA-SEM that just hangs around and is never out of tune...so I pick it up a lot .....that ocean blue Uma...nice sound, great look, though not a big fan of the logo......somehow the balance of sound and aesthetics are ever an issue for me...first world problem, for sure!
Five sopranos, not a single one with friction pegs. Such a disappointing trend in recent years, especially with Ohana who seem to have switched almost entirely to guitar-style tuners, but presumably that's what is in fashion at the moment.
that brand name is a big put-off for italian speakers kaka = cacca ( crap ) , as you say in English , shit happens , sorry for the joke , at least it has a spruce top and not a mahogany so lookwise not so kaka
Love the look of the Uma Pineapple..
It's a fantastic uke. I've had mine for a few months now and I love it.
I’ll always love the tenor size the best, but the Uma pineapple soprano sounded wonderful and the blue colour is amazing!
I want an Uma pineapple. They are so cute!
I have the Uma pineapple soprano uke in black (brown) and absolutely love it

Love the soprano ukulele, really surprised that it's not so popular now. That blue Uma pineapple is the dogs!

Do you have a favourite soprano?

They all seem great for the money, I don't have a pineapple so I think it might be on my wish list!
Fan of Ohana here, my wife has the Sopranino
Thanks! I love soprano size. I will have to research the enya/kaka its very pretty, and i have been dreaming of an uma pineapple for months now.
I prefer Tenors, but am looking for an inexpensive soprano, for fun. These all look good. I especially like the the Uma Pineapple.

There should be a nut width in the listing of every uke on the website.
With a soprano I'd probably only think to mention it if it was wider than 35mm
@@SouthernUkuleleStore ok. Wider is better for those of us with larger hands.
Yes. I agree... I've probably said this in over 200 videos previously 😅
@@SouthernUkuleleStore apologies. I’ve only just started watching! 😉
Well, thanks for watching! 👀

It also means the same in Hungarian 😅

Uma was a very good sounding uke
Does the slotted headstock make the Uma Pineapple a bit neck heavy? I've read in some review that this was a bit of an issue with this model
It's not something I have noticed on it and usually if it is something I feel in the moment I try to mention it in the video.

Love the Flight Alex.
I’m not a huge fan of sopranos, but that blue Uma is beautiful 😍
Any thoughts on the best sopranissimo in stock?
We don't have anything in stock right now but on the whole - ohana do the sopranino better than anyone else making a production uke.
Next video: '5 not so affordable soprano ukuleles.

I agree, it's quite literally a shit name.
