Grana Padano is real cheese made in the Po Plains (Pianura Padana). Parmigiano Reggiano is another kind of cheese made exclusively in 2 provinces of Emilia. Both cheeses are typical Northern italian😊👍
@@ItalyGuy That could be. It depends a lot from what region you are. We are very regionalist generally😄😄 Since Grana Padano is a typical northern cheese we probably use more here, in the south they use others. I personally love both Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano (and of course I'm from Veneto, so North-east Italy)👍
Do they have Old El Paso dips and chips?.....lol..thanks for the video, everything looks yummy. Can't wait to taste some of those mushrooms and the fresh olive oil.
Really loved this! I enjoy exploring and slowly roaming around "common" supermarkets when in a foreign country. I once was yelled at by an old Spanish man who thought I was crazy for standing in front of the olive oil section for so long in Madrid; he just couldn't understand what I was doing. I can dive deep to the variety of labels and products. And comparing to markets in the US, food is a lot cheaper in the EU, and the variety is greater. We have markets that sell imported foods, but they tend to be expensive, and you don't get the variety. I was sorry you didn't reach the coffee section; I was waiting to see if they had Jolly Caffee, a brand from the Firenze region and what I think is the best coffee I ever had!
I didn´t know you had that secret Italian fetish my dude. I knew you from 2NJB. Italians can have some difficult personality sometimes, hence the Karen in the video, but I appreciate that you appreciate the strong cultural side that we Italians have to offer. Thank you so much for the effort and all.
I miss Italy and your vlogs are so nice! Travel to other parts of Rome like trastevere, check out Trattoria Amici or Tonarello great spots. Have you ever been to la Costa Ulissi near Gaeta, Sperlonga, absolutely beautiful. Or a quaint village called Campodimele it has awesome hiking and known for longevità and great wholesome food ❤️
Whenever I go to Italy (or any European country) I always head to the different supermarkets (COOP, Conad, Carrefour, etc.). It gives me a feel for what's important to Italians in that area and I can see the differences between those and American supermarkets. It's like a child going into a candy store. All of them are like "gourmet" markets in America which differ greatly from mainstream American markets: cured meats, cheeses, olives, etc. are prominently displayed and in abundance. Also, once I went into a market in Firenze and bought a few items and grabbed one of their plastic bags. They started SCREAMING at me for taking a bag. I just said, sorry I'm from America and we don't pay for bags (although nowadays we do but not as much as that market was charging).
So it looks like this was your first video. Your enunciation was off, and I did not get where in Tuscany you were greeting "good morning." Closed-captioning caught the location as "Peter." Please slow down and speak more clearly. Many of us are interested in what you have to say. This is the first rule of being a good vlogger. I now see your Pitigliano tag above the video title. I've been to this Coop. It's not in the city center. Coop is a well-known grocery store chain, but you sure picked one of the most ugly store locations to do a shopping video. Why did you choose this store? Italy's grocery stores in basement-style locations are usually not very glamorous, and the lighting is often drab and the atmosphere dreadful. I was quite surprised by the unattractive shopping experience at this Coop, not to mention the stairway to get in and out. I'm also surprised that you didn't ask for permission to shoot. If getting permission is not possible, then a hidden camera might be the way to go. These grocery videos can be helpful to travelers, especially slow travelers like me. The grocery store in Italy is usually my first stop after picking up my rental car. You have a natural manner on-camera that I'm enjoying. Also a good speaking voice and a very attractive face. I'm looking forward to seeing you grow. I'd like to know more about you. Thank you for starting a channel.
What's your favorite thing about supermarkets abroad? Let me know down below👇
Thanks!
Enjoyed your vlog !
Thank you so much! It means a lot

I love Grana! But many Italians are being snobs about it

Thank you for the tips! I'll definitely check it out next time I'm in Rome!
Nice videos! Thank you! Are you a native Italian? Your location says Israel. I can't pick your Italian accent

You don't order things by the etto (100 grams): 3 etti di prosciutto ? ... ;-)
Not that I know! I only heard people order in grams
@@ItalyGuy Maybe it's a northern thing? -- I lived in Florence and Venice and everything was by the etto! Enjoy Italy.
Some Italian Karen had to get involved and ruin the video.
I'll make more! Promise
