- HOW TO MASKING: • How to mask a pony in ...
I made this fast paced because everybody hates tutorials where every single slide of text fades in and out and takes up 15 seconds of the video. Those are dumb and I figured if you can pause then what's the point of having really long frames of text.
I didn't include chroma key in the FX part because it never works well enough to be considered worthy of use. masking is much better and often takes less time to get right anyways.
song in first part is Mahala Rai Banda - Mahalageasca
song in actual ytpmv part is Spread Like Wildfire by blake palmer

This video is where all of my YTPMVs started from..
Thank you so much for uploading this.
Whoa The legend
INFINITE DRAGON FEET
@@Der_Key do you feet
@ feet deez bits 💀
most fun tutorial ever
Massive respect for the no bullshit attitude to this video, straight to how to do it. Thanks a lot.
Somehow, I read all of those tips in Borat's voice.
Worth it.
You forgot to mention something important if you want it to look good.
When you import your clip, *DISABLE RESAMPLE* you can't do this later because you have to change it clip by clip, so if you forget to do it, it will be pure pain and suffering.
I got lost on step 1
can this be done in microsoft paint/notepad??? i dont have enouff dollers/punds to buy the vegas pro is 3money5me
Ye I did this on my minesweeper and it worked well
yar Har fiddle dedeee

i can do dis in a 1$ tablet that doesnt... really... wo... rk...
e-everything works... uhm...
mlg is not dead
Very good tutorial. Probably the only tutorial I've ever watched which has actually entertained me as well as informed me.
10/10, now know how to make YTPMV. Would YTPMV again.
The basics of YTPMV'ing (pitch shifting and basic image flipping/scaling) are so easy that I thought I didn't need to watch this, but I have learned some new stuff here, thank you very much.
This is by far the best YTPMV tutorial out there.
I LOVE THAT YOU PUT THIS UP
thank you so much
and this is the tutorial that got me learning vegas, thank you :) time truly flies
This is coming together quite nicely now, thanks.
finally a tutorial video that wasn't trolling and it was fun to to watch.
thanks I actually learned something.
I just wanted to say thank you again for this video, because it is funny, informational, and very VERY well made. I appreciate you spending time on it.
And you post this just before I leave for college for nearly 12 hours. CONFOUND IT!
This vid is so ahead of its time.
Hey, if you wanna make efficient YTPMVs, change the FPS in the project settings to "100.000"
That way you'll be better at YTPMVing arps
or uncheck quantize frames
I never thought about that whole plus and minus key to change the pitch, I tend to do it manually. This will save me a lot of time, thanks! c:
see I always thought that ytpmv'ers worked with some sort of midi device and the clips are added automatically, the fact that each and every note is keyed in by hand makes me respect the media that much more as funny as it sounds
Mike Fratelli well, SOME people use midis
+⑨ᵇᵃᵏᵃ⑨ what software allows MIDI triggering of the clip?
+Benjamin Wesley Morgan If you never got a reply/found an answer, a digital audio workstation (or DAW) can be used to assign a sample to a midi keyboard. Some common DAWs are Fruity Loops, Ableton, and Logic (Logic is mac only)
(@DarkMatter23) you could also just use a modtracker program and import the midi then replace samples
This helped me so much! I love the music too. Thank you! ♥
i'm probably not making ytpmvs anytime soon. but this is still a damn valuable vegas learning resource to me, the tips in this are seriously useful.
BEST
TUTORIAL
EVER
I've given up. Mine allways end up being shit
deldo123 I know that feel bro :/
+deldo123 I'm sick of feeling
Is there nothing you can say?
Take this all away
I'm suffocating!
Tell me what the fuck is wrong with me!
+deldo123 Never give up!
Everyone's first 1000 ytpmvs sound like shit (unless you have actual talent).
The most important thing is to have fun.
I know this video is 12 years old, but it was of a genuine help so thank you lol.
This was really helpful, and I like your sense of humour XD
I just got Sony Vegas and this video helped me a lot.
Man, YTPMV takes dedication.
Thanks man, really thanks. You're saved a lot of my time.
