    I tried this today for the first time. After 20-30 minutes I managed about a ten-second ride. I've since done several more. So, can confirm, it's not too hard. It feels like it will be moderately reliable with a couple more days of practice.
    I've probably got 40-50 hours of time on the foil. I can ride and gybe reliably, but I can't footswitch, for context.
    Thanks for the tutorial, and keep that front hand on the board!

      Congrats on riding seated! I really feel that it looks a lot harder than it is. (also depending on your foil of course)
      Thanks a lot for the comment. 🤙

      @@stevenakkersdijk I've got a huge front wing which I'm sure helps with this and with transitions.
      BTW, I'm in Squamish, so I had the same background as the opening clip of this video, and many of your other videos

      Nice! Enjoy squamish, I love that place. Hope it stays around for a bit, but thats questionable

      @@stevenakkersdijk Squamish has been looking healthy this week. The boat trip to the island adds some time, but gives kiters more opportunities to chat, so it doesn't feel like fully wasted time. That said, I'm just visiting from Vancouver so I don't know all the details and trends. I also hope it stays around.

    Good !!! I tend to say : A good rider doesn't make a good instructor. As an instructor, I am very receptive to the tips you are giving. It is full of empathy and really matching with everyone's need. Thanks for making the effort to close the gap between an expert and a newbie... your channel will last for sure ;)

      Thanks a lot for the message! I totally agree with you, think it's good that I've been an instructor for 5 years, helps me a lot to understand and look at it all from a different way.
      Cheers!

    Thank you for the great lesson. I've watched every foil clip you've made and can't wait to enter the water and try some new stuff. Thanks)

      Awesome to hear! I't very exciting to try out new things on the foil 🥳

    We love you tricks, and we love you.
    We try to follow your foot steps.
    Is that possible to see some of you fails?
    I would love to see how bad it could be and how you deal with that in such a short moment.
    Please.

      Hey Christiano
      In the video I did show a few fails, unfortunately I don't have any other ones. Otherwise I would have put it in there.
      But it can get pretty bas with the foil unfortunately.

      Yes, very similar. There will just be less space for your hand.

    Great vid again. Steven, could I ask, do you know what you pump your kite to on a nuking big air Nexus day? I'm getting some wingtip folding at 8.5 pounds. Tried 9.5 and it didn't seem to be an issue any more. I realize this is higher than Core recommends but I just wanted to ask what pressure you need on big days to keep the kite shape when you load a crazy amount of pressure.
    Thanks!!

    • @isamhadjih
      @isamhadjih 4 роки тому +1

      Axaroth Fiefa I think you shouldn’t go higher than the recommendations. If your kite bangs on the water (which may happen in a crash by accident) the kite is likely to blow up.

    • @stevenakkersdijk
      @stevenakkersdijk  4 роки тому

      Hey!
      Personally I always pump my kites up to about 10psi and sometimes harder on the nuclear days. This is something I wouldn't recommend though, as it is possible that you get problems with it, if you do it for a long time and crash your kite hard.
      If possible try to stay with the recommended settings from CORE, if that gives you trouble find the right pressure that it solves the problem.
      Hope this helps
