OK Why they don't converted all crude oil to gas same as FCC process but to produce gas only and some residual carbon? Is there any process to cracking all crude oil to gas? It is all about organic chemistry. Oil has very little associated natural gas in a barrel of oil. The carbon bonding structure dictates the product depending on whether more alkanes or alkenes are present. Any gas produced during well production separates the natural gas stream from the crude oil production known as primary separation. Due to the characteristics of natural gas and crude oil the gas will flash off and not be retained in the oil. Simple terms there is no great amount of natural gas present in solution in a barrel of oil. Hope this helps.
