I've been searching all around on youtube for a folder for my planner and this is the best one. This is quick and easy and very inexpensive. Love it! Thanks for sharing.
Made one this morning and this is pure genius. It turned out great and I especially like the clipped holes so that it opens out from either side. Thanks for this video!
That was brilliant! I have been using the Franklin planners in the classic size for 20 years now and wanted one in turquoise but they wanted over $100 for it...I found one at the thrift store for $2.00, but it doesn't have many side pockets, so this will be great. I love the way you make it usable to open from both sides...I am thinking this would be a great way to do an envelope system for budgeting -- cash on one side, receipts on the other, with a folder for each category. Love this. Thanks so much for posting!
Sooo great! At first, I thought, I would prefer the opening to be near the edge of the note pages. But, I understand the opening now; nothing will fall out. I'm on my way to Target!! Thanks for a beautiful tutorial.
You are Bar None the best teacher for planning. I love this folder for my personal. I am trying to get the measurements for a Classic FC and it's not happening, but I am not giving up. LOL Love all your tutorials!
Marylou Gomez I don't have a Midori myself, but my husband does! You can definitely use this method and adapt it for a midori, just use one of your MTN notebooks as a guide and draw out the outline for your folder as I did and cut to size!
Thank you for this! I made the folder for my medium sized gold kikki k and used the leftover folder paper for a dashboard with a tab :) love your videos
Traci Reed Great idea, although I will say I have been using the same folder for months on end in various planners and it has held up great, no issues yet! I think if you use a quality file folder as your base, they tend to hold up nicely!
I would love if you could show us how to make the swing pad, I love this, but I only know how to make it not laminated, which is a problem. I wrote to Franklin Covey but they said they will not make the anymore. I would love this!
this is a great and simple diy, really inspired me to start crafting for my planner :D p.s.: no criticism, but I noticed that you say "actual" or "actually" very often^^
I randomly picked up a pack of these file folders yesterday at Target and then ran across this tutorial. I just made one for my recollection personal planner and it works great.. however, the glue is not drying on these shiny folders, lol. I need to use a stronger glue next on the next one.
wow awesome idea!! I am kinda new in the pllaner/filofax world - I created my own planner for the 1st one - can't wait for 2015 to began to use it :-) I will definately do my own pocket as living in Canada, we often do not have the same stuff in Michaels or Target and most of the time, I can't find all the good stuff you find :-) Thanks for the idea! Love your video
you should tottlay check out a Erin condren planner I love them sooo much and they even print your name there and there so organized go check them out!!!
I don't have a File Folder on hand, am I able to use a card stock paper instead and laminate them so that it'll be thicker? Would I be able to fold the laminated card stock paper into a folder form without any problem?
Also, if not, what size hole puncher should I use? I am planning on getting a single hole punch but I am unsure of what size to get. I have the kate spade wellesley planner.
jadie nguyen If you are using a Filofax style 6-ring planner, I suggest this 6 hole punch, goo.gl/qz8rF3 but if you would also like a single hole punch, I believe the size is 1/4 inch Hope this helps!
Good DIY, but way too many "Actually" and "Actual". I find that MANY people putting videos on You Tube do the same thing. Please take this as constructive criticism. You have great ideas and I commend you for having the guts to make videos. It is just something to work on for future posts.
I have been searching high and low for a tutorial like this so I can crafting for my first filo. Thanks for sharing!

C. Rosario You are very welcome!
Love this idea! Do you think it would be a good idea to laminate the folder before applying the glue? Or do you think that would make it too bulky?
Learnto Crochet if you use a high quality folder, those are already coated, no need to laminate
Alexis aka MissTrenchcoat Thank you! I found them at Target.
Love this! Thanks for the video! :)
jessatonic You are so welcome Jess!
Love this DIY, thanks for the great idea ;)
Rocio Coello You are welcome- thanks for watching!
that is so cool!!!
Love this! I would fold it so the pockets were on the outside so I didn't have to compromise the integrity of the holes by opening and closing it!
Traci Reed Great idea, although I will say I have been using the same folder for months on end in various planners and it has held up great, no issues yet! I think if you use a quality file folder as your base, they tend to hold up nicely!

Annie C You are so welcome! Good luck with the planner DIYs!
Do you use a special hole punch or is it the standard hole punch size?
you should tottlay check out a Erin condren planner I love them sooo much and they even print your name there and there so organized go check them out!!!
good video!
I don't have a File Folder on hand, am I able to use a card stock paper instead and laminate them so that it'll be thicker? Would I be able to fold the laminated card stock paper into a folder form without any problem?
+Molina K Sum You can use card stock, but I wouldn't laminate it. If your feeling adventurous though, give it a try and let me know how it goes!
Genius. Totally clever. Very useful too; I'm going to rummage around and see if I can find a file folder to repurpose. Thanks Alexis. :-)
Angela Booth Thank you so much! I hope you have fun with the DIY!
I bet you were the smart one in class weren't you :-) I can't wait to do this. TFS
I'm going to try this! Do you use a regular hole puncher or is there a specific size I should get for the personal size? :)
Eva Cordova I believe you can see the punch I use in this video... its standard as far as I know!
Can you make a video of a Filofax divider without file or cardstock scrapbook paper.
awesome! gonna try it out when i can. :)
Quick question, can I use a three hole punch to put the inserts in?
Also, if not, what size hole puncher should I use? I am planning on getting a single hole punch but I am unsure of what size to get. I have the kate spade wellesley planner.
jadie nguyen If you are using a Filofax style 6-ring planner, I suggest this 6 hole punch, goo.gl/qz8rF3 but if you would also like a single hole punch, I believe the size is 1/4 inch Hope this helps!
Great!,,
I have the same six hold punch and that is my one complaint.
they need to make it for multiple layers. It would be so much handier.
What size hole punch do you use?
illhurturheart I use this 6 hole punch goo.gl/qz8rF3
This Filofax is the same measurements for my CC???? I am a newbie! Sandy
521LakeStreet About the same, I believe.

Are these file folders A4 size?
kinogodt I believe so 8.5"x11"
