- Thanks to Saramonic for sponsoring this video -- but as always the opinions expressed herein are absolutely my own. Buy here: geni.us/KafwpT3
It started with RODE's Wireless GO in 2019, but the speed and fury with which wireless microphone competitors have jumped onto the frequency-hopping spread spectrum bandwagon have been quite something. Saramonic ups the ante with its latest incarnation of the Blink500, the ProX. - Наука та технологія
I'm a wedding videographer and corporate shooter. I use the DJI for the best of both worlds. For weddings I can just clip the transmitters onto best man/Father of bride and set them to record, I don't even bother with the receiver. For corporate when I have more time I plug the receiver unit into the S5 and use the system that way. It should be noted that I don't use the DJI as my main audio for the groom, for that I use a trusty Tascam DR10-L. I'm wary oft he DJI clip but just take it easy and i'm sure they'll bring replacement clips out for them soon.
Just got the saramonic. Upgrading from the cheapest sub$30 wireless mics. I’m using for live-streaming grilling. I’m excited to get the sardonic, and hope it it’s my needs. Thanks for the review🎉
I've been on Saramonics for 5 years or so, with my UwMic9 set though retired to leave space to the original Saramonic Blink 500 (due to the ease of use of auto 2.4ghz) but those definitely need upgrading (especially due to battery life and now also some signal issue), and I skipped Blink 500 Pro last year, and now this Blink 500 ProX looks good I just wish they had added backup recording by now. Their amazing BlinkMe looks great only thing missing on those is the lav mic mini jack port..
Great advice, great delivery.

1st of all. You did an excellent job with this review. I just got the Seramonic 500 pro X for $200. It is absolutely amazing. Im subbing to your channel. Keep pushing out vids. Excellent quality vid and sound. What mic are you using for this video? If you dont mind me asking. ✌🏾
Welcome to the channel! 😊🖖🏻
Been using the Blink 500 Pro X for 2 months now. Like them significantly more than Rode, if fact have retired the Rode kit completely, pulled out my old Saramonic UwMic9 set for using with phantom powered mics. Have to say I'm really impressed with Saramonic all round. Like your video btw, nice relaxed delivery :)

I love my rode wireless go ii for sound quality as long as I don’t need to record on board… coz the app workflow to get files is so irritating…. I love the DJI for everything else, convenience, wireless connection for mobile filming, file access from anything I can usbc, but hat the sound coz they are so cable and distance sensitive with irritating clicks, sound breaks(almost as if they are on auto levels…) it’s a shame how these Wi-Fi systems all have a delay to the video when both are wireless at a distance of over 15mm…
Always end up using the recordings as dual system audio… that’s when the DJI shines(ish)… how ever my all time reliable filmmaker kit is always in the bag
True the Sony and AVX are cake with icing all over…👍🏾
Something missing from all these units is a screw down option to secure the lav. I used the first Gen Rode units and I had so many failed recordings thanks to lavs disconnecting or scratching as they moved around. The lack of screw down lav option is a deal breaker for me with any on talent audio pack now.
I’ve since moved to the Tentacle Sync/Track combo. I get time code on all of my cameras, I get high quality audio recordings without worrying about range/interference issues (with time code), and I can use a Sennheiser shotgun mic on a camera as backup audio if everything else fails, or as background audio to include in the mix if appropriate. I’m also not limited to just two audio tracks since I can add as many audio recorders to the mix as I want.
as always, thanks for the effort and sharing. sadly, wireless audio is still not quite at the plug and play stage that is hard wired audio. i am an appreciative subscriber, thumbs up.
Ice to see you here again - it has been awhile…
Nice Vid...
Thoughts, Im a professional dancer that travels around the world and sometimes has to record dance instruction on the fly (when it's not set up). If Im using an iPhone for this, which system do you like between the three?
I would be using Lab mics for sure! :)
You should look for something that has the appropiate connector for better compatibility. I know Saramonic has some models with USB-C and lightning connectors.
Welp... I will be waiting for the real DJI Mic competitor then... no internal transmitter recording = no competition :-P
the delay is less than in the DJI Mic, which is between 15 and 25 ms. Saramonic is about 6ms.
if you know how to do things then they're much better it's a horrible system that you use
This mic is not available in india, so sad for me
it's available for humans
I think they sound VERY different. Neither of them great, to be perfectly honest. As someone who played, produced and mixed music long before he ever picked up a camera, I feel that filmmakers neglect the audio side MUCH than they should. For the price, these little systems are certainly really good. But they’re lacking in absolute terms. Case in point (and I mean absolutely no offense :)): the audio in this video surprised me with how much noise it had, as well as how sibilant "s" sounds were. Some mics are more prone to that than others, and it also depends on how a person tends to pronounce "s" sounds. But overall, with all the cool tech that’s built into systems like the Saramonic Blink 500 Pro X and the like, I wish they’d cut back on features and focus more on raw audio quality. The features are all cool. But I struggle to be excited about these products because I know from experience how much work you have to spend in post processing to make things ACTUALLY sound good. A good microphone, used the right way, takes care of that right at the source.
