  • Always wanted to get a greenhouse and I was really worried that it would get to hot in my Zone 10a Florida heat, but for the price of these portable green house it was worth the try.
Here's a link to Amazon where I purchased it. It went up slightly on price when I originally purchased it $115.00.

I bought one just like yours, but I couldn't cool it enough, 120 and 130 degrees , so I took off the plastic and covered it with shade cloth 30% shade, it works fine . you could put the white cover on for the winter and take it off for the summer.
I hold mind down with 3 ropes tied to gro bags filled with rocks, and you will need a really good tie down, 3 ropes, 6 bags, 300 pounds of rocks. good luck.

I got one like that just a little smaller. Mine did have pieces along the back and pieces in the front with a framed doorway. It had two roll up windows and a roll up door. Similar to yours but with more framing. It worked great this past sprig for me. I'm in the Northeast. I used incandescent clear Christmas lights for supplemental heat and it did the trick. We took it down for the winter as I don't think it could handle a good snow but I will be setting it up again in end of Feb/Mar. Hope your greenhouse worked out.

My zippers gave out a few weeks ago. I purchased construction zippers off Amazon and adhered them over the old one. It is working great. Are you going to shore up your greenhouse? Hi, your channel just came up in my recommended with this video. I bought a quictent 3 years ago and it's still standing. The netting in the windows has dry rotted, the buckles on the doors have as well but that stuff I feel can be replaced with a little craftiness. The plastic itself is still in awesome shape. Now I do have mine strapped across the roof with 3 ropes attached to u-posts on each side. Here in TN we get some pretty fierce winds with spring and summer storms and I have had no wind damage. Mine is the 20x10x7. Also another great use for the greenhouse frame like quictent is a chicken coop!! I purchased just a frame and made my chicken coop. The lower half is wrapped in hardware cloth and the top is covered with chicken wire. I used 2x4s to frame the end up for a homemade door. It too works great!! I even decided to buy the greenhouse cover for that size and put it over for rain and winter protection after my original tarp dry rotted.

I have one about 1/4 the size of yours. Two different sizes. One of them got blown to the other side of the house during a storm, so I made sure to tie it down on all four corners AND to the house. Wind can get under and inside it and blow it upwards. Also, always count the parts first. I had a few pieces missing from one of my sets, too. But they weren't too major. I have a green colored one and clear. They both will get equally hot.

I have five flower beds, and with the prices of one annual flower now reaching $6.00 at Lowes and Home Depot, it cost a fortune to fill my beds in. I use landscape weed fabric over most of my rows and in the walkways I've been using pine bark fines.

Originally I tilled in bags of cheap cow manure compost from home depot, alfalfa pellets i got from tractor supply and espoma garden tone fertilizer. Now I just us a balanced organic fertilizer and top off the rows with cow manure compost. Also I do a cover crop once a year and cover the garden with a black out tarp to prevent weeds for about a 6 weeks after tilling in the cover crop.

I live in Florida, zone 9B. Where did you get your $115 greenhouse? Btw, you should have replaced your metal top ones with metal ones from sides & used pvc to replace missing metal ones for the sides. Easier to replace because it is lower!

Everything looked great until I saw the mesh screening they used for the exterior it’s totally unacceptable, a handful of bugs could wipe out an entire years worth of starter’s.Do they make a smaller size mesh and if so how much? With all the different ways to cross ventilate in the G/H, we don’t think it would matter what color it was. Happy gardening kids…
