Has there been much bait around when you’ve been there Pancho? Thinking about going down there tomorrow but worried the water is gonna be all dirty from the rain and wind we’ve had lately.
@@PANCHOSCOASTALKAYAKFISHING Right on, thanks for the info. Thats kinda what I was thinking. Probably gonna go cruise around and see if I can make some magic happen.
Its called a bait tube. I don't know if anyone sells them but they're super easy to make, really inexpensive and they work great. I made mine. Just google "DIY bait tube". Theres also a dude called flying fish tv on youtube that has a pretty good video on how to make them. The only crucial thing is that you use ABS for the tube and not PVC. You can buy pre cut 2 foot sections of ABS at home depot. The ABS lays in the water horizontally keeping the baits horizontal. PVC will sit in the water vertically and the baits won't last long at all sitting like that.
No I don’t sell any fish. I share it with friends and family. But halibut is usually pretty expensive. 20-30 dollars a pound for the fillet. This fish probably had close to 10 pounds of fillet. You can do the math.
Probably not dude. Sorry. I kinda like doin my own thing out there. But if you see me on the water, come say what's up. And if you got any questions or anything, don't hesitate to ask.
Shit man, I already don't get to fish as much as I want to. I appreciate the compliment but when I'm on the water I'm deeply focused on one thing and one thing only. Sorry bro. Just get out there. Time spent on the water is the best way to learn. Listen to the ocean. She'll teach you a lot.
This wasn't recent footage. I've only been able to get out like 4 times so far this year and been skunked everytime. They're gonna be showing up soon though.
Does anybody else find this hard to watch? I couldnt kill an animal like that, and not feel so much guilt. I just don't know how someone could go home and eat a fish they took the life from. It suffers and tries to escape from him. It's just awful to me
Kinda disturbing but seeing as the only other way to eat fish is to eat it alive (like the asians), I accept it and think it's best to cleanly kill it.
fishing single handedly for your own food like this is far better than buying in stores which just get theirs from mass farmers. those farmers or whatever catch all their fish in a large net or other extinction method which results in a lot more "suffering" than this
It sounds like you don’t know how to kill a fish properly. If you did, you wouldn’t make a comment like this. I immediately to a knife and stabbed it directly in the brain. When it shakes like that it means I did it correctly. It does that for 5 seconds or less and then never moves again. If it doesn’t shake like that it means you missed the brain and you’re just making it suffer more.
Awesome fish man! I love those whoops of excitement 👏
Thanks Matt!!! Yeah I usually get a little overly excited when I catch a good fish. Hahaha.
Damn nice one.
How do you pick spots to fish? Are there landmarks to look for (kelp beds, wrecks, etc)?

Do you end up selling the fish you catch? Whats a fish like that worth?

Was that on a bucktail? what oz. were you using? just bouncing it off the bottom? Thanks, I enjoy your videos.
yep. usually I'm throwing between 2 and 6 ounces just depending on the current and depth I'm fishing.
I'm new to your channel. Awesome Vids by the way. Just wanted to know what baitcasting rod that you are using
Thanks man! The rod with the bait caster is a 6'6" Shimano trevala 50-100. Great rod with plenty of bend but tons of power.
Question for you on your opinion on my electronics"finder, gps, etc," Keep on ripping lip and be safe, Hope to hear back and get your advice, thanks!

That reaction to that first Stab was hard to watch, but I feel better knowing he ate the thing.

Useless suffering for that fish. If un dont know How to kill it without all the suffer, just dont do that
I'd bet you know nothing about killing. Nothing at all. You just buy your delicious McFish and don't think twice about it.
