He is "The Captain"...Dhoni was a very good captain and India had some excellent captains. But Saurav was the one who gave that bite to Indian cricket. He changed Cricket in India forever.
Saurav is a very nice and humble person. When he was playing for india. had a chance to meet him. Could not reach him because of a barrier. He took a few steps, came near us and shook hands. what a person !

I still remember Dada's 2006 commercial (main Sourav Ganguly, bhule to nahi) after he was dropped from team.. That advertisement pierced by heart.. From there to become BCCI President today.. Dada has come a long way.. This is what we call a COME BACK..

One of the greatest captains india has ever had. Took india to the final in his first world cup as captain in South Africa, came close to winning a test series in Australia. Won NatWest trophy in England. He achieved all this with a opening batsmen like Sanjay bangar, Akash chopra etc.
He always supports newcomers.... He made the strongest as well as winning team in those days.... Every player those who are played under his captainship said that he encourages us to play and gave chances
the best part about dada has been he never minces his words and whatever he did or does is totally transparent , frank and clean.

The greatest era of Indian Cricket , only thing difference between that Australia team and India team of that era is bowling line up spin is always filled with legends in fast bowling one does amazing other not that level of bowling game changers . If you put current bowlers like Bumrah , Shami , yadav Prime Ishant , not even the greatest AUS team any team in the world will not be able to take on that India team , would have dominated like current team .