Oooohhhh thanks a million, I needed a good vegas tutorial for the ytp-friendly functions.
holy shit
I've been using this software for years and I had no idea it could even do this. I was shocked you were even using it, I'd written it off as useless. Imma study this shit, thank you so much!
Omg, same reaction. I had experience with sv8 for a few years now.
This has some useful stuff.
Never plan to do this but I love behind the scene stuff. Thanks!
I just fell in love.
SgtScrubNoob I just wanna thank you tons.
Thanks to this tutorial I've halfway completed my first ever YTPMV :D!
Just amazing tutorial dude... i learned so much! thats awsome! keep going!
Quick and informative, especially since people do indeed have access to a pause button.
THANK YOU
I LOVE YOU
Wow great video! I expected a 30 yr old guy explainin' but we get this masterpiece!
Great video, I feel extreamly stressed and my head hurts, but I did learn about track motion and cookie cutter. Thanks!
I LOVE YOU
GREAT VIDEO!
This is pretty good tutorial, now i see what was i doing it wrong lmfao.
i'll make better remixes and make some ytpmvs, thanks to you. :)
old spice is generally a good practice source because terry crews can hold a note for quite some time. also there's no music or other sound going on in the commercial so it makes it that much easier.
as for song, choose something you're inspired to do. working on something that you don't have a drive to finish is a terrible feeling.
Yes, I have it and it works perfect
I love you.
man i always wondered how people made these vids pretty cool
This should be helpful. Thank you for showing me how to change the pitch in Sony Vegas
Hey SgtScrubnoob thanks for making this tutorial, all the other tutorials are long, boring and end up teaching nothing.
This one however was funny, (WHICH IS A GREAT POINT BECAUSE YTP'S ARE ABOUT COMEDY, WHY WOULD YOU LEARN COMEDY FROM A COMEDIAN WHO'S NOT FUNNY?) and didn't take too much time.
This helped me out a lot and I'm going to try my own soon enough.
Wow.
I always knew doing youtube poops was hard, so much editing and time consuming but a YTPMV is way harder, it means crazy edits and crazy tone shifting and octaves adjusting and stuff...
This is gonna be rough.
Oh and thank you~
I'm now i'm gonna make my first ytpmv, THANKS :)
@nostalgicecho that's what I was going for, when it comes to more complex stuff it's honestly just better to let people develop their own way. When I do some complicated stuff, it may take way longer than it should, but it works for me. My method may not be ideal for someone else, so I just wanted to show them the very basics so they could develop their own workflow for more complicated techniques that would suit their personal preferences.
This is a very helpful video. Now if only I had the actual WILLPOWER to make myself want to put the effort into making a ytpmv
Oh man, really, thanks!
Thanks for this tutorial!
Track motion at 1:40 helped me a lot.
I vainly tried to give multiple clips one common animation, like by grouping the clips and using "Edit Pan/Crop"; which didn't quite work unless you saved the position of the last keyframe of the first clip as a template and used it as starting position for the next clip, but that doesn't work for everything, and i already assumed that it's far too complicated for what it does and that there obviously has to be an easier way.
/Rant
holy FUCK dude, I had no idea about the markers and looping to pitch-shift. You've saved me liek a milliobillion hours now :D
holy shit, thank you so much!
@MrXarlable I called it "beginner's guide" for a reason, and besides, according to the comments and the like / dislike bar it's been pretty helpful to plenty of people. SO THERE.
I suddenly have more respect for ytpmv guys, I don't know why exactly, but I thought this was a lot easier than it seems.
for octave changing, you can also combine shift and +/-.
But great tutorial, man. I actually picked up some new shiz from it myself.
Nice video, I give it a thumbs up!
SgtScrubnoob you are golden.
Thanks dude :D
jesus, it looked so easy in the video!
This looks helpful. :O
thanks a lot mate
@RoolerOfDoolz that's probably because your audio is still attached to the video it's sourced from
press ctrl+U to separate the audio from the video, and then you can move the audio freely without having it snap to the video ruler.
It was really useful, thanks.
