Maha, I came across one of your shorts and it sparked something in me. Let me explain. I'm from the US and taught English in Saudi Arabia for 15 years. One of my main reasons for going there other than work was to hopefully learn Arabic. I failed. To this day it is one of my biggest regrets; every time I think of it it hurts immensely. I tried, even took a one month course in Cairo which had me more confused between classic Arabic and colloquial Arabic. That said, I can remember some words and even read it a tiny bit. I left Saudi in 2006 and haven't done a thing with Arabic sense then, but I often wonder if I should give it another try even at my age of 68. My state of Michigan actually has one of the largest Arabic speaking communities in the US. To conclude, I love the energy you bring and the way you make information easy for people to understand. I'm going to start paying much more attention to your site. Is it bad to think that I often feel that had I gone to another Arabic speaking country other than Saudi where I was from 1191 - 2006, I would be speaking Arabic. That said I also feel that had I been there during this New Saudi, I'd be speaking Arabic.In the end though the failure is all mine. My compensation is I've managed to learn a few European languages which is in large part why I wanted to learn Arabic, something totally different. Shukran
