It's mechanization of a social framework for control and gain. If it weren't, there'd be no related authority figures and "sects" wouldn't exist, because pharasitic behavior would be nil. There's a reason why people call Abrahamism contradictory. Things tend to get a little broken and begin developing internal conflicts after so many thousands of years of twisting off loose ends and reapplying bandaids... The church structure and the mafias who run that racket have been hanging on for so long that they now have mental gymnastics and an excuse for every single behavior and concept they engage with that contradicts biblical text. The semantics are absolute class entertainment. Lol. On top of it all, It's too late to rewrite the bible again because of the internet. It'd be too obvious if they changed things to fit their needs again.. They're trying, though. The only real option they have now if they want to keep a grip on the masses through use of spirituality, is to create a new secular church that combines the Abrahamic faiths, and that's exactly what they're trying to do. Where I live, a few years ago our government removed the statute of limitations on SA and battery. I personally know someone who was a victim as a child and received justice because of this. It's so important.

As an honorably discharged Army medic and retired corrections officer I know what kind of future this predator is facing. He deserves everything and it still won't be enough. I used to believe inmates were sent to prison "as" punishment for their crimes and now I believe it's "for" punishment.
The sad fact is that men often think they're alone in it and keep it hidden until years later. We've listened to a couple of grown men (30s and older) who went through it, and in certain cases (for instance Indian boarding schools) it's rather common. As I've told others, your willingness to talk about it is a sign that you've traveled towards the healing (usually never complete) that is needed, and I applaud you for that. Your voice is needed - to help other men who were abused as kids. For others who'd like to help, a non-critical listening ear is absolutely necessary and must be developed. There are also men who were not abused sexually or physically, but severely damaged mentally or emotionally, and that is common (and as a general rule, women in this culture have it worse). I wish we could shut down all of the fundamentalist and authoritarian churches, as the harm they do is so severe. We could never prove it and even a therapist said it was borderline impossible to excavate the memories but I have mental blocks from that instance that are suspicious.

Why should there ever be a statute of limitations on the crime of sexually abusing a child? Seems entirely antithetical to the timeframes in which victims might feel comfortable to recognize and report the abuses they endured as children.
The more authoritarian the institution the more abuse there will be, and the lower you are in the pecking order the more vulnerable to predation you become. That's why the most common place CSA happens is the home, then the church, then schools. Twelve hours after he received the file, police were at his doorstep to arrest him for possession of child porn. No, if you've been wronged it's an obligation to tell the authorities in order to not only get justice for yourself but to protect others who might also be harmed. Anyone who doesn't do so is complict in the crimes comitted against others in the futures. While children can be given a pass of a sort, adults especially should be charged as well for complict behavior of the rapist if they dont report and he/she goes on to harm others. The concept of "you can always accuse him any time you want" does nothing but utterly destroy trust and faith in the concept of justice because 20 years later "oh...I only now decided I was brave enough to accuse you as you were running for an elected position!" is happening an AWFUL LOT in our society.

Abc didn’t uncover it themselves, but they are one of the first mainstream media news outlets in the US to break the story to the public. All of this was blown wide open to ex members and current members of the congregation of the 2x2’s or “the truth” -as members refer to it, in March of 2023, when a highly respected overseer of the western US died under suspicious circumstances for a church overseer and was as a result investigated by the local jurisdictions and found to be in possession of large amounts of cash, as well as inappropriate (for a man in his position) correspondence with female subordinates and members who he was found to have had a history of abusing in a myriad of ways. Despite other church leaders and overseers being informed of his wrong doings, the decedent was still given a funeral with the highest honors afforded in the church, along with his personal laptop and cellular devices attempted at being erased and subsequently hidden and not relinquished to the proper authorities for several months during the active investigation. All of this news was communicated to a very select few elite families in the cult, and one of those families leaked the information to the ex members & current members, which essentially opened the flood gates. Members & ex members & even former workers, started reporting in mass numbers about their own abuses at the hands of church overseers, other workers, elders, and church members. Decades of largely sexual abuses of men, women, and children and their coverups came to light within a matter of months, and still keep coming. There are 1000’s of credible allegations & reports at this point, and the FBI is actively investigating the cult nationwide. I was 4th generation born and raised in this religious cult, and thankfully left years ago as I became an adult. So, if I understand this correctly, the tech CEO who is the head of a church is guilty of systemic sexual assault against of children across decades. But news report note no members of the church would confirm any knowledge of it. That implies that the parents of all the abused children and the community as whole must have lied about it all. AND somehow only the church leader was prosecuted after the investigation . They simply infer they are hoping there could be more charges at some future date. Does that sound right to anyone? At a minimum , the FBI must be absolutely terrible at their job if they couldn’t be bothered to bust a whole group of child abusers. Never understood why there should be a statutory limitation on any felony, except for those committed as a minor when the limitation should apply to all but the most serious felonies.