Here's a result: BURNING GIR (turn up sound)
@Thingamajigs brilliant.
Yes you can, I have that version and it works fine (My YTPMVs are still crappy though)
Awesome tutorial, like, favorite, subscribe and all those other shenanigans
@MrXarlable Actually I'm a beginner at this , and this video was nothing short of amazing explaining how to make YPPMV
@MrXarlable sry, was having a shit time at work so just umm.....disregard my last comment plz
i apologize
the reason I don't plan on doing a tutorial on more complex / different methods is I wanted to showcase introductory aspects of vegas so that people can explore it and develop a method that works best for them. The way I do more complex stuff takes WAY longer than it should, but it works for me. I wanted people to find out what works best for them rather than simply do what I do.
nice tutorial bro
Oh thanks! I never heard of this in Sony Vegas 11 in 7 days :D
and I couldn't read the descriptions because of STUPID UA-cam mobile :D I like that thing :)
@341464 don't feel bad, I literally did the same thing with cookie cutter for like my first 5 ytpmvs
ight, im gonna attempt (and prolly fail) to make a ytpmv
No problem.
@MusashiKagehide unfortunately this video will only be up for exactly 12 hours
sry :(
Now I can make "Recalculate like GPS" YTPMV!
I was just like "holy cow how can I do that?! I'm just gonna use OpenMPT"
and began to screw up things...
BUT I CAN NOW DO THIS IN VEGAS!!!
HOLY GRAIL!!!
good shit
Thx dr.phill very cool
@UnanimousDelivers wa...huh.....WHAT
BUT
BUT YOU'RE THE REASON I GOT INTO YTPMV IN THE FIRST PLACE
YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO KNOW EVERYTHING
DEAR GOD I'M SO LOST RIGHT NOW
thanx for the keyframe part, that was pissing me off
@SgtScrubnoob Hi, just a question. I'm trying to change the pitch but nothings happens. I've pressed ctrl+shift+i like you said, and tried the + and - keys but still nothing happens. I'm a vegas noob (using a trial version atm) and just wanted to know if there's something I'm not doing right, Thanks.
Thank you so much! I wanted to make an Okama Goddess Tylenol myself. :3
Touhoulicious Thanks to him I finished my first Skrillex Tribute. :D
double click on the audio you want to change and press = on the keyboard to pitch up, and - on the keyboard to pitch down
I knew some of these things, but now I feel prepared for making some MEMES
I actually learned some things watching this. I'm still getting used to motion tracking.
Real good, although I had to check some things in Vegas 13 to learn that the + and - to pitch are set to - and = by default.
i have to have the same clip appear multiple times and fly by the screen over and over again in the same sequence, like come from left, stop in middle, fly right, and repeating with like 3 in a line. I have no idea what im doing, please help
@SgtScrubnoob *flips several tables in pure, unquenchable rage*
@flowerzinc but everyone just ends up pissing each other off and then it dies for like half an hour :(
also lately MrMister and I have been playing lotsa xbox together so there's that
and I don't know when we're gonna do the click clock woods thing, but I still wanna do it. I have some of the notes written out in reason, but I honestly just need a break from ytpmv for a bit. I'm kinda tired and wanna focus on music for a while.
BUT IM NOT QUITTING
Thaks!
@cooljunkproductions I've thought about that, but when I end up using like 13 different sources it doesn't really do much good. Iunno, it works well for me now so I dont wanna mess with it.
I never knew how much quicker it is to make YTPMVs with Sony Vegas. The program I have (Magix Movie Edit Pro) is quite decent with pitch shifting and effects, but making a YTPMV with it is pretty much trial and error since you have to open up a separate window and change the pitch manually for each sample.
also, press shift + or - to jump an octave without having to count
You jipped me out of a pitch shifting tutorial..
TO PITCH SHIFT, YOU NEED TO CLICK ON THE AUDIO TRACK (UNDER THE VIDEO PART) BEFORE IT WILL LET YOU PITCH SHIFT
disconnecting the audio first helps you not make silly mistakes like that
@BloodyknivesAxel I have literally never ever used those in anything I've done