Then there were other religious organizations that were abusing children. Mormons, Latter Day Saints, Jevoah Witnesses and many more. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. What's the difference between 'cult' and 'church'? I can't think of one either.

As an honorably discharged Army medic and retired corrections officer I know what kind of future this predator is facing. He deserves everything and it still won't be enough. I used to believe inmates were sent to prison "as" punishment for their crimes and now I believe it's "for" punishment.
The sad fact is that men often think they're alone in it and keep it hidden until years later. We've listened to a couple of grown men (30s and older) who went through it, and in certain cases (for instance Indian boarding schools) it's rather common. As I've told others, your willingness to talk about it is a sign that you've traveled towards the healing (usually never complete) that is needed, and I applaud you for that. Your voice is needed - to help other men who were abused as kids. For others who'd like to help, a non-critical listening ear is absolutely necessary and must be developed.
There are also men who were not abused sexually or physically, but severely damaged mentally or emotionally, and that is common (and as a general rule, women in this culture have it worse). I wish we could shut down all of the fundamentalist and authoritarian churches, as the harm they do is so severe.

All of this was blown wide open to ex members and current members of the congregation of the 2x2’s or “the truth” -as members refer to it, in March of 2023, when a highly respected overseer of the western US died under suspicious circumstances for a church overseer and was as a result investigated by the local jurisdictions and found to be in possession of large amounts of cash, as well as inappropriate (for a man in his position) correspondence with female subordinates and members who he was found to have had a history of abusing in a myriad of ways. Despite other church leaders and overseers being informed of his wrong doings, the decedent was still given a funeral with the highest honors afforded in the church, along with his personal laptop and cellular devices attempted at being erased and subsequently hidden and not relinquished to the proper authorities for several months during the active investigation. All of this news was communicated to a very select few elite families in the cult, and one of those families leaked the information to the ex members & current members, which essentially opened the flood gates. Members & ex members & even former workers, started reporting in mass numbers about their own abuses at the hands of church overseers, other workers, elders, and church members. Decades of largely sexual abuses of men, women, and children and their coverups came to light within a matter of months, and still keep coming. There are 1000’s of credible allegations & reports at this point, and the FBI is actively investigating the cult nationwide.
I was 4th generation born and raised in this religious cult, and thankfully left years ago as I became an adult. The news of all of this widespread abuse came as a bit of a shock, but when I examined even my own experience with the cult, I realized just how many abusive situations & coverups I was even privy to as the child of an elite family, myself. Many of us have been being interviewed by the FBI for months now, about our experiences and knowledge about the cult group and its various illegal and immoral activities, myself included.

So, if I understand this correctly, the tech CEO who is the head of a church is guilty of systemic sexual assault against of children across decades. But news report note no members of the church would confirm any knowledge of it. That implies that the parents of all the abused children and the community as whole must have lied about it all.
AND somehow only the church leader was prosecuted after the investigation . They simply infer they are hoping there could be more charges at some future date.

At a minimum , the FBI must be absolutely terrible at their job if they couldn’t be bothered to bust a whole group of child abusers. At worst the FBI is doing what it is well known for with some dirty dealing going on that needs a much closer look.

I have several acquaintances who are part of this faith. From what I understand they wouldn’t be considered christian but Old Testamenters. I don’t believe they believe in Jesus as son of God but a profit. Yes. Very secretive.
They believe he is the son of God and they believe they are following him but they don't believe they are doing anything wrong enough to keep them out of heaven even though they have caused many to fall away from lack of spiritual care.

Then I begin reading about all the priests involved in sexual abuse and that it had been going on for decades, DECADES. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. Then there were other religious organizations that were abusing children. Mormons, Latter Day Saints, Jevoah Witnesses and many more. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. Religious people living out in the country, adopting children and abusing them, yet they are suppose to worship God. This and OTHER ISSUES, drove me away from religion. I just live by the Golden Rule. It has worked well for me.

Well, the statute of limitations should be abolished world wide in relation to sexual abuse and rape and in relation to abuse (any) and serious assault (any).
Especially where child sexual abuse is concerned, the current limitations just protect perpetrators.
